Tibetan Chinese singer alan has secured a foothold in the J-pop market thanks to her well-received debut Japanese album Voice of EARTH. Her recent single Kuon no Kawa (theme song for John Woo's Red Cliff 2) even reached no. 3 on the Oricon weekly chart, the highest ever achieved by a Chinese singer. The success doesn't mean she will forget the fans in her homeland, though. In July 2009, alan is releasing her first Mandarin studio album. Backed by Avex's production crew, and famous Mando-pop producer Benjamin Lin and lyricist Francis Lee, the album features 11 songs, including the main plug "Love Can See", and both theme songs from the Red Cliff movies. Other selections are mainly Chinese versions of alan's J-pop hits, plus printer tie-in song "Go! You Have Me!" (duet with Wei Chen), and Sichuan Earthquake Relief fundraising song "Love is the Hands", available on CD for the first time.
