Okay, so I got both the TokurawsSubs AND the TV-N versions of GoOnger Ep 1, and yes, I watched them side by side.

On the whole I've got to say that both groups have done a good job with the subbing. Some of the differences that I noticed were that some of the TV-N translations were rather "literal" or more "formal" whereas the TokurawsSubs would use a more colloquial translation that would sound closer to how westerners normally would speak.

As far as the show itself, I still can't shake the feeling that it's like a sentai version of that "CARS" movie that Disney made. That, and I think GoOn Red's voice irks me even more than Jan's did when Gekiranger started.

Also watched the NeiNei HouHou movie. I was kind of surprised (and even disappointed) that YinLing's character was defeated so early. And DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN Miki and Natsume know how to enjoy a vacation, don't they?

Kiva's 2nd Rider is apparently going to be named Kamen Rider IXA (pronounced "Ikusa"), and his suit will have 2 modes.

I'm actually a bit surprised at this, considering that it's not the Director's Cut (DC hasn't been released yet).

Oh man, [bgcolor=#000000]when Kotaro henshin'd into Sword Form, and the background music suddenly changed key to go up a couple of notches, THAT WAS PERFECT!!! >D

The cameo/guest appearances were cool, even though they were somewhat short.

Wing Form's Hissatsu was a bit of a disappointment though, I've got to say. It was still pretty cool, what with the boomerang-type effect of the scythe hitting him from behind while the hatchet got him from the front...but still....I dunno. *JFC shrugs.[/bgcolor]

KIVA - Not too sure that I like the spinning thing on the Basshaa Magnum. Other than that, it's a pretty cool weapon. I love the way his hissatsu froze the Fangire, then he just walked up to him and flicked him to end it.

As for Basshaa himself, it might just be me, but his human form could easily be mistaken for a tomboyish girl if one didn't see he was wearing shorts or didn't hear him speak.

Jiro in 1986 = absolutely badass.

Looks like we still haven't seen the end of that spider Fangire from the first episode.

GO-ONGER - I hope Birca doesn't do the Latino-speak too often. It sounds rather forced when he does it.

And Gunpei is easily my favourite character out of the 5 of them.

Just watched the whole Den-o series. The last Kamen Rider I watched was RX, when I was like 6 or 7. But then, hearing AAA's song again made me kinda wanna check it out...so ended up watching the whole thing (and downloading the anime spoofs now lol).

I liked it overall. I found it dragging slightly in the middle and I guess the final enemy appeared too late in the series...so in the middle...I felt a bit underwhelmed. And it was too bad that Hana had to leave the show...cause Kohana just seemed lame...and character just sorta faded into the background until they kinda dragged her out in the end. All complaining aside, I enjoyed the series a lot.

Anyway, does anyone know of any good forum/sites that have up-to-date info with Kamen Riders stuff? (den-o...kiba...etc etc)
