The guy who look the least manly and puny, was actually the one who took the most action and totally fearless in stopping the bully ,
...personally I don't think I woulda done anything either, heck for all I know, that guy coulda been a Yakuza member , no way in hell, I'd mess with them
Well, I think part of the reason people may not have stopped is because they didn't know how much trouble the woman was in or why she was being bullied. What if it was her boyfriend and they were just in an argument? I don't know Japanese, so I couldn't tell what they were saying, but it appeared that they were fighting over a cell phone, possibly because the man wanted to see pictures, phone numbers, or recent calls on it. This could just be a jealous boyfriend. I don't think it was clear to the people passing by that she really needed to be saved. Had she called out to the passing men, asking for help, I suspect more of them would have been willing to help her. I think there's a tendency for people not to get involved in situations they don't know enough about, especially if they involve complete strangers. My guess is that's why most of them didn't interfere; the woman didn't ask them for help or even make general cries for help, and she didn't seem to be in real danger because it didn't look overly threatening or violent (they were basically fighting over a phone),. *shrug* Still it was a kind of funny video because you know it's a set up.
Boxy Brown, nice video of the two girls with their pens.
frblckstr1, you use a fountain pen, too? I don't know many people who do. I use my fountain pen most of the time, switching to a ball point when I have to (like addressing envelopes).
