^ The hell is that chart Chibs? lol "Wet"? "Dry"?
I was wondering about that too, since the axes didn't make a whole lot of sense to me at first.
What I eventually settled on was that they were probably was referring to vocal qualities.

The x-axis is in terms of "wet" on the left to "dry" on the right, which to me might refer to smoothness vs sharpness or warmth vs brightness.
The y-axis is in terms of "low" at the bottom to "high" on the top, which might refer to range or pitch of a voice.

For example, in both graphs, Maimi is in the lower left, and you could definitely say she has one of the lower voices in H!P.
In her general area of the graph, you see Kaori, Zukki, and Kuduu, other lower-pitched "wet" voices.
A lower-pitched "dry" voice is Yurina.

In contrast, Meimi is one of the squeakier voices (high-pitched, "dry"), which places her in the upper right with Rika, Momoko, and Chinami.
High-pitched "wet" voices include, well, most of the girls who get all of the lines.
This is reflected in the first graph's box that says "Tsunku's favorites?".

If my analysis is correct, I don't agree with all the placements, just as the two graphs don't agree with each other.
I guess it just shows how subjective some of these qualities are.

^ Interesting.  Could never think to categorize voices as wet or dry XD

HEY!! SALIENT Points everyone, mad love to all. we really appreciate y'all speaking up because your input MEANS A LOT and we work daily to build a better place - that saying I saw this and had to clarify a few points.

mske, I've seen you taken the advice and edited your sig, a sure WIN in the HiPeezys! Too bad about your av, I really liked it.  :( It's a free internets - make your own site and be your own boss OR be part of the most POSITIVE PASSIONATE PEOPLE POWER aka :hipheart:

But I guess all you're gonna get out of this is that JPHiP = cupcakes and beer. Which isn't that far from the truth, either.

I  shirenu

To my knowledge, basically the entire income for the forum and the related sites is from selling jphip.com T-shirts.

Yo man, not even Slack, we had sold T-shirts below cost and with the new JPH!P Shop (http://shop.jphip.com) we'd have to sell a shitload to turn a profit. The shirts made for the recent events were at ZERO profit to keep costs low for HiPstaz. Basically: we don't make money off our idols.

BUT THAT'S NOT WHAT WE'RE HERE FOR.

The point is just to have fun and chill with my friends. I am truly blessed to have the founding members still hanging out after all we been through.

JPH!P is built on heritage and the members that were here before us: marimari's intense selfless responsible file sharing, Jabronisaur's caring good-hearted positive attitude, and ChrNo's punny sense of humour and beautiful artwork helped develop our identity to what it is today. And to those who dis jphip, you disrespect their legacies and best believe, I'm a come at you.

Thus you can see, I had a huge problem with "It is just forum." comment.

because JPH!P IS FAMILY! We actually meet up in person or in IRC or Google Chat, we did Skype Sessions, or in any thread you want. Can't find a thread to talk in? MAKE A THREAD!tm And it don't matter if there's a person WHO JUST JOINED! or has 10,000 posts, we just treat em like normal, even me. I'm no bigger than anyone STOP CALLING ME BOSS. Everyone has their tendencies, some like to do it up on IRC, some on facebook, other just want to post nothing but pictures, at the end of the day we are just building a community.

We built JPH!P as H!P fans but flip it as JPHiP and we so much more, first thing we built was forums for porn and sports. We are individuals with different tastes but RESPECT for one another.

HEY! Just look at the that sign spin around wee hee hee (JPHiP Mascot by ChrNo )

BUT SHIT. The more I talk, the more you learn and you already have turbos86. so WHATEVS. And this is a Discssion Forum not a "Thank you" forum, I know we're all addicted to facebook but that was for people to not post just "thank you" and actually encourage ranting and raving like a fucking raging maniac.

HA!

I could go on and on about why the sky is blue, why water is wet but best believe I will pimp Rika 4 LIFE BUT HEY! I actually have to work in 7 hours! WHAT A CONCEPT! Let's just quote my homeslice fellow founding member tamatron エロすぎる\(//∇//)\

JPHiP - Home of the sanest crazy idol fans
Be pervin', no trippin'

We wanna thank all da HiPstaz who DO HELP contribute in their own unique way, to those who volunteer like Slack and pikapikapika doing a BANG UP job with [jphip] FANSUBS

or Amp gathering the troops to give back to one another this holiday season with the SECRET SANTA!!  :mon xmas2: and all the HiPstaz who go out there and throw up the :hipheart: sign - just to name a few! everyone hanging out, I BOW DOWN

From my point of view all i have to say is +1 for new H!P forums... people have to do what they think is better right? so no complains there. But for me a forum focused only in H!P isn't enough so i like that we have many sections like akbar and kpooop stuff and of course the jpop music section (and the future idol subforums    ) but also the other sections like sports, movies and that part where all the HOT GIRLS are posted  our speciality since we are confesed pervs (no reason to denny it)... sorry but i feel that i had to write something  :jphip:

and also we all know that the real baws is ebc right? :cokecat:

I tried to rank as quickly as possible and I'm pretty surprised with the results. I had no idea that I liked Riho(#5) or Nacky(#10) that much.

EDIT:
My Top 5:
Fuku-Chan

Labelling sounds and voices as wet/dry or sharp/smooth always confused me, but probably because I never formally studied this type of stuff in depth, instead always playing it by ear. :P I'm guessing for a voice to be "wet" it means there's a sense of variation or flourish in her singing style, something I've noticed with Mikitty, Miya, and Aichan (all on the left side of both charts), whereas "dry" means generally hitting each note in a more stable and straightforward manner, which is what I've noticed most about Kamei's singing...though the placement of Yaguchi to the right of her kinda throws me off and is a good reminder that I'm probably not the best authority on this. And of course there's Chisato being placed on opposite sides in each chart.

And speaking of charts, it's been a while since I've seen a completed H!P-related ranker, so I'm glad to see this pop up to help me out with who I might like more than others, especially with Aichan gone. Apparently Mano is my #1 out of the current H!P batch, followed by Gaki, Maimi, Sayu, Yurina, and Airi. I guess I like my idols older and/or taller? XD But then right after Airi I have the other Suzuki...meh, it's gonna take me a while to really figure out my own rankings anyway.

# 2 Maimi
# 4 Manoeri
# 4 Airi
# 5 Gakisan
# 6 Reina
# 7 Captain
# 8 Miya

Does how fast you click have an impact on the results? It took me a couple of seconds to click when it was MaimixManoeri, MaimixAiri, ManoerixReina, etc. XD

Also, I'm pretty sure that I could have given Risako a higher rank if her pic appeared at least once

To be honest, I started over halfway too because I voted for the wrong person due to Maimi's hair getting longer and making her look like Nakky again. :P

In other news: C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER!!! Both the topic at hand and the third person in this photo

Either that or Miya managed to get a tan and a face...lift? Face squash? Face/Off?
