When the 5th gen was added into MM, the H!M that featured them also had Kei with a giant eyepatch on.. does anyone know what happened? D:

I remember there was another appearance around the same time where Nacchi had an eyepatch. I think it was 24 hour tv or something like that.
If my memory isn't faulty, and Nacchi had one as well, maybe it was some kind of eye infection or something. Pinkeye, for example, is notoriously contagious. Other than that, maybe she got hit in the eye in a perf. It seems to happen frequently enough.

For native japanese speakers or those very fluent and familiar with the spoken language:

Do the hp members sound like bimbos?

They are all capable of sounding dumb at times, even to nonjapanese speakers, but do any of them consistently speak in a way that makes them come across as really not too smart?

(The US equivalent might be the speech of a "valley girl" or an uneducated southerner.)

If we focus on delivery, not content, then no, not really (in my opinion). The worst example you can find is Takahashi's accent from the sticks in the Utaban episode where they promote Souda! We're Alive. But that was over four years ago - lately I haven't really noticed it so I guess she's mostly gotten rid of the accent.

Of course these things aren't just regional. In any language, anyone who speaks without really saying much of anything can sound pretty airheaded:

"The shark was like you know really big and it had really like you know big teeth and um it was white and like swam around a lot..."

After hearing some blonds on tv talking that way, it occurred to me some of our hp faves might be a bit like that. :-)

I know enough Japanese to know what's going on and it does sound like they're using filler 98% of the time... haha.
