Laura Lepistö

The brand new European champion totally deserves a thread! :finland:

Laura Lepistö (born April 25, 1988 in Espoo, Finland) is a Finnish figure skater. She is the 2009 European Champion and 2008 Finnish national champion. Lepistö has won medals on the Junior Grand Prix circuit. She won the short program at 2007 Skate Canada, her first major senior international competition. Lepistö won the silver medal at the 2007 Nordic Figure Skating Championships. She won the bronze medal at the 2008 European Championships, which was the first time she competed at that competition. In 2009 European Figure Skating Championships which took place in Helsinki / Finland, she won the gold medal.

Agreed. I don't really have anything against Kiira but Laura doesn't seem to get as much attention in Finnish papers as Kiira.
