"THE BEST TEN" Momoe collection
« Reply #40 on: June 11, 2011, 11:12:49 PM »
Holy shmokes, I told my friend about the "other" Momoe box set out there for "cheeper" at Amazon Japan.  And finances be damned, he bought it!

His review is in and it looks pretty damn shweet.

Does anyone know what that song is that Momoe, Masako and Junko sing near the end, in white dresses but before their cover of Bridge of Troubled Water. A list of all the songs they sing in the program would be even better.

It's at the beginning of the 4th video.

Here's a list I made some time ago.  If anyone knows the titles of the 2 Masako & 2 Junko songs in part 3 that'd be great.

Masako Junko Momoe, Namida no Sotsugyoushiki Shuppatsu"

Re: Yoru no Hit Studio DVD set
« Reply #42 on: July 28, 2011, 06:15:55 AM »
My friend got the Momoe "Yoru no Hit Studio" box set.  VERY attractive stuff here!

Yes, it's a very good set.  I notice your friend says it includes ALL her Yoru no Hit Studio performances, which isn't entirely true as she did 3 performances in 1973, 10 in 1974 and 5 in Jan-May 1975 that aren't on the DVD, there's also a few later clips missing including Ai ni Hashitte (1976.04.19), Pearl Colour ni Yurete (1976.10.18 & 1976.11.29), Kosumosu (1977.10.24).  I believe that some episodes no longer exist in the archives, so that maybe explains why they're not on the DVD.

And talking of stuff that no longer exists, I mentioned in an earlier post how a performance of her audition song on Star Tanjou only exists as audio not video, well I managed to get a longer version, so I re-did my reconstruction...

Sig gone. Tinypic is no more.

Ah, that includes the full setlist, including stuff that's never been released!  I'll romaji it tomorrow, it'll take me a while, and it's late and I should have gone to bed hours ago.

[PART 2] THREE LADIES SHOW

   That's、be the day ~ When you smail ~LOVE ~
Last time I so ~ What I say

Sakurada Junko Show

   Last Time I Saw Him ~ What'd I say

Mori Masako Show
Gion Kouta ~ Kandagawa ~ Muen Saka ~ Aizu Bandaisan ~ Ringo Oiwake ~ Namida no Renrakusen

Yamaguchi Momoe Show
Heartbreak Hotel ~ Crazy Love ~ Hound Dog - Hey Good Looking ~
Jambalaya ~ Teddy Bear ~ Don't Be Cruel ~ Kono Mune no Tokimeki

Each of them express their individuality in the mini-show.  This part is one of the highlights of the show.
Junko sang English songs and danced energetically on stage.
Masako wore a traditional kimono.  She sang folk songs and songs by Misora Hibari and her "Star Tanjou" audition song "Namida no Renrakusen".
Momoe wore black leather pants and red shirt and sang Elvis Presley songs with defiance.  It was an extension of the production in her "Momoe-chan Matsuri"[a series of concerts she did every year], and it was a good selection.  Then she sang and danced wearing a long white dress, she gently sang "Kono Mune no Tokimeki". The songs & the black and white production[referring to the black leather pants & jacket / white dress] expressed Momoe's personality very well.

Mori Masako
Kosame no Geshukuya / Anata o Matte Sannen Sangatsu / guest: Matsuda Youji / Ano Hito no Funeyukicchatta

This part showcases the latest hits, with a guest appearance of one of their movie co-stars.
Junko's movie is "Wakai Hito", co-starring Onodera Akira.  Masako's movie is "Dongurikko" with child actor Matsuda Youji.  And of course Momoe's guest is Miura Tomokazu.  The cheers when Tomokazu appeared were amazing.  Tomokazu was asked his first impression, "Small and round and well fed...".  Mr Tokumitsu [the host] asked "Will you two do a duet again" and there were big cheers.

First song ever written by Momoe. Take your eyes off the figure-hugging dress and listen.

My friend continues on the path to completing his Momoe collection (and probably going broke in the process).  Today's package is the "Momoe Premium Live" box set: http://zdoramaagain.blogspot.com/2012/03/yamaguchi-momoe-premium-live-box-set.html
