^ Nope. It will be first out on PS4, but it will make it's way on the Xbox One.

I'm more interested in this remake on a curiosity/academic level. I wanna see what changes they make, other than the cosmetic one. Plot points changing? Revamped materia system? I'm not ruling out playing it myself, but I'm gonna wait for the dust to settle before I decide on anything.
I vote for TOZ as the most gangsta~  :otomerika:

Wonder if they'll make the combat more like an action RPG, something like Crisis Core or FFXV. I hope the materia system is kept. Either way I'm cool with it, I either get to go through and experience the world and characters with a new battle system or I play a classic again with an already solid battle system but with updated HD graphics, soundtrack etc. It's things like story and voice acting which could let it down, personally speaking.

Well we know one thing about it already, Nomura's confirmed that cross dressing Cloud will be included (why do so many people ask about this?!)

There is a Distant Worlds concert in America at the moment and last night a composer, Arnie Roth, let it slip that FFXII is getting the HD re-release treatment. Please be true, please be true, please. I normally don't care so much about HD rereleases, but FFXII is so underrated and came out 9 years ago. It's time.

FFXV combat looks fun, but I dislike the ikemen main cast.

Playing FFIX now.

The game certainly looks great, but is a big step back after FFVIII; as bad as the plot was in VIII, at least combat was fast and limit breaks were fun to use.

FFIX combat is just too slow, the "Trance" always come at the wrong time (or not at all) and the plot has its really dumb plot twists too. Also aside from the rat and Quina, I dislike all the characters.

And last but not least, Tetra Master feels so terrible after Triple Triad.

FFIX is my second least favourite in the series for all the reasons you listed above.

FFX: breath of fresh air after IX.

Really like the combat and character system. Story not too bad either. A bit juvenile at times but that's just some of the characters acting their age.

I wish FFXIII had the same quick character switching in combat.

Xenosaga III basically copy pasted the combat, one of the reasons why that game was pretty fun too.

The platinum demo kind of unexcited me for FFXV a bit

I mean it was pretty, but I wasn't super interested and don't want to replay it all that much, the camera too was pretty odd and would go asdafag if you went too close to anything, I don't really have much to say about it at all lol.

Definitely a weird demo. Seemed more like a tech demo considering how you could change the time or weather conditions with the press of a button and the limited  number of things to do. The demo that came out with FF Agito gave you more of an expectation of what to consider in the final game. I thought it was ok, though it left me feeling empty because I've seen the combat be better than what was on offer. It was certainly a great looking game though, that event you could trigger to see Leviathan leap out of the air was genuinely very cool to see so I'm looking forward to see how they will implement giant set piece moments like that in the final game.

Final Fantasy X/X-2 is available on Steam now. With a few boosts like fast forward and control of the encounter rate. With a mod, you can get the Japanese dub with the English subs. That's how I plan on playing since the last time I played the games was the NA PS2 versions. But that's later this year, still going through a different single player RPG at the moment (Suikoden V).

On a whim I have started FF XIV. I made an arcanist and so far I'm liking her. I like pet classes :) Currently playing with a controller but it is kind of awkward. Maybe I should try k+b. Historically I'm a console gamer so old habits die hard.

Yesssss! It deserves the remaster treatment, It's a low res pixelated mess on HDTVs, but there is a very good looking game underneath if they could correct it. Similarly, the audio quality wasn't so great because I think they had to make concessions for disc space? But luckily, it seems like they're addressing those:

Quote
-based on FINAL FANTASY XII INTERNATIONAL ZODIAC JOB SYSTEM
-Background, character model, fonts and all 2D parts are higher resolution
-Movie scenes are higher resolution
-Uses current-gen graphics tech
-7.1 surround sound
-higher quality audio
-Japanese and English voice
-Option between original BGM and newly recorded BGM
-shorter loading time
-auto-save feature
-turbo mode

Absolutely amazing news to wake up to, it has the best combat of the series, an inspired aesthetic and having never played the Zodiac version, should be great to finally dig into it once again. The only bad news is that I have to wait until 2017!
