She is actually one of the first girl I noticed. I think she's very beautiful, but she gets no exposure what so ever. Live, she's buried behind the big forces of Team K and on 0ji59fun etc she was only in the audience for a couple for episodes and didn't get to say anything. As a result, I don't know anything about her......

Natsumi's my favorite AKB member. :heart: She may have been the first one I saw, too. I was looking through the profiles at Wiki.theppn and noticed Natsumi. She was my age, so I was thinking of choosing her as my favorite for that reason, but I decided against it. XD Yuko was my favorite for about a year until Natsumi replaced her.

Yeah. =/ Since K4, she seems to get a lot more spotlight in the stages at least. She finally got a good unit in K5. :D I don't think she's been on AKBINGO! at at all, though. She got say something with Meetan on 0ji 59fun once and there was a video of it on Youtube, but I think it got removed. How/when you got to know her: When I first got into AKB, I was looking through the profiles of various members. I came across Natsumi's profile and was going to randomly decide to make her my favorite solely based on the fact that we were born in the same year. :lol: Eventually I decided against it and Yuko became my favorite. I started taking notice of Natsumi by watching various Team K stages, and whenever I wasn't searching for Yuko, I would find Natsumi. Eventually I started paying attention to Natsumi more because she was so underrated. I was more active in her threat at STAGE48, and it got to the point where people were surprised to find out that Yuko was my favorite and not Natsumi. XD (Natsumi was my 4th favorite at the time) Natsumi eventually surpassed Yuko as my favorite in October 2008, one year after I became an AKB fan and I haven't looked back since. :heart:
My favorite thing(s) about her: Everything? XD I really like her reactions. If you've seen the episode of Nemousu Terebi when Natsumi, Sae, Sayaka, and Erena are on a farm, she has some hilarious reactions. She also seems like a really sweet and down-to-earth person. She's a great performer, too. You can really see her dancing skills in the video that Masa linked. She may not be the best singer, but I still like her voice regardless. :heart: It reminds me a lot of Rika's voice, actually. I've never been able to really explain why I like Natsumi, I just do. Ironically, I can explain exactly why I like Yuko and Sayaka (two of my other favorites), but I have a harder time with Natsumi. XD

When K5 was announced, I was hoping that Natsumi would 1) get a non-silly unit and 2) be paired with Yuko. I got both of those with End Roll. Natsumi, Yuko, Ayaka, and Nontii were in a dancing unit for some AKB event a while back, so I was hoping that these four would be paired together for a unit in K5. When I was watching it for the first time (I hadn't seen the tracklisting beforehand), I saw Yuko, Ayaka, and Nontii and I was thinking "Maybe Natsumi's there!" and when her face appeared, I literally started hyperventilating. XD I was just so glad that Natsumi and Yuko were finally paired together and she was in a non-silly unit that got to show off her dance skills.
A moment that made me laugh: Like I mentioned before, Natsumi's reactions. (See Masa's last video) Also during the Nemousu Terebi special when Nontii and Yagami Kumi pushed Natsumi off the raft. :lol:
A moment that surprised me: Again, I'm repeating myself her, but her dancing skills! When watching her in the earlier stages, she didn't seem all that impressive, but when K4/H2/K5 rolled around, I really took notice. Speaking of which, I noticed that in earlier stages, when performing, Natsumi didn't really seem to happy when performing, like she didn't want to be there. But when H1/H2/K4 was released, I saw that she looked much happier when performing and looked like she was having a blast, too. =D

She's been in both. She was in an episode around November 10, 2009 (not sure of the exact date, but that's when I posted about it at S48) and got to do the cooking activity with Yuko. She was in the background in other episodes around that time and and got to be one of the girls that places a bet for the girls that did jumps or whatever. As for Shukan AKB, I haven't watched it all that much, but she appeared on it a few times in late 2009. She's appeared on Nemousu Terebi and Suiensaa a lot, though, which is nice. :D

- Her profile was added to the AKB Team Ogi (http://akb48teamogi.jp/) website. I swear, I didn't even know it existed until her profile was added. Was it always there?
- She has a profile at Ogi Pro website here (http://www.ogipro.com/talent/matsubara/index.html), but it hasn't been added to the talent index yet.
- Natsumi (along with Iwasa, Nonaka and Komori) have blogs, but Ogi Pro decided to be stupid and make them mobile only. As far as I know, only Japanese cellphones have access to them. >_>

Natsumi's really pretty and a great dancer, but somehow I've always felt she just gets by on her looks. She doesn't really stand out during concerts or TV shows... with the all the new girls and popular kenkyuusei, I think it may be hard to make undergirls again... Well, she'll probably make top 40, but I think she'll rank lower than last year.

Last time she was the 39th, so if she makes to Top 40 but her rank is lower then there is only no.40 left. XD
Natsumii was no.30 when there was only top30 in the first time, then she was no.39 when it expanded to top40. (and kks who had made to no.40 was axed later)

I highly doubt she'll make it this time, though. There's so many more popular girls now that didn't make it last year but definitely will this year (like Yui, NMB, various kenkyuusei, etc.), so there's no way she'll make it unless if she has a lot of dedicated, rich fans. =/

Wow! This thread has been dead for while. Time for a revival! It's too bad that Natsumi lost in early in the Janken tournament. This is probably the only way for her to get noticed since she won't be voted into Senbatsu anytime soon.

Yeah, I definitely wouldn't have minded seeing Natsumi in the janken senbatsu because she's both beautiful and a great dancer. Anyways I wish Natsumi would get a solo DVD because she looked gorgeous in Natsumicha and 4YOU :drool:

It looks like Nattsumii will be staring in some sort of play called Koufuku Record. She has a post on her blog about it with a poster! I could be wrong though. My Japanese skills are very limited at best.

From what I could conjure up, there will be at least 8 performances. 1 on the 17th, 1 on the 18th, 2 on the 22nd, 2 on the 23rd, 1 on the 24th, 1 on the 25th, and 1 on the 26th. These are all in October. I couldn't find anything for later dates.
Does anyone know anything else about this such as where it's at or what it's about? Also, how long has she been rehearsing for this? It seems like this should have been reported at least a few months ago.

Nattsumii has finally posted some information about the play she is in on her blog.

Based on my lackluster Japanese skills and Google Translate, there is a new showing added for Friday, October 21st at 7:30 pm. Tickets for the showings can be bought at http://l-tike.com/koufuku-dannshi10-5/ (http://l-tike.com/koufuku-dannshi10-5/), the play's website is http://nihonnouta-caravan.com/koufuku/index.html (http://nihonnouta-caravan.com/koufuku/index.html), and all showings will be at the Honda-Geki in Yokohama.
Based on the play's website, tickets look to cost either 4500 yen or 4800 yen. My guess is that the price difference is for tickets bought in advance vs tickets bought at the gate.

I just watched Naruhodo High School from last week, and I can't believe what happened to Natsumi. Being featured was nice, but it wasn't really what I or what she was probably hoping for. At least it didn't seem to bother her. She was laughing about it the whole time. Maybe people will start to feel bad for her causing her to be featured more or at least noticed by more fans.

I honestly don't know.
She has a lot of things going for her. NatsuMicha and 4You had some killer Natsumi footage. In addition, she showed she's quite funny as well, for example in various Nemousu appearances. She's a good dancer too :shakeit:
Maybe she looks to 'western' to appeal to the Japanese fans? Maybe isn't on screen enough to get her name and face out there?
If WH dissolves and OgiPro creates a new unit with Natsumi, Micha, Harugon and/or others, she may be able to revive her idol career.

Natsumi's still around. She's doing stages at least, but she rarely appears in AKB's shows (as far as I know. I haven't watched any in months. XD I know she was in Bimyo a few weeks back), and Ogi hasn't given her anything to do in months. =/ She has a blog here (http://matsubaranatsumi.akb48teamogi.jp/) if you wanted to keep in touch with her, but she doesn't update that often. xP
I miss seeing Natsumi. :( She was doing a lot around the time of her DVDs, but then Ogi suddenly stopped giving her work...

Natsumi is such a likeable, talented, fun, pretty girl. It's a shame she isn't a bit more popular. And indeed, her scenes in the IV's she has been in were nothing short of epic. :drool: I really hope they she will find some more work appealing to her because she deserves it from all I've seen. It's a waste letting that personality(and body) go to waste.

I've only recently been noticing Matsubara, but I glad I have been cus I think she's downright gorgeous. That's really all I have to say about her since I don't know much about her at all XD I hope she can become more popular in the future so I can see her on tv more lol

I always enjoy spotting Nattsumii in the various songs she gets to take part in... her smile always lights up the stage.
I'm guessing that she has been concentrating more upon her acting, I remember seeing that she was in a stage play with Harugon very recently. You can certainly see her confidence in delivering lines in the 1/48 segments posted above.
I loved seeing her perform Kanpeki gu none at the previous Team Ogi festival, and REALLY hoped that she would get a chance in the WH lineup, but I see that's not to be.
I just hope that she doesn't get overlooked.... an absolute beauty, with real talent and presence.

She was the only one of Team A who didn't rank at all, which actually sucks a lot (I don't understand how's possible to not get more promotion, considering her agency, looks and talents). She was part of the preliminars and I expected to see her keeping a spot as part of the single.

I hope management doesn't consider it's too late for Nattsumi to receive a bit of pushing. She has written a few words to her otas on her blog, I was so close to start crying when I finished reading her opinion.
It looks like she was having a hard time while writing this entry. Who wouldn't? Is she disappointed? Is she sad? I would be drowning in a sea of emotions, but isn't she doing her best to actually look forward for something good?
I hope she doesn't graduate any soon; but having so many sister groups and the KKS behind ... it's hard to tell.

I'm so sorry.
Thinking upon how you were feeling when you spent money to buy CDs to vote for me, and how you were feeling when you found my name wasn't in the ranking.... I couldn't stop tears.
And... I wanted to stand on the stage together with other members of team A...
But I also feel that it may be lucky that I could see their faces from the waiting seat (from the stage, she can only see member's back).

Natsumi has had a really bad year. That election must have been so painful. I really wonder how it will affect her outlook on her position in AKB48. What's left for her? What are her targets and dreams? What will she do after AKB48?
She's with a great agency. They have No Sleeves and Warota... Sadly, no good promotion for Natsumi. We got two joined IVs and that's that. I don't get why they decided to give the solo DVD to Komori, lol. Even so, at this point Nonaka may be a more likely candidate to get promoted than Natsumi...
Difficult times. I hope she maintains a positive outlook and stays in the group, because she's pretty damn awesome.

I hope she stays strong, I'm still having faith in her increase of popularity (at least, enough to be rank-worthy again).
She has a lot of good things and, to be honest, I'm excited to see her back as part of Team K: her spark ignites more among a place where dance is the main strenght.

^ Saddening news indeed. I had just started paying more attention to Natsumi ever since I saw her in person last month at Tokyo Auto Salon Singapore. She was so bubbly and beautiful that she left a deep impression on me. I wonder what her future plans are.
Anyway, all the best to her and I hope she'll keep up that bright smile! :)

Natsumi san has been a pleasure to watch these past years, and it is always a sad moment when the news of the graduation of long term
member like her.
She had her hard times, and share of tears, but when she was on stage performing she was dancing like a dream and always smiling.

Oh God... Another 2nd Gen is graduating? :cry:
I was really glad to see her in Kasai's PV teaser earlier today..
But I never expect she'll announce her graduation right after Chiyuu's last performance... :banghead:
She has gone through a lot of hard times where she sheds tears and sweats since she entered AKB. I bet Umechan was really sad when she heard the news, Natsumi is her dance rival after all..

Yeah, I saw her too at the event. Her self introduction caught my eyes and ears pretty well..
But I guess, she made the right choice.. I was really sad to see her depressed expression in the election last year, it's really heart breaking to see it.. :cry: :cry: :cry:
I really hope the brightest future for her. Her appearance in her first Horror movie is quite good.. :D
