so since i'm just barely getting into idoling!!! i don't really know everyone yet, but from what i've watched my favorites have already all graduated fffuuuuuuuuuuu, which would be zumi-san, sayanee, and miraccho

my favs from who's still around would be yazawa, ruri and fonchi o/

Hope you stick around and give Idoling!!! more chance in the coming future. When I got to know them, my favourites (Koizumi and Katou as well) both have just graduated but the remaining girls really more than make up for it. With 4th Gen being added, it there are a few more members to root for as well:) Plus their latest single is addictive with a killer PV. Also, you should also check out the 8th live concert too. The topic post on this has a few good clips for you to sample and enjoy.

sweet, i wonder if they are gonna hold the summer event, where they slit into couple groups and perform everyday. since they got more people now it should be easier than last year.

Thanks for the results. It's also nice to see some data with regards to Idoling!!! and this is quite useful as a benchmark for the popularity of each person:) Some comments once this result is being looked at:

1). Maipuru remains hands down the most popular member

2). Most popular member of each generation 1st - Maipuru; 2nd - Nao; 3rd - Ai; 4th - Yuuna. Hmm, that's also 4 out of 4 for my top favourite for each generation!

3). Least followed: 1st - Fonchi; 2nd - Serina&Ami; 3rd - Kaede; 4th - Manami

3). There is quite a big drop-off for the 4th gens who occupies the bottom 5 spots. They will most likely need more time to assimilate themselves in, presumably

4). I'm a little surprised Yazawa is 2nd last in her generation in readership term. I thought she would be more popular

5). Average for each generation is unsurprisingly in that order. 1st got 2,005; 2nd 1,911; 3rd 1,899; and 4th 1,682

Again, this is way too few a data and I'm data-mining it like hell but it's still fun to do:)

wha? that's outrageous. Talking to MM about their Paris trip is fine, but AKB is talking only about bikini thingy (I assume its regarding to their latest single)... Idoling could've filled that spot much better.

its not quite useful as a popularity data because you can see the tweets even when you're logged out and you can create three accounts like mixi to cheat ur fave just for fun. you can even link it to twitter and we all know ami is the 4th most popular 2nd gen...her wotas are just very....unobtrusive

Yeah, that's really dumb. :/ If they're going to give all these small-time idol groups a chance to be on a show they wouldn't normally get to be on (yet) you would think they would at least interview them and let people know what they're about as opposed to just giving people the top 2 groups. :/ Oh well.

True but can't you say that about most other polls or ranking results? If it's not well-designed for a specific purpose, dedicated enough people will always find ways to game the system. The way I see it, this is a good proxy (albeit with a lot of caveat that you point out) of how dedicated the fanbase or well-known that particular idol is. If the fan is dedicated enough to link 3 mixi account to his favourite idol, all credits to him:) Viewing that result in that light will probably put it in a more appropriate perspective! It's always fun to see different ranking of each idol anyway so I welcome any data I can find:) Would be interesting to see if the number changes over time too...

Let's face it. We got all excited over nothing. The thing that separates Idoling!!! from the other idol groups is their focus on variety shows. So, guess what they excel at? Talking, of course!

After hearing that Idoling!!! wouldn't have a real talk segment, our best hope was that they would have a nice talk segment that featured all of the participating idol groups. Idoling!!!'s biggest strength in that kind of a situation is their ability to force themselves into a conversation while in a big crowd. But, it didn't happen. Instead, Idoling!!! got stuck with a short introduction that looked like it took place in a back hallway, which basically forced them into a position that completely nullified Idoling!!!'s differentiating factor.

Let me be the first to say it: Music Japan sucked. It was good for a little PR, but, for Idoling!!! fans, it definitely wasn't worth the hype. Everyone should watch this week's MuSata on Dailymotion instead. It's much more entertaining.
