Whoa! With Spielberg this movie could be good...
I've been Transformers fan as long as I remember, I even had almost every issue of the Transformers comic published in Finland. I don't remember if the original TV-series was ever aired in finnish channels, but I watched some episodes at SkyTV (or whatever the channel was back then).
I really hope that they try tp stick with the original spirit of the series... Transformers Armada is running on finnish TV righ now and it's shit. Stupid kids fixing transformer's supercomputer... Transformers transforming to skateboards, microcons and other shit. nothx!

This is a rumoured clip of some test footage from the new movie. Notice I said "RUMOURED" clip. The site I got this from has a lot of debate/discussion as to whether it's a fake or legit. If it's fake, it's a pretty good looking fake IMO.

But I kinda understand that there can't be any robot dinosaurs if they wanna get the coolness from cars and planes and other stuff suddenly transforming to giant robots. A robot t-rex wouldn't be so good disguise on Earth.

Good things: They're gonna modernize transformers, robot-forms and disguises. And there's Scorponok in the movie.
Bad: They try to get the old voice actors (from the tv series?) to do the voices of the transformers. Imo they should get some cool voices rather than using old metallic squeking.

Well I was always more a comic books fan than the tv series. I had to do some voice checks and they weren't as bad as remembered (except Starscream). So maybe old voices are ok afterall. I'll hope they won't sound too senior though.

I guess they're changing the disguise forms to fit better to the plot. I think Optmus fails as a firetruck though.
And Brawl as a police car... The decepticon police logo is cool but Brawl was one of my favorite decepticons because he transformed to a tank. Maybe it even affected to my armored warfare fandom.

Yep the G1 toys are really expensive whether loose or in package. However, Takara is re-releasing some of them but they are still quite expensive. I also regret not taking care of my TF toys. If only I knew that they would get this expensive. I'm sorry Optimus. :(
Anyway the movie looks promising. Hope the toys they produce with its release would be cool too.

I don't know what kind of realism you're speaking of... They're giant robots from outerspace transforming cars and planes on earth!
Violence is easier though. In comic books they could do pretty mean things because they were robots, not humans. I hope the makers of the live action film understand this as well. I remember a scene where Megatron crushed Brawl's (combaticon transforming to a TANK) head with his bare hands. I was little shocked, since Brawl was one of my favorites :D

Peter Cullen, who did the voice for the original Optimus, will do so again in the movie.
The formal announcement was made at this year's Comic Con in San Diego. They didn't have Cullen there in person, nor did anyone mention his name. Rather, they called him and had him introduce himself (in the voice of Prime) as a new member of the cast. Check out the reaction of the audience. :w00t:

I was totally taken back after seeing the trailer. Hearing Optimus Primes voice at the end of the trailer... "Freedom is the right of all sentient beings." Damn that gave me chills. At first I was upset that Bumblebee was the new style camero and not a VW bug but the more I see it the more I start to like it.
If I could I would sleep till July 4. I don't care if I slept through the "May of 3s" Spider-man, Pirates, Shrek all put together doesn't even come close to the anticipation that I have for The Transformers movie.

^Those toys don't look too bad. Interesting that they're using the protoforms, which does make sense, since protoforms are a part of the Transformers mainstay.
I've seen a picture of what Megatron will look like in the movie, and I didn't like how he looked at all. My doubts are still in place for this movie, but come this summer I might decide to go and see it.

Yeah the Megatron's transformation from a giant robot to a tiny handgun was kinda ridiculous. I still remember how the editor of the finnish version of the comic book answered to a question concerning the issue: "Maybe decepticons have invented a shrinking serum." I was so angry because the whole thing and the explanation was so so stupid. And I was only 10 years old or something :D
Those protoforms are kinda cool... look like evangelions, which can't be a bad thing. Too bad they're actually so good, that those earthforms look even more lame now.

A buddy of mine works in the industry and he saw some rough animation.
The scene was two transformers fighting as they were falling in between two buildings. They are just destroying the buildings as they fall. He said it looked awesome even though the scene wasn't totally finished.

The JSF Starscream and the HIND Blackout look awesome. As usual, the Decepticons are much much cooler than the Autobots.
I can't figure out Megatron. He certainly looks badass, but I can't figure out what he's supposed to be. Certainly not a gun or field artillery. And not really a gunship or aircraft either.

I'm not convinced, they need the old school sound effects when they transform, they were awesome. And the clever details in the way the helicopter, truck, plane or whatever turned into a robot is covered over with overproduced over complicated cgi. hopefully we'll see more in the film.

the new tv spots are pretty wicked! starscream looks cool transforming mid-flight, the action looks white knuckle, and i like how in the bonecrusher vs. optimus chase they have a nifty glide similar to iGPX(atleast it looks that way to me) if nothing else i think it'll be one helluva show to watch~

So apparently there has been a lot of flack coming from the diehard G1 purists over the fact that Hugo Weaving is going to be voicing Megs instead of Frank Welker (the thought being, if you're going to have the original Optimus you should have the original Megs as well). IMO, it's just a movie, just sit back and enjoy the show.

Myself isn't any dieheart fan of the Transformers, but I ve been watching this since I was a little (lik 4?). Didn't really know what the story line is about, just knew there was 2 seperate power and it bunch of Transformers fighting each other.

^ No idea bout the budget, but from the making of I found, there is a lot of 'real' explosions and stunts going on, not just CGI:
Though after the effects of the nerdgasms wore off, there were quite a bit of plot holes and stuff. XD Everything else; the fight scenes, the comedy, the effects, the fucking hot girl, was way more than enough to make up for it.

I thought the movie was going to suck. But after seeing it, I can honestly say that this is the best movie I have seen in a long time. Great action, descent comedy when there is no action, and Megan Fox is hot as hell. Best Damn Movie.

I really enjoyed the film!
Film comments(spoilers) [bgcolor=#1d1d1d] Bumblebee was the coolest, I was so happy that I knew who it was xD(being so long since i saw the cartoon) I was a bit worried before i saw the film and during the beginning of the film that it would be too much about people...i still think it was but it wasn't as bad as I thought it might be. I was almosyt squealing when the autobots started appearing and changing into human vehicles. I wish the deceptacons had more character development, but I don't think they could've made the film any longer. Maybe cut out some of the random teenage stuff...well shorten it. Hopefully in the next film(and i've heard they will be at least 2 more) that sort of developement will happen as at the same source they said the construtacons and dinobots will appear. Starscream and Megatron need to do the rivalry thing! they promised on the transformers site they would and they so didn't! I'm complaining right now but I actually loved the film and can't wait to get the DVD ^_^[/bgcolor]
Did u know Optimus Prime is Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh!? I only just realised...:o

When I went in there I had my Optimus Prime matrix shirt on, and no-one batted an eyelid, lol.
