[CHI] Hong Kong Themes and Soundtracks
« on: March 30, 2011, 11:18:19 AM »
It seems we didn't have such a topic. So here it is! What's your favorite hong kong movie theme or soundtrack? Share your thought with us!

To get things started, i introduce my current project. Especially this year i'm working on several hk movie themes medleys.
I'm trying to cut many vocal and instrumental hk themes together. These medleys are a tribute to the memorable themes in hong kong movies.

There are actual 15 Medleys online!

This brings back memories.

Here's another obvious choice:

One of the most mantastic HK ballads ever:

Can't forget the man himself, Jackie Chan:

:theking

Exiled OST is another classic:

GOOD mix Tao Priest. I love Medleys. Esp. ones that last 10-12 minutes, eh Masa?

Great thread :thumbup

You fucker

Johnnie To and John Woo have some really dope ass themes. Like in A Better Tomorrow, Leslie Cheung sings the best anthems:

Just haunting.

and in Johnnie To's "The Odd One Dies" with Takeshi Kaneshiro and Carmen Lee had the quirkiest soundtrack

Didn't see The Odd Ones Dies

Sounds really good ^^

Second most awesome movie theme from George Lam is the one from King Of Beggars! Rapping George kicks ass.

AH LAM :D

one movie soundtrack I love, that went into traditional Opera sounds and comedy with a mix of modern beats was Chinese Odyssey 2002

course it helps when Faye Wong sings too :P

makes Tony Leung sound good too XD

Jacky Cheung is surely one of the most entertaining singers in history   XD

But also some movie roles are crazy as hell. Think also about Future Cops or High Risk.

Jackie Chan - You Cai Hua

This song is really down-to-earth and touching.
