to say honestly i dont really feel good with the musical arrangement, perhaps it's the problem of the radio rip quality but in some extent it really does express the "cool" image of MM and that's not bad :)

Just listen to the preview on youtube, but about halfway through it suddenly stopped :huhuh But I liked what I've heard. Kimagure Princess didn't have a 1st good impression with me, but I ended up liking it, so I'd say this one started pretty good!

I think it's an ok song so far. I don't watch anime but it kinda of reminds me of some kind of anime theme song, maybe. :lol: It seems kinda repetative though. Like in terms of the verses. But I have to agree with many people, this has a better first impression on me than Kimagure Princess, which I ended up liking after a LONG time.

It kinda reminds me of "Songs" with the heavy synth sound and switching drum rhythm patterns.
I think the real instance of these women standing out, though, is the B-side, "Nakidasu Kamo Shirenai yo" (I don't really like the title of this one either): [noembed]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nISNvhL8-Yo[/noembed] Hip-hop Musume??? Or a hint of such with the beat at least...I was almost expecting a "J-J-J-J-J R!!!" in the intro. XD I'm definitely looking forward to a high quality version of this one, especially with an instrumental version coming with it.
After the weirdness of the last single didn't sell it seems like the group's going for a more mainstream sound this time around.

Even though it's low-res, I love all the different shots, compared to the dance shot/close up format of all the other recent PVs. The make-up scenes are epic. <3 The catwalk-thing kinda seems a bit out of place to me, though. 'Cause they're walking pretty slow, compared to the tempo the song's at. :|
As for the B-side, I thought the opening instrumental part was amazing, but they it kinda got boring afterwards. D:

PV looked really nice. It's good to see them getting a little creative. The disco ball is back, and it's huuuge!~ :P
For the song. I like most of it a lot, but the chorus doesn't seem as catchy as previous singles. It's like you're getting attacked with the beat in the build up of the first minute, but just suddenly drops its catchiness. Course, I have no idea what I'm saying~ :lol:
For the covers. Limited A looks really nice~ Limited B on the other hand looks more like a work in progress! :P

Yeah, it's still quite OG-biased (the title of the song most certainly fits in this situation :P), but compared to the recap episode from 2006 this one is much better when it comes to giving attention to the current lineup of the time. The pandas definitely make sure that their group isn't ignored, and they even get declared the MVPs! :twothumbs So even though it's a disappointing appearance for the current MM, it's still interesting to watch (any appearance is better than no appearance) and it does give me hope that any future bookings (if there are any) may finally give them some respect.
I hope this gets subtitled soon.

Regarding the Utaban appearance, IMO the perf was good. Talk segment however was gravely disappointing in the fact that they largely ignored the current members because they used this appearance to once again brought in the OG members to "reminisce about the the good old days."

I hate to say that I expected something like this once I found out that the OGs were also going to be on, but I did. The sad thing is just how much they focused on the OGs and how they largely ignored the current members. Out of a nearly 30 minute talk segment: - close to 20-25 minutes was spent talking to and/or looking at old footage of the OG members, and - around 2 and a half minutes were devoted for the actual performance, Leaving something like, 3-6 minutes where they actually talked to the current members, none of which was used to actually talk about/promote the new single.
JunLin were able to get in a few good comedic moments here and there, but once again Utaban confirms and shows that it's stuck in the past. It's almost like the only reason the current members are getting on Utaban is because they're being used as a way to bring the OGs onto the show. For the most part, the OGs aren't actually releasing any singles or doing any other work that would have gotten them a new Utaban appearance, so how else could they be brought back for an appearance? Now don't get me wrong, I still love the OG members, but this is getting ridiculous. There's blatant and obvious favoritism from Taka-san & Nakai for the OGs, especially with the former stating that he finds the current members boring (wouldn't surprise me if the shows producers were the same way). However, when you take the fact that they've never really given the current members the chance to shine and that they've never really paid them the attention that they gave the OGs it's no wonder that the current members might seem dull in comparison. While they are responsible for making their own effort to be interesting, the onus can't be put solely on them. The hosts and producers of the shows need to do their part too. They're just as responsible for making good TV, as part of their job is to find ways to draw their guests out of their proverbial shells to get something interesting. While they did this with the OGs, it's obvious that Utaban is failing, nay, it's like they're choosing to not put forth that effort with the current lineup.

EDIT: And so that I don't end off this post sounding like I'm completely pissed off, I loved the part where Linlin said that since Taka-san was all about the OGs, that Nakai should be responsible for talking to the current lineup. The fact that she again didn't say the honorific after his name (like how she did with Arita "the sleepy pineapple guy" when they were on Shakeburi 007 just before Xmas) too was nice. :D

^ ^Yeah I totally agree with your rant. I was basically going all "..." at the freaking long recap of old footage. I mean, sure it's entertaining, but really...
And yes, I found the part where Linlin left out the honorific really hilarious. Ai and Risa panicking at that and getting up to apologize was....:lol: Poor leader and sub-leader. XD

I embraced an anti-Utaban sentiment a while ago and I have no reason to change that, unfortunately!
Damn I had to skip most of it because I'm not interested in seeing old stuff. Gahh

I think I've overexpected Utaban again..... The talk part is mainly OG and I am not going to complain it, but I'm quite disappointed with MC's attitude towards GEN members.. JJLL really tried their best to draw attention but the MCs simply ignored them orz. what a pitty. BTW the live quite GJ. Probably takes effect on promotion.

The show in itself, was disappointing but I think most of it was with ratings than promoting the song, which right now has been the issue of Takahashi being leader. (this is just pure observation), I think given more of a chance they probably could succeed. Well yeah, I really didn't want a recap show so the expectation just got shot down again
Upside was the performance was great!

Talk was about what I expected, but I was happy to see Junjun and Linlin stick up for themselves a bit. Like the last screen before the perf said, they are the MVPs of the current group.
And yes, OMG ITS ORANGE. Probably more distracting than that giant octopus from the Sexy Boy perf a few years ago.

Just watched them all. I think I like the close-up version the best, followed very closely by the make-up version. Not a fan of the dance (or the huge red boots). The reason I like the close-up best is because they look hot. :lol: I know that when you put on make-up, you're generally looking in the mirror but for a PV, it's weird. But it was interesting so I didn't hate it. :D But the dance...oh the dance...no. I'm just not feeling it. And I LOVE the little white boots they wear in the promotion pics. Though they would be suicidal to dance in, so I do understand why those huge red ones are used in the PV. I guess I'll be buying this soon. :heart:

It's official: the single has placed #5 on Oricon for its debut week, starting strong but selling just a few hundred units short of "Kimagure Princess". The competition was a lot tougher this time, though...KAT-TUN's appearance on the chart reminded me of Larry Bird at the 3 point contest, just stepping into the locker room and asking "who's playing for second place?" :lol: They just made everyone look bad. http://blog.livedoor.jp/ustan777/archives/51657260.html (http://blog.livedoor.jp/ustan777/archives/51657260.html) At the very least, the string of top 5 finishes for MM still continues, and with all the promotion going on it'll be interesting to see how long this one lasts on the charts.
