The press release from last year (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/press-release/2008-08-25/marvel-recreates-world-renowned-super-heroes-for-japanese-culture-partnering-with-leading-japanese-animation-studio-madhouse)

Quote
Madhouse to produce cutting-edge Japanese anime series based on Marvel Universe

NEW YORK--As part of the company's aggressive strategy to grow the exposure of its character franchises in international markets, Marvel Entertainment, Inc. is partnering with Madhouse - one of the top Japanese animation studios in the world - to create brand new characters inspired by the Marvel Universe for the Japanese market.

Working closely with Marvel, Madhouse will produce cutting edge Japanese anime series based on Marvel's world-renowned character library for the Japanese market. The characters will be adapted visually, using the unique style of Japanese anime, and their back stories and histories will interweave the local culture and history of Japan, with an eye toward making their mythology more relevant to the Japanese audience. This collaboration will result in a completely new character base, which will eventually cross-over into the current Marvel Universe.

Anime adaptations for X-men were also mentioned before by tenkei and boykun in the X-Men thread before.

Wolverine and Iron Man teaser trailers

So yeah, Logan doesn't look like the Logan we've all known since we were kids and he's gonna get some hate but I think the series could be given a chance before writing it off.

Though personally, I'm looking forward more for Iron Man. Dogfight looks fluid and that bishie-Iron Monger(?)/Captain Harlock looks like an interesting villain. Tony doesn't have his 'stache, unfortunately. But he's still gonna get the chicks for sure.

It'll be interesting to see how other Marvel characters with look anime style, although methinks that good 'ol Captain America might not work out for this.

Iron Man 「アイアンマン」 CM (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qzSTvlgP2QQ&feature=player_embedded#ws)

Starts this Friday in Japan.
Lets see which group subs this one, I'll be waiting to download.
It'll only be 12 eps.

I figure after Iron Man has had its run, the next up will probably be Wolverine.

And, Iron Man is also slated for a U.S. release in 2011.

Just finished watching the first ep of the Iron man anime.
Not bad for the first ep, and I'll be looking forward to the remaining 11 eps.

Other than the initial surprise that Tony Stark speaks perfect Japanese ( XD ), it was a pretty good intro episode. Should be interesting to see what the brainwashing business was all about.

There have now been 3 episodes released for the Iron Man anime and I'm completely lost as to what's going on in the big picture. Sure, it's great to see Iron Man take out 'bots one-by-one in each episode..but I guess I'm just expecting a little more? I don't know..

Watched the last ep of Iron Man a while ago.
All in all, it was pretty typical for an anime, IMHO.

Next month, Wolverine starto!

This is running at the moment in Germany. The dub is surprisingly well made.

They brought Iron Man, X-Men and Volverine. Are there more series or only these three?

I wonder just, why Logan looks so different and older in X-Men than in Volverine. He shouldn't age so fast.
