Title: I can't Fucking believe I'd see <THAT ATHLETE> in <THAT JERSEY>
Post by: daigong on April 11, 2010, 07:03:22 AM
We hardcore sports fans here at :hipheart:

Have you ever followed a team / player with such passion, and then get CRUSHED because "Sports is just a business. I gotta take care of my family." and the next thing you know the star player of your team is wearing another teams jersey. Even worse, THE BITTER RIVALS.

I can't Fucking believe I'd see <THAT  ATHLETE> in <THAT JERSEY> :fuckyou:

Vent here. Post pictures. They always help.

For example. Steve Staios gave his heart and soul to the Edmonton Oilers.

Then on trade deadline day  :banghead:

This is funny. Lanny McDonald, at a charity event this past weekend:

Him of Calgary's glory days:

Unfortunately yes. Last year Carlos Tevez outlined team passion and committment to the cause by either scoring goals or chasing after that ball so much, that defenders would dread it if they saw a small Argentinian bulldog running towards them:

And any press announcement he had, it was full of praise for United. About the players, the manager, and how he would stay at the club for life for the fans. And what happens towards the end of the season? The man develops an ego complex and starts doubting the club when a new contract hadn't been offered straight away. Long story short, a re-extension was offered just when we finished the last game of the season, as promised, but by then Tevez seemed to take it as some personal offense and he and his agent arranged a big money move elsewhere. That place being, just down the road, to our derby rivals, Manchester City:

What's more offensive though is how much shit he talked about United when he joined City. How much the manager paid no respect to him at all. He tried to backtrack before the derby matches this season by saying how he doesn't anticipate why the fans would dislike him so much after the move. Umm, you talk shit about our manager, one of the greatest there's ever been, and you moved to our rivals, even when we offered you the contract extension you solely wanted plus a salary increase! The man scored in both derby matches this season and each time he ran over to the United supporters and cheered in front of us, even when he said he wouldn't. So much for club loyalty. Prick.

Dennis Law was another one who moved from Utd to City but that was different. He was in his glory years and this was a free transfer. But more than that though, on the last game of the 1972-73 season, City played against Utd. Things weren't going well for us at the time and as it turned out, a draw or a loss would have seen us relegated from the First Division. Law scored a goal in that match to make it 1-0 to City but he didn't know a draw would have seen us go down anyway. So he didn't celebrate it, and in fact was so dejected that there was no choice but to substitute him. Legend.

He bled green for the Eagles for years, so many NFC titles, a Super Bowl appearances. His scrambly ways now in Red and yellow. Yet they traded him on Easter. :tama-mad:

At least he's upbeat, coached by a Super Bowl winning coach Mike Shannahan. I bet he wins a Super Bowl before his replacement Kolb

I can't believe I'd see Paul Pierce, a Celtics legend, in a Brooklyn Nets jersey.  It's a shame he couldn't end his career as a Celtic.
