Introduction to Mister- Chapter 8 6/28/2016
« on: May 21, 2016, 04:13:30 AM »
Following the wild child gave people a headache.

The rows of butlers they went through had established the nickname for the child.  Eighteen years, hundreds of men, young and old, coming in and out of the house that established the reputation upon the house in Nara.  Open auditions were seemed to be a theme that she would quickly chase them out of the home.  Her parents threatened although never followed with their words of the daughter.

Although the wild child, wasn’t acting out as much as it was given.  She grew furious over ideals that had been set for her.  It was either this or go away.  She had conformed to the idea that she had to be proper.  Proper, to her was, just as it said, proper.  Being free had been set in her mind since then but the beginning had brought a sense of discomfort with hearing about the situation in Tokyo.  At the age of holding up her hand, she began to experience the torture.

What was she able to understand with the resources slowly going over while they were sweeping the dust under the thin rug?  She began the consideration to figure out what was happening.  It was a person she had consulted through her parents that understood her.  For Watanabe Miyuki, she had a trusted friend.  Her lips would reveal what was happening, in many beliefs, what she had thought.  Miyuki used twelve weeks to reveal a secret that haunted her until the final week where she saw the boy beside him.

Her chest filled with butterflies, leaving the room.  His slender hand waved towards her as her mind became entranced by the boy’s gentle look.  The man didn’t solved a problem but befuddled the girl’s attitude.  Every butler had a quirk she had aimed for, annoy them, expose them, and kick them out.  Miyuki was quick with the excuse, planting items to get them rid of like bugs in a garden.  It continued, as a child with every problem in the book was faced with the warning again.

A nod confirmed their hard stance before recurring again.  Miyuki knew as much as watching them leaving disgruntled from the grounds.  The consideration was to meet her step-sister as she overheard that time ago and to meet the boy that took her heart away years ago.  Miyuki acknowledged that time was against her.  Another meeting had been setup upon the utterances from the rest who worked close to her.  This time, she heard of a young man entering.

Her feet took her to the ledge, blocked by a pillar with the rest behind her.  Miyuki glared down with her usual intent when he looked up, hiding behind the wall.  She found the rest by her side.  That feeling came like bag of bricks.  No one had dared to glance up as she pulled herself into the room with the rest following her inside.  The expressions upon their faces brought a sense of Miyuki seeing a ghost when the boy’s face came into mind.  Miyuki turned to the window and traced it upon the pane.

She was going to hate it as much as the next person but she felt sold it was the boy by the confidant.  She pursed her lips and took to her bed with the rest leaving her, waiting for the result of the interview below.  Miyuki battled the tugging of her heart when her eyes closed swiftly.  She thought it had to be a dream that he would return into her life.  The biggest fear was to chase him away if she felt threatened.  The announcement was brief and she turned over in bed.

No response.  As usual, silence ruled the room when the door closed back to the calm she once remembered when a text popped up on the screen.

“He brought a friend… he’s rather cute too.”

Milky clinched the phone and moaned off to the nap.

Yeah although there are the reasons behind her chaos :nervous

Chapter 1

“Miyuki-sama.  Are you up?”

The words awoke the woman.  Watanabe Miyuki turned to the window with the sun coming into sight as she bowed to the maid.  Miyuki drew the thought to return back to bed but stepping on to the carpet into the fluffy slippers when the next maid walked into the room.

“How are you feeling today, Miyuki-sama?”  The other maid asked monotonously.

“I’m fine… when is the butler starting?”  Miyuki asked.

“Today… he has a friend too to help out with Yuppi.”  The first maid responded.

“Are you interested in him?”  The second maid growled.

“Miyuki could be, Akarin!”

“Keicchi, you better stop it.”  The maid warned when Miyuki narrowed her eyes to them.

“What is Yuppi making?”  Miyuki growled.

The maids glanced towards each other, shrugging instantly before walking by them.  Miyuki always knew her parents were gone by the time she awoke at the peak of the sun if not by the sunrise during the latter part of the year.  She strolled down to the smell of meat and toast to the short-haired woman with the red apron, delivering for her upon the glass table at her usual seat, left of the chair where her father usually sat for a meal together.  Her head nodded to the chef when Yuppi smiled back.

“What are you planning today, Milky?”  She asked.

Miyuki knew about Yuppi, Yamaguchi Yuki, when she was hired at a young age after the previous chef retired from the house.  She walked in with a recipe book and a smile.  She had only seen them when she had gotten the interview and from that day, it was seeing Miyuki in her pajamas.  Yuppi was skilled with a knife and her parents were owners of a nearby restaurant.  Yuppi had her own recipes to impress and continued to tweak around the family’s tastes.  Unfortunately, it was only Milky that she got to deal with at a consistent level.

“The usual.”

The answer didn’t shock the chef.  Yuppi gave a firm shrug.  Walking away to make for the rest of the crew as they slowly walked down the stairs to the separate room with the table of a single tulip.  Yuppi walked in with the platter and the three people sitting around it when their eyes turned to the chef.

“You thinking the new butler and the friend would help the girl?”  Keicchi snarled.

“The thing is… Kei.  This one seems to get Milky running.”  Yuppi pointed out.

“Milky hasn’t been like this for a while.  She would usually growl at us or just throw us out of the room.”  Akarin added.

“Anyways… Bacon, sausage, eggs, and rice.”  The dirty blonde walked up with her classic blue plate, scooping up the items on to the surface.

“Kinoshita, what’s your view of it, honestly?”  Yuppi questioned when she turned to place the plate down.

“Milky can’t be fixed.”  She muttered, gripping the spoon.  “This will probably be the last one.”

“The parents will keep going until she leaves in marriage.”  Keicchi added.

Yuppi stood over to Keicchi.  Upon the arrival of the chef, the other three, Jonishi Kei, Yoshida Akari, and Kinoshita Momoka were assisting along the changes as stayover people from Miyuki’s school life.  All throughout their lives had classes with her before she moved to Tokyo for college.  Upon her graduation, the three had stood out to help with her adjustment back in Nara and moved from Osaka to Nara for their new jobs.  Kinoshita, who had a developed crush on Miyuki, was given the job to do maintenance which suited her skills while Akari and Kei were her maids to fill out the team.

“Have confidence, you guys.”  Yuppi growled when the face popped into the room.

“Ah hello!  I’m Yamamoto Sayata.  It’s a pleasure to meet you.  This is my friend, Yuito.  He is helping me to move my stuff into the room.  Can you guys point it out?”  The man with black hair greeted the group when Kei walked out to guide him.

“He is quite cute.  I wonder how Miyuki will test him out.”  Akari commented.

“Whatever she does… it’ll be a fun experience.”  Kinoshita added.

Sayata followed the woman onto the ground floor where the large living area for the family was located before going down the corridor to the room with white signs upon it with the blank one and opened the door to the one bed and closet to the side.  The shades blocked the sunlight into the room before pulling it open.  Kei gave a short nod, leaving the room quickly with the two men.

“Sayata… serious a job like this?”  Yuito scoffed.  “You have a degree in music.”

“I know… my parents are proud but they will always look down upon me if I don’t get a real job.”  Sayata sighed.  “You have an economics degree with a graduate workload and you’re engaged.”

“Don’t make it like I have everything.”  Yuito laughed.  “You just need to be confident in yourself.  I came so I could check out the place.”

“Anyways… we just have to get all these items into my room before anyone else notices and the weird guy out front stops staring at us.”  Sayata noted when Yuito walked out to the hallway and out to the car.

Sayata was a person who feigned by others although within himself he was beyond where he should have been.  Music was a hobby turned passion and eventually his talents brought him to the best music-intensive school in Japan.  Scoring high marks overall, Sayata knew his parents weren’t proud of his accomplishments.  However, the money towards his schooling also gave him a side job in doing work for an investments company as an intern.  Sayata had always obtain a name to input his trades under a shadow account.

The span of three months brought him into the money and distributed to the rest of the portfolio managers as a joke.  He didn’t realize that the people knew about the transaction, illegal to start with, but he had talent to succeed.  Sayata didn’t want to be stuck being in a business suit and insisted to move on to other things, keeping his music options open.

With the odd jobs, his freedom grew but nobody discovered him.  The continuance had forced him to move out and explore around Osaka before having the job in Nara.  He read out the instructions that they were looking for a butler with no experience.  Sayata laughed at it before giving them a call for an interview.  It wound up to be a real job with the room in the nice sunny place with his friend moving his stuff in.

“Okay… a few more stuff.”  Yuito mumbled when the four peeked out to the front room.

“Admirers?”  Sayata smirked.

“Don’t get on our bad side.”  The maids chimed in.

“Just kidding.  I want to take a quick nap before starting up.  Where’s the woman?”  Sayata tilted his head.

“Maybe no time for a nap… Miyuki has an appointment in a few hours so you have to be dressed by noon.”  The chef stepped up and admitted the scheduling.

Sayata grabbed the last box and walked it into his room.  Yuito jogged off into his car and drove off.  The maids handed him two hangers with the all black outfit before bowing him off for the time being.  The blonde followed with a paper of the schedule for the day, circling the first one within an hour.  Sayata rolled his eyes back before slipping into the pressed suit for him.  His droopy eyes scanned the paper again with the events coming back to back when the maid threw him the keys.

Luckily, the license for his driving came years earlier but without the practice and guidance of the roads, he drew upon a blank, and leaving his phone with the temporary GPS system for him.  Sayata glanced up at the dusty, crooked mirror in the corner to fix his suit when the face appeared at the door.  The maid stood and bowed her head to him.

“I’m Yoshida Akari, it is nice to meet you.  Sorry for not being the type to introduce myself earlier.”  She stated.

“Sayata.”  He spoke.  “What about the others?”

Akarin named off the other three that were part of the group to cater to the Watanabe family, technically Miyuki.  Akarin said few words to him when the voice echoed in and left with the two maids meeting at the stairs upon the amber-haired woman walking down with the white blouse tucked into a navy blue dress.  Sayata, from afar, noted the woman named Miyuki and jogged up.

“Sayata… at your service.”  He mentioned, bowing to her before pointing her hand to the door.

“Sayata-san, you have the schedule?”  Miyuki quipped when he ran back to the room.

“This is going to be a long day.”  Miyuki sighed, watching him return with his chest puffing as they walked out to the car.

Chapter 2

Sayata gripped the wheel to the limousine and turned on the engine, hearing the couching of the engine before rumble escaped out into the open air.  Glancing down upon the schedule, he noted the location, punched it into the system before driving off the property.  The phone settled upon the dashboard looking out on to the open road.  Sayata took a deep breath with the womanly voice commanding him to move out onto the main street, feeling out the vehicle.

The red flashing button caught his attention upon the radio and pressed it.  “Baka!”

“Miyuki-sama… what’s the matter?”  He asked calmly.

“Where are you going?  We should have been there by now!”  The roar of her voice drew him back.

“Sorry, just been feeling my way around.”  He said softly, pressing the button as he pulled into the parking lot.

The GPS was right but his driving felt rusty as bad as the sound of the engine.  He turned the vehicle near the walkway, striking the pole lightly, and stopping when he ran around to find Miyuki out of the vehicle.  Sayata swayed his eyes away as she walked into the building.  He turned back to see the three men with cigarettes in hand, puffing away with the snickering of the male.  He swung the door closed ahead of returning back to the driver’s seat to take the final spot in the row.

“Oi!  New person.  Get over here.”  The salt and pepper-colored hair man called to him, running over in the suit that seemed a size too large.  “Kinda big.”

“I have to get this adjusted…”  Sayata bowed.

“So proper… this is the spoiled women crew.”  The other man laughed with a thin moustache and an all-snow top.

Sayata covered his mouth from the smoke, taking a few steps away from the men before returning to the sanctuary of his car.  Taking a few breaths, he noted the service station across the way.  Grabbing his phone, Sayata locked the car as he proceeded out of the lot to the crosswalk to seek the contents of the area.  Given the schedule, it was ample time for the lunch items to be set out in the store, walking in to glance around.

“Irrashai!”  The cashier greeted, nodding to the male.

Sayata quickly scanned the area, the sandwiches were varying and attracted his attention as usual with his small amount he carried around often, grabbing the fruit salad sandwich and juice for himself, and carried it to the counter.  He patted his shirt with the sweat dissipating from the body within the enclosed, cool area.  Paying it off, he grabbed the bag and glanced over to see the mechanics working on the car when one had turned with the black smudge upon the face.  His eyes quickly narrowed when the mechanic came over, grabbing the white towel from the chair.

“Yamamoto?  Sayata!”  The mechanic squealed, grabbing his hands with the greasy grip.

“I… I’m not sure.”  He spoke when the hat came off with the auburn hair flowing out from the head.  “Maachun!”

“You remembered me!”  She laughed.  “You know I’ve been preparing for the contest.”

“You took down the house about my chin.”  Sayata smiled back.

“What are you doing in Nara?”  She asked.

“I’m playing escort to Watanabe Miyuki.”  He snickered.

“The flirt of Nara?”  She spoke loudly.  “She’s bad news.  Every day a new suitor.”

“First time I heard of that, honestly.”  Sayata scratched his head with image in his mind.  “She just yelled at me.”

“Really?  You sure gotten yourself into a nice job… I guess.”  She sighed.

Sayata drew himself back to high school remembering the time Ogasawara Mayu, Maachun, had met him in the hallway.  Being the first year student, Sayata saw her as shy and reserved to work around the aspect of the new school.  He was the gentle soul to point her towards the classroom and moved on when she came back to ask him about the workload.  Her eyes sparkled immediately although keeping his composure, Sayata found the words to deflect the glance.

He found her closer as friend who would hang around him often when time was given and found her comedy to be on point.  Maachun had developed a club to work on manzai as an art and got interested into circuit.  The third semester Maachun had gotten a solo show with the recruiters catching in her act.  Then, she found a partner to complement the solo performance with her boke.  Sayata loved the act and for the final performance she had gotten him into a fit.

After the show, he opened the locker to find a piece of paper upon floor of the area and opened it to be summoned up to the roof.  Sayata heard a rumor about it although the person that came up was her partner, Kotani Riho.  He knew it was true that the rumor had developed into a truth but Riho couldn’t stop what he had thought to be something straight forward.

Riho pulled him away when they arrived to the top upon the cool afternoon.  Sayata admittedly said his peace and that it hurt the future comedian’s pride.  He returned back to her with the rest calling her name.

“It’s nice to see you.”  Sayata smiled.  “Let’s hang out.”

“Oh… sure.  Let me write out my number.”  The woman smiled, grabbing the white paper, smudging it with her finger as she hastily scribbled the number upon the surface.  “See ya.”

Sayata folded it up and placed it into the back pocket, returning to the parking lot with food in hand.  The thought lingered that in the matter of the confession.  Maachun wasn’t late as much as the timing had been bad.  He had broken it off with his previous girlfriend when the relationship between them was closer than usual.  He had been the audience throughout the time with the two performing.  Sayata enjoyed comedy and they were on the spot with their antics.  Forgetting about the time, he had rushed back home before picking her up.

He admitted he was in the wrong but his ex-girlfriend had swung it around on him for cheating.  Maachun was too nice to begin the process to date her and ruin a friendship.  Running into her had brought back the bitter memory, opening up the sandwich and nibble on the edge with the group still talking in the background.  It was difficult to make it up and even admitting that he had come back to congratulate her had drew a sense of pride from either of them to realize the truth.

“Sayata!  On to the next area.”  The voice called, opening the door with the woman approaching.

“Okay… looks like… another interview.”  Sayata confirmed, moving the sandwich from his mouth to the seat next to him.

With the other cars moving ahead, he had sat with the vehicles and took another bite when he pulled out to the road ahead.  Punching in the next location, he swung the right at the corner with the large vehicle jerking dramatically with the grunt escaping from the back.  Sayata glanced back and forth to the phone and the area before noticing the sign to pull into the underground parking lot with a portly man waving him into the area.  He pulled into the stall when he swept around to see the security escorting her out.

The day brought out a pace of stop and go until the sunset when he drove her back with the wrappers of the convenience store food near his feet.  Sayata pulled towards the front and opened the door for the woman as she walked out of the limousine into the house.  He drove the car back to the garage with the blonde sitting in the front glaring at him with a bucket and sponge.

“Got to clean up too.”  She groaned.  “I need something to do anyway so I can help you out.”

“Thanks… do you mind telling me your name?”  Sayata bowed slightly when she let out a laugh.

“It’s Kinoshita.  Call me that and you can deal with the rest later.”  She laughed as Sayata swept the front with the nearby broom.  “My biggest question is… do you have a mate?”

Sayata shook his head.  “I’m single.”

“I guess no one won the pot.”  She laughed.  “Surely, I thought you were taken.”

“I’ve been single for a while with my job hopping.”  He explained, dropping the rubbish into the trash can.

“Scratched the car well too.”  Kinoshita smiled.

“Not used to the big cars.”  Sayata nodded back when he came with a bottle.

“I’ll shine it up… anyways welcome.  Miyuki usually is here alone and does what she can but she sneaks out a lot.”  The blonde commented.  “Many worry when her parents come back but it always ends up in the newspaper.”

“No matter what it is lose-lose for me.”  Sayata scoffed.

“I wouldn’t think too much that way… we all don’t blame her.”  The blonde lowered his eyes.

Sayata didn’t take long to ask about the story and it came like water from the faucet.  Wiping down the car, he had always considered that if there was a way to curb it but that was probably the usual if not expected.  With the car cleaned, he headed into the house through the garage entrance with the two maids and the chef in the living room with their eyes upon the new butler.

“No girlfriend.”  Kinoshita informed them with the collective growls.

“Are we staying up in case of emergency?”  Akari asked.

“It’s Sayata’s job.”  Kei pointed towards him.

“I’ll just be in my room.”  Sayata rolled his eyes when Miyuki watched the door being closed from the opposite side.

“Is he gone?”  She asked when they nodded in unison.  “He’s horrible.  I was late to everything.”

“It wasn’t his fault, Milky.  You could have come down earlier and not force him to rush you around.”  Yuppi roared at the woman.

“I don’t care.  No excuses.”  Miyuki snarled.  “I have a date with the son of the magazine executive.”

“Give us a ring when you’re done.”  Kei spoke with the woman nodding to them.

“Surely, I hope this one won’t be a douche…”  Miyuki sighed, walking out to the gate to the red Ferrari and walked in with the mid-thigh length black dress and heels, driving off into the night.

Sayata has it tough with princess Milky lol. Kinoshita surely knows a lot about the princess that she's probably worried. I wonder what's with the collective growls when they found out Sayata is single though lol

Could be something from the past... just something unusual for them I guess XD

Chapter 3

Miyuki knew if the date was going to work out to something magical.  She had been through too many to consider and would land her in the news.  No one had stopped her from pursuing it but the interesting theme was the men were handsome and rich.  Miyuki had little to deal with that fact but seemingly there was intent behind her dating choices.

“Hayato… it’s nice to meet you.”  Miyuki placed the smile upon her face.

“Miyuki… you look better than what the website and the newspaper show you as.”  He replied, driving off onto the street

She always recalled the first date.  It was the worse.  Everything seemed out of place and with her eyes upon the parents, she hated the atmosphere before quitting half way with the meddling of the adults in the room.  At age sixteen, she despise the situation of the date with the boy staring back at her without one word of the conversation being returned.  Miyuki swore that she would take over her life and chose who she wanted.

Many were quite interesting throughout her college career as they were equal intellects.  Miyuki held back her secret although knew about her father’s affair with that woman in Tokyo.  She grew bitter and upon turning twenty, she had finally let herself go wild.  Weekend after weekend was drinking parties and sleeping over at the all-male dorms.  Adjusting to the lifestyle, she kept only one thing but it was also the hardest to seemingly release until the club leader of the fashion area, explored her body for the first time.  The moment felt beautiful and calmed her fears with involving her boyfriend at the same time had wiped away the discomfort of the situation.

“Where shall we go?  French?  Italian?”  Hayato spat out the suggestions.

“Find a quiet place.”  Miyuki sighed, turning to her phone.

“Already judging me at the get go.”  He scoffed.

“Actually, some of the numbers came in from the Nara branch.  I never had time to look over it.”  Miyuki recalled, pulling up the briefing from the meeting.  “Don’t you look over the accounting?”

“When I’m not driving.”  Hayato laughed.  “French, I guess.”

Miyuki blocked out the last words when she saw the briefing and let out a soft groan.  Her father surely left the branch down in the tubes when he took the brain trust to Osaka.  She was fully opposed to it upon what the thriving community had called out for.  Once he skipped out on the one night, he rarely came back and thus left her with the weight of the Nara branch.  “Third quarter in a row…”

Her eyes peered up upon the slight breeze blowing inside, closing her phone quickly as the clacking of her shoes created a ruckus in her mind still deep in the consideration of the numbers.  Miyuki hated to be in the mood of trying to flake out but the immediate temptation drew her back to the situation at hand and shook it off as they were escorted to the table with the bottle of wine in a gold vessel, resting in the bath of ice.

“I can’t drink.”  He smiled, gripping the bottle in one hand and opener in the other.  “The waiter just left it here…”

Hearing the cork pop, Miyuki drew back to the male with raven black hair, combed perfectly in the middle with her toned face drawing the rest of the light within the room.  The red elixir came out like river into her glass and held it with the warmth of the room and placed the glass to the side.  “Not in the mood… anyways you called me not here for anything but a date.”

“Why are you ruining the fun?”  He sneered, gripping the water glass.  “You should at least drink to rid of the grumpy look.”

“Not like it has been worthwhile to drink after seeing the numbers.  Perfectly you would call me during an interview.”  Miyuki explained, glancing down at the menu.  “I’m not going to let you butter me up either.”

“Feisty woman, hear her roar.”  He snarled at her.  “It’s going to be a fun takeover.”

“I still have assets you could never buy so let’s get the dinner over with like business partners rather than your smaller head winning over the bigger one.”  Miyuki assessed her needs although Hayato was probably winning over the battle as they spoke.

Miyuki knew Hayato although keeping names aside on the service, it was only a matching service and walking up to the car, and she didn’t have any qualms about it but to be normal.  She wanted a date more to acknowledge where she was at rather than the performance of her company that was left tattered after the move to Osaka.  Hayato wasn’t the classic enemy, he was the epitome of torture for her.  She wanted to get over the fact that they managed to find each other after the graduation from business school.

“Before I drive you home, you must know that I’m hoping for the dessert you gave other men.”  Hayato smirked.

Miyuki drew the smile and stood from the table.  Walking to the waiter, she gave the slanted eyes and immediately pacing over to the table.  She continued into the bathroom, hitting the phone icon.  “This guy…”

“Miyuki?  Why are you calling me?”  Sayata groaned.

“I’m out at the Éclair de Jour.  Pick me up.”  Miyuki quipped.  “You went to sleep… this early… baka.”

She sat in the bathroom with her phone on her lap with little reservation upon the seat.  The phone lit up with a message from Kei and swiped it open.

[Another one?]

[Kei… I’m getting sick of it.]  She wrote.

[You have to stop and relax at home.  Yuppi made sukiyaki for us.  Why don’t you join us?]

[I’ll do that.  Did Sayata leave?]

[He just pulled out.  Don’t make it hard on him.  He’s cute.]

[Shut up about that… you’ve been screwing with Akarin since you’ve laid eyes upon her]  Miyuki typed out and sent it, followed with a feint smirk.

Miyuki turned over her phone with the thoughts turning to the maid she had grown up with within the house.  Her parents were killed early in her life and had been adopted by the family.  Miyuki related to her as a sister, rarely showing her superiority towards her.  Kei had been a bit younger and never attended the same school as Miyuki but to distinctly mask her identity and relationship, Kei had an apartment when she was a high school student, fully paid by Miyuki’s parents.

In return, she had the choice of college or to become a work-in maid to make up the costs.  Kei was good but not great as a student and even with the encouragement from her boss, she decided to take the maid job.  She was observant of her behavior once Miyuki had graduated and sought to find the root problem when she saw it upon the television screen once, turning it off when Miyuki came into the room.

The secret in itself was the grudge when she wanted to go to Tokyo to confront her.  Kei knew it too well but kept it between them and when Miyuki had her distractions, Kei had been the first to step inside the room to comfort the woman of the troubles upon her mind.  Miyuki had only allowed Kei her number in case of emergencies and to confirm the house was under control.

The vibrations brought her back to the reality when she saw the message pop up and the woman pushed into the bathroom.  “Your ride is here.”

Her eyes peeked out to the male with his bed head and messily buttoned shirt with the small smile.  Miyuki stepped out with her eyes swaying left to right before strolling up to the butler and forced her arm out.  “Hope you came sooner.”

“Sorry… I wasn’t sure if you were needing my help.”  Sayata smirked.

“Fine.  Next time… you can always escort my date to the restaurant.”  Miyuki narrowed her eyes towards the butler.

“I guess you can probably hold your seat, right?”  Sayata pointed to the car when she saw a figure by it.

“Kei?  What is she doing here?”  Miyuki rushed up to the maid.

“She was outside by the door when I got the call and I told her to come along.”  Sayata explained, following the woman up to the car.  “She told me a bit about your guys’ relationship.”

“I see.”  Miyuki quipped, stepping into the back of the limousine.

She sat back with Kei when their eyes crossed again before turning up to the ceiling of the car.  Miyuki pursed her lips when she felt a light tap upon the shoulder.  Turning back, she was certain that her mind needed to be unloaded but the date in itself was disastrous with little fanfare.  “That was seemingly quick.”

Kei nodded, “I was surprised by Sayata.”

“What do you mean?”  Miyuki tilted her head.

“He told me to come with him since I was by the door like usual.  I guess he saw me and just dragged me along.  It was a bit shocking that I got to ride in the limousine.”  Kei explained with a huge smile.  “It was a bit dashing.”

“I guess it was instincts, that’s all.”  Miyuki held a smug look as the gates opened to the house and pulled inside with the rest of the members peeking out from the room.

Sayata locked the car when he saw a flash from the bush.  Letting out a hum, he closed the garage and strolled into the room of the hot dinner for the patrons of the house.

Poor Milky... Seriously can't say anything more. ;(

The honest part is I have a tortured Miyuki... I like to have her tortured for this story so it'll continue regardless.  Although I think the readers are waiting for something....  oh well

Chapter 4

“Good job for your first day!”  Yuppi greeted the male, taking a seat between Kei and Kinoshita.  “You don’t mind the broth?”

“As long as I don’t eat meat.”  Sayata smiled to the disapproved eyes of the rest of the group.  “Yeah… I’m a vegetarian.”

“Weird… I never heard of anyone like that.”  Miyuki snarled, turning her head back to the bowl of rice in front of her.

“She’s thanking you for saving her.”  Kei elbowed the butler.  “Maybe also having me come along.”

“It was something anyone should do.”  Miyuki quipped between bites as Sayata received his bowl, picking out the mushroom and cabbage from the pot.

He sat with his lips near the bowl, kissing it with the chopsticks moving quickly of the combination soup and rice with the contents into his mouth.  He chose to not eat meat since learning about the torture but his thinking that it was phase like his parents until he found a calling for a club and decided to be meat-free all the way.  Sayata kept to his word when she felt the other maid’s elbow into his side.

“Why are you single?”  Akari questioned with the rest of the eyes except Miyuki staring back at him.

“Is it difficult to believe that?”  Sayata uttered.

“Don’t tell me you broke up with your girlfriend before you came here?”  Akari followed.

“I haven’t had one for a while.  I’ve been working to make money and had no time for a girlfriend.”  Sayata explained when Kinoshita raised her chopsticks.

“Seems reasonable.”  She agreed.

“I still sense he was going forward with a plan.”  Akari thought when Kei came from the other side and smacked here.  “Itai!”

“Akarin!  I believe in Sayata.  I don’t think him and Miyuki fit.  He seems earnest with what he was doing and probably saw something on the horizon but couldn’t do it because of heart.”  Yuppi intruded into the conversation.  “Sorry for all that… we’ve had people hit on her off the bat.”

“I don’t feel any pain upon my ego.”  Sayata snickered.  “I’ll be heading into my room.”

Dropping his bowl into the sink, he picked up the pad and washed his dish before greeting them night when Kei slapped her partner on the head again.  “Don’t force him to run away.”

“He convinced you.”  Akari moaned.

“I still have my doubts but hell if he wasn’t there Miyuki would be in major distress.”  Kei retorted, hearing the rumble from the table.

“I’m going to sleep.”  Miyuki placed her bowl into the sink and walked off to the room.

The four stared at each other before turning back to their meals.  The rare occasion of silence between them had brought a sense of alertness when the two maids reported to Miyuki and Kinoshita skipped off to the post in front with the cook left to clean up the dinner.  Yuppi quoted the thought from Akari and knew that he seemed different than the rest at the start.  She didn’t question anybody until the end when they decide to quit if Miyuki had her issues and turned back to hear footsteps from the door with the male by the hallway.

“Sayata… are you okay?”  Yuppi asked softly.

“Just a bathroom break.”  He exhaled.  “That was great.”

“Thanks… I want you to tell me more about yourself.  If you are going to be here for a while, better be clean with me.”  Yuppi drew the half-smile.

The male sat across of the motherly woman explaining his past like a book.  Yuppi nodded upon the events and noticed Sayata as a man who had his passion only to be set back by himself or others.  She questioned him directly with the reason behind decisions he had made in the past.  Sayata kept a straight forward demeanor although wearing upon the long day, he had been set to sleep at the table before the cook sent him off to his room.  She glanced at the clock, knowing the early morning, and closed the light to her room adjacent to the kitchen area.

Sayata awoke to the peeking sunlight and turned over onto the floor, landing upon his toes when he ran out to see Kinoshita walking over with the schedule.  He glanced down to see an empty morning when he glanced up upon the blonde standing in front of him.

“She has nothing to do?”  Sayata pondered.

“I’m not sure… The maids have said the same thing.”  Kinoshita informed him.

“Is she actually in the room?”  Sayata thought.

“She has to be… unless… Kei!  Akarin!  Open the room.”  Kinoshira shouted, running up the stairs.

Sayata threw a shirt on as she sat upon the bed, staring out from the window.  The long, brown hair flowed out from the gentle breeze with the group watching her from the distance.  Kei lowered her head, entering into the room with her heavy footsteps upon the marble flooring.

“Miyuki… everyone was wondering if you’re okay.”  Kei said in a low voice.

“I’m fine.”  She answered.

“That’s good to hear.”  She said, walking out when she turned with her face smeared with makeup.

“What made you guys charge in?”  She asked, looking around when she grabbed a towel and covered her face from the eyes down.

“Sayata… he wanted to know.”  Kinoshita called out.

“Oh…?  Must be surprising that I have nothing to do~” Miyuki chimed when he stepped up to the front.

He pursed his lips.  The initial thought caught him before saying it but he wanted to confirm what happened last night wasn’t inflicting upon the stress she had been under.  Sayata straightened his shirt and tugged down upon his half-dressed demeanor.

“Just checking, Miyuki-san.”  He stated.  “Last night…”

“You don’t know!”  Miyuki growled.  “Just leave!”

Sayata promptly stepped back and walked down the stairs with the cook staring back at him as he passed her.  “She’s fine.”

Kinoshita paced down when she turned into the room with the eyes scanning the newspaper upon the table.  The blonde was quite fond of the current events before the eyes caught upon an article.  The jaw dropped to the floor with the cook peeking over to the headline of the business news.  The quick glance to each other brought realization of her anger.  Sayata being caught in the crossfire was bad enough to deal with the moody woman but news was becoming huge with authority.

“What’ll happen?”  Kinoshita thought.

“I’m not sure either but being in that mood will only confuse everyone.  Get Akari and Kei down here.  I’ll go see if she’s hungry.”  Yuppi directed the blonde as they both headed up the stairs with the cook entering into the room.

“Yuppi… what’s wrong with me?”  Miyuki moaned, hearing the closing of the door behind them.  “I’ve been pushing hard.”

“I know.  Although you shouldn’t have directed that anger towards Sayata or anyone else.  I can’t really help you anyway to keep this afloat.”  Yuppi ran her fingers through the woman’s hair.

“The thing is… I can’t live out my lifestyle anymore or pay you guys.”  Miyuki sighed.

“I would do anything for you.  Everyone here is family.”  Yuppi smiled.  “We can downsize.  You also have the funds left…”

Miyuki quickly swung her eyes out to the window.  She knew what had happened with it and being washed away in a bad deal.  There were few options to work around that she knew of and the last thing was to declare for bankruptcy.  The fear was her going into the room to confront the managers for her own sake.  She bit her tongue before turning back to the cook.  “Get Sayata and tell him sorry.  Also, I need to head into the branch headquarters.”

“Surely.”

The cook ran down to see the neatly dressed man at the base of the stairs with Kinoshita explaining the situation with a firm expression.  Yuppi nodded and drew a happy expression upon her face.  “Drive her to headquarters.”

“Okay.  I’ll be in the car.”  Sayata nodded, turning to his phone with a message upon the screen.

[Are you free anytime soon? –Maachun]

[Whenever I have the time.  You want to have tea or coffee?]

[Drinks.  I need something so we can catch up.]

Sayata laughed at the message.  Maachun was rarely one to not be blunt and drinks for old time sake was an idea that would be easy to conform.  He typed out the message for his reply when he placed the phone down to the side, hearing the door closed behind him.  He sat there when Kei tapped on the window, handing him a piece of paper with the address to punch it in as they got out of the garage when the window behind lowered.

“I need to confess that I never treat people great.  I’m sorry for everything this morning but once it comes out… Drive me home immediately.”  Miyuki instructed, rolling up the window behind him and driving per his GPS directions.

Bankruptcy is a long process she wants to avoid although made worse with her father's reputation :nervous

Chapter 5

“Everyone, clean out your offices!”  She commanded through the speaker.  “Now!”

Miyuki heard the murmuring although she had always accepted responsibility when Sayata pulled into the building’s parking lot.  He swung the vehicle up to the elevators and stopped promptly.  He ran to the other side, opening the door for the woman as she walked out in the black blazer and slacks to the area when Sayata bowed his head.

“Anything else?”  Sayata asked.

“For now… you can go home.  I have stuff to do here.”  Miyuki groaned when the doors opened and nodded her head.

Sayata hopped into the car and drove away, keeping the phone on the dashboard.  He kept his mind upon if Miyuki had been alright to head to the workplace.  He left his thought that Yuppi would be there to guide him around the woman when he arrived back with the maids up front by the doorway as he pulled into the garage.  Grabbing his phone, he had remembered her words although it could have been a trap.  He sought the number and called it a few times before she answered.

“Sayata… problem?”  She asked.

“I wanted to know when would be a good time.”  He sternly questioned.

“I have to get everyone out of the office and then I’ll give a call to Kinoshita.”  She replied promptly before hanging up the phone.

“She told you to drop her off although it was meant to tell you stay on premise?”  Yuppi chimed.

“My fault.”  He nodded.

“Just go back.”  She smiled when he jumped back into the limousine and drove back to the parking lot.

His mind was blank of anything although the concerned was hinging upon Miyuki as he parked the car in the first stall of the empty lot.  The phone was the only distraction in his possession and saw a new message pop up on to the screen.  Sayata drew back to the past with the texts about Riho as Maachun had a strong bond with the woman who had become an entertainer in her own right, B-level comedian.  Maachun, in Sayata’s mind, would have been in the A category if she continued when the phone rang.

“Hello?”  He answered promptly.

“How’s been the job?”  The voice asked when he glanced down at the phone.

“Yuito… why is your number foreign to me?”  Sayata questioned.

“Oh I got a new phone.  Paru had gotten a new promotion so I got a new phone under her line.”  Yuito explained, hearing a rough voice in the background.  “Sorry I thought I had some time to burn.  Bye!”

He let out a chuckle after the brief exchange when he glance back at his phone.  Sayata always left an impression upon people and never would dare flake them.  He let out a sigh as the only thing that would seem to release his fear to rebel against his former self was to try his luck.  Sayata saw the time on the device to give a follow up call.

“Sayata… what is it this time?”  She snarled.

“I was wondering if you wanted something to eat.  You’ve been up there for a while.”  Sayata inquired with the gentle tone.

“Hm… I guess so… but I’m also trying to resolve some other things at the moment.”  Miyuki thought, leaving the empty pockets of concerns along the lines when Sayata lowered his eyes.

“Let me get you something.  At least you wouldn’t be hungry.”  Sayata suggested hearing a groan from the other side.

“Sure… I’ll send security down.”

Sayata twiddled on the phone again as the job called for his work when he heard a tap on the window.  The huge, thick-necked man peered in when Sayata popped the door from the driver’s side, sliding into the compact seat, having his legs almost reaching his chest appearing like a ball of meat in front of him.

“Did she mention where?”  Sayata asked to the shrug of the bigger male.

“She’s quite busy after firing everybody on the floor.  Milky is trying tie up the loose ends on termination deals at the moment so she is beyond stressed.”  The man reported when Sayata exited from the driver’s door.

“Let’s take a walk instead.”

“There’s a place I usually go to that I have quietly suggested to her.  Miyuki seems quite picky about her food.”  The man sighed as Sayata’s eyebrows were raised from the previous night.

“Let me see if there is something worthwhile.”  Sayata pondered when he followed the large man.

Sayata learned more about the situation from the guard as Miyuki had fired the executives and took over the day to day with the intention to make a move towards a drastic change within the next 48 hours.  He imagined that Miyuki was placing the company upon the shoulders and avoiding the words from everyone as she was in the abandoning position when he used his large digit to direct to the small shop.

“Irasahai!  Noh-san, ohayou!  Ohisashiburi.”  The man with thick eyebrows greeted the two.  “He looks new.”

“This is Miyuki’s driver, Sayata.”  Noh introduced the smaller male to the front person.

“Competition, eh?”  He laughed.  “Just kidding… You want your usual?  And for Sayata, he picks these three bentos in front so one would be great for you.”

He peered over the selection to a chicken dish in a brown sauce over rice, breaded pork cutlet with the cranberry-colored sauce, and the final one was the glistening skin of the broiled fish with rice to the side.  Sayata turned to find a bowl of steamed vegetables with a container of rice, bringing up both when the larger man placed the money on the counter.  The thick-browed man stared upon the selection and gave the change back, packing it up before they left the shop when they took a few steps out onto the street.

“I didn’t know you were a vegetarian.”  He snickered.

“Yeah… three?”  Sayata questioned when he lowered his eyes.

“To be honest… I usually leave one for Miyuki when she is in the office but I wouldn’t know with her schedule.  In the end, my wife and child usually eat it.”  Noh informed him.  “Miyuki is such a tortured soul that even my wife had been afraid when they first met but… I’m old.  Why would I mess around with a beautiful wife and child?”

Sayata nodded to his words as they entered back into the parking lot when he immediately closed the door behind them.  The hordes of reporters were growing outside the front through the small mirror exposed through the parking lot.  Sayata noticed the police around the building carefully forming a line.  He feared the news hadn’t been great when he stood five paces behind Noh when the doors opened.

“You can come in.”  He grinned.

Sayata tilted his head, proceeding forward to the elevator.  The closing of the doors prompted the decision to follow through as the sound of metal upon metal hurt his ears with the speed forcing his head to shrink when it pulled to the 12th floor and glanced around to the only room directly in front of them and followed the larger man to the door, opening it wide to Miyuki standing by the window, staring out onto the streets below.  Noh paced up to the table with Sayata following him and took a step to the side.

“Noh… did you let him in?”  She snarled.

“Yes!  I wanted to.”  He answered firmly when she glanced at the food.

Sayata saw the flame in her eyes.  He froze upon the stare she gave Noh.  The assurance was him standing in front of the owner of the company with his shoulders back and the rock hard glare given back to the much smaller woman.  He kept his lips pursed until taking the step forward.

“I’ll head back downstairs.”  Sayata broke the silence.

“You’re staying!”  Miyuki responded quickly.  “I needed some space but the silence is too much so I want you to keep me company.  Noh take your meal with you.  The riot will start anytime soon, keep the people stable for the day.”

“Yes, ma’am!”

Miyuki turned her eyes upon the driver and pointed to the chair to the side of him.  “Sit.”

Sayata pointed his eyes downwards, unwrapping his food in front of the woman as she grabbed the chicken bento.  He saw a smile grow upon her face before peering up with chopsticks in hand.  Sayata stared from his position, opening his containers in front of him with the wooden chopsticks planted in his bag and then placed the soggy piece into his mouth.

“I want to place this proposal in front of you.”  Miyuki spoke.  “How about I raise your pay to help me rebuild?  Everyone will be involved somehow and it’ll be better to get our skills together.”

“I have no business experience though…”  He stated with a smile growing upon her face.

“That’s the best part of it.  I need fresh ideas and we can work around that fact.”  Miyuki smiled, placing the piece of meat into her mouth.  “I want to try to not let the ship sink.  It’ll be us as a group to finally push what was direly needed, direction.”

The quick nod came from Sayata and continued his meal in peace.  Miyuki glanced up with their eyes meeting when his phone vibrated and opened it up to see a text from Maachun.

“Do you mind I have some time with an old friend who came into town?”  He asked when Miyuki moved her head.

“Sure.  It’s depressing here so drive back and you can go.”  Miyuki grinned as they wrapped up the bentos again and drove out the other way through the alley and back to the main street with the eyes upon the crowd growing outside the building.

“This has to work.”

Chapter 6

“Is this a bit too much?”

Sayata stood frozen upon the glance of his date.  He was led to think it was an outing but her red top with the black skin-tight skirt caught his eye when he escaped the house in his collared shirt and jeans.  His wandering eyes caught the whole view when the question was asked again.

“That’s fine.”  He hiccupped.

“Oh?  Still quite modest.”  She laughed, snickering towards the end.

The view differed from before when he had met her at the gas station.  Her hair was let down with clean reflection upon her face.  The black-smudged appearance was the façade to get her inner charm while what he had observed was her being the type to evolve from the cocoon of high school to the societal butterfly of adulthood.

Sayata kept his hands to the side while he pondered over her direction with Mayu’s eyes turning away.  “I shouldn’t have really don this.”

“It looks… nice on you.  I didn’t know you were actually cute… I mean you actually catch people’s eyes.”

Sayata quickly bit the tongue on his words.  She laughed at him.  It was natural to laugh out the awkwardness between them.  Sayata saw the woman reacting as usual and followed her to the nearby izakaya.  The man with round glasses greeted them with a firm smile, showing his wrinkles from cheeks, and guided them to the open room.

“Miyuki finally gave you a break.”  Maachun exhaled.

“It’s been a ride with her.”  Sayata admitted with a smile.  “Too bad Ripopo wasn’t here… she would have been the type to see you in this dress.”

“She chose it.”  Mayu quipped.  “Surprised, ya?”

He nodded quickly.  Out of the people, Riho was the least to start on anything with fashion or trying to woo Maachun out of her usual wardrobe but he felt amazed that she had dressed up compared to him.  The man returned with a porcelain container of sake and two white cups on the plate, sliding them on to the table.

“Anytime you want to order, ring the bell.”  He smiled, leaving the two alone, and sliding the door.

“The job must be great.”  Sayata spoke, breaking the silence within the room.

“It has been.”  Maachun spoke softly, holding the container in hand as Sayata put his cup forward.  “The move has been hard though with my parents telling me to search outside of Osaka for a job.”

“Same.”

Taking the cup, he raised it up as Maachun did the same and tapped it together before letting the smooth, warm elixir flow down his throat.  He felt his chest thump with every second of glancing upon the elegancy of the person across of him.  Sayata didn’t accept that it was her as much as he didn’t want to change the fact that the friendship was cherished with the bond they had created.  His mind reverted to the moment when they split.  The new semester was starting and he was off.  Years seemed to change the emotion brought between them as they arrived back in the room when she leaned in.

“Another cup?”  She asked softly.

“Sure.  Don’t be so ladylike.”  He chuckled.

He swore if it was the alcohol, it would have been doom as she smiled back towards him.  Sayata wasn’t certain of anything but how beautiful she actually was across of him.  Sayata bit hard upon his tongue again, swallowing it with the warm alcohol as her eyes glanced upon the paper menu.

“In all that time, I never accepted that you were rejecting me.”  She sighed.  “I always thought that Ripopo was trying to keep me up with that hope but she finally made sure I didn’t have those feelings again.”

“We are friends.  We still are.”  Sayata drew a happy expression.

“I know~ just that hope that it’ll be that one date that would prove it wrong.  Like everything, I needed to be set that we are friends.  You were firm that you weren’t interested in me but when I saw you again.  All the guys teased me.  I was the runt that wanted to be one of them but my heart broke out of the darkness after we went our separate ways.  I feel weird now.”

Sayata nodded to the explanation.  He had asked the question over and over in his mind that, what if, he was brave enough to ask.  Ripopo had always been the mediator and now without that it felt like a fog of stress when the bell broke his concentration.  His eyes swayed to the door and pointed towards the kushi katsu.

The man took the order before closing the door again and turning back to Maachun.  He honestly hadn’t imagined that the next time after she would be gussied up in something that his dates would wear and not to hang out at bar like friends.  “You do look wonderful.  I wanted to know that you were waiting?”

“I won’t answer until we take another drink.”  Maachun smirked back, pouring the cups and repeated the process.  “Sayata-kun has always been the nicest person to ever come around me.  I could never talk bad about him and even I thought many times you should have dated some of the other girls and chose me.”

He let out a laugh into the room.  “Do I regret it?”

The question paused the conversation.  The answer seemed harder in retrospect.  Maachun had never been the one to stand out based on beauty but she was the type to cheer you up and approach you when she was troubled.  It was her personality that was probably the best out of the people he knew but to have such bonds had haunted him personally.  He was aware of how things were going with his other classmates.  Mistakes seemed to come from the people when he felt the lips dried again, sliding the cup forward.

“No.  I don’t but that was the past.”  Sayata answered softly, kicking back the alcohol into his throat.

Her eyes swayed away with the sliding door opening again with the hot food and another container of sake being delivered, replacing the previous one as the door closed again.  Mayu placed a skewer upon the table, removing it quickly and pushing it upon the main plate while Sayata was deep in the thought of the words that were being released.  Grabbing a sweltering piece from the other side, he placed in his mouth, bouncing it quickly as his teeth dove into it to cool off the piece before swallowing it halfway.

“I won’t make you regret it.”  Maachun spoke firmly.

“Regret what?”  Sayata raised his eyebrows.

“This night.”  Maachun spat.

“Truthfully…”  Sayata spoke when he took another shot.  “Was this meant to be a date?”

“I thought so… maybe I wasn’t be forward but I want this as a date.”  Mayu admitted with a growing smile.  “We don’t have to.”

“Let’s just make it that way to relive our memories.”  Sayata agreed with a grin and another drink.

He hadn’t imagined it from the start that Maachun was a different person that was being expected.  She was beyond the comedic persona but caring and sweet.  Keeping a sense of her bluntness, Sayata saw the other side through the drinking and the merriment that he had stared upon the woman with her crimson cheeks and imagined what had taken him to not pursue such a crime from what he had recalled from before.  Maachun was seemingly that person who had listened to him and had his back from high school.  Now through the nostalgia, he had been filled with the memories for the time being.

“Shall… I take you… home?”  Sayata wavered in his seat.

“I would… would be… honored.”  Maachun answered when they both stood, imagining the ground shaking below them as they reached out for the door.

They dropped their shares upon the table, waddling out with the loud laughs out into the outside when Maachun directed Sayata in her direction.  He trailed her with his heavy footsteps with the smell of her perfume tickling his nose with the alcohol from her breath mixing in the air.  He couldn’t remember a time where being drunk and enjoying the moment had brought him into the blissful experience, continuing along the path while they talked about Ripopo before she pointed to the building.

“That was fun!”  She yelled.

“It was… for a date.”  Sayata smiled.

“That was beyond my dreams for you and me to be on this adventure.”  She smiled, looking up to the moon.  “Ripopo would have made it awkward.”

“True.  Hope you won’t be too hung over.”  Sayata smirked when she nodded and grabbed the gate.

“Wait!”  She yelled.  “I have a question.”

Drawing closer to him, her lips peered up as Maachun’s eyes met up with the male.

“What is it?”  He asked.

“Is it too much for a kiss on a first date?”  She breathed.

“Your choice.”  He answered when he felt the pair press up to him.

The sudden warmth brought him into a sense of peace, his hands forming around her hips.  His mind became blank upon the decisions and accepted it as for the brief moment he saw her as something different when she turned around, colliding with the gate.

“Bye!”

He wouldn’t have said anything but the night seemed to draw back to the moment of that kiss he could recall from.  The next moment of waking up in his bed reminded him of that kiss and glanced at the phone with a text from Maachun, thanking him for last night, and another chance of a get together.  His choice was capitalized as he nodded to it when Yuppi greeted the male with his head stuck between the clouds and the thick fog from the previous night.

I dont even know if Miyuki will get mad if she founds out. Lol

That's probably the bigger thing entering into the mess.

Chapter 7

“The building is on the market.  Sell everything.  We need to find a new spot.  Everything is on the line for now.”

Miyuki ventured between the bedroom and the nearby inlet where she held stuff, emptying it out for the new office space.  She was weary to work from home but the other issue was on her mind when she heard a ring from her phone.  “Hello?”

“The house is on the market?”  The voice asked.

“We are going to be placing it onto the market and making a new office slash living space in the city.”  Miyuki explained her intentions with the lump growing in her throat.

“Okay.  Let’s get this thing rolling.  How far are we looking at?”  The voice asked again.

“Wherever we can gain a space.”  Miyuki spat.

“I’ll get in contact with a broker and speak with them.”

Miyuki threw the phone onto the bed as the eyes stared from the end of the hallway as she quickly glanced away.

“Have some breakfast before you pass out.”  Yuppi breathed.  “I made pancakes.”

“Okay…”

The woman dropped the box onto the floor and followed the group down to the private room for the meal.  She kept her lips pursed upon the stack of steaming piece in the middle as they congregated around them with the butter and honey to each side of the food.  Miyuki took one with her attention back to the plate.

“Milky, don’t worry, we expected this to happen.”  Kei broke the silence while everyone was grabbing their food.

“I see… just for now, we have to get the money out and invest into the new company.  I’ve been trying to push for a censor on the media.  Cleared out the schedule to work on the new reformation of the company.”  She rattled on about the concern when her eyes peered up to the rest of the group eating.  “You guys don’t seemed too concerned.”

“Again.  We are all on board with your moves.”  Akarin added.  “We wouldn’t have to go against you.”

“I guess… anyways how was your friend, Sayata?”  Miyuki asked, cutting into fluffy piece of cooked dough.

“She… I mean he was in good spirits.”  He spoke when they all turned to him.  “She was a friend…”

“You are not getting away with leaving us at that.”  Yuppi gushed.  “Details!”

Miyuki faded away from the conversation as the rest saw the opportunity to ask him every which question about hanging out with the friend.  She hadn’t cared to know more about their personal lives although it had become a tenuous subject at times to prod into their privacy.  She swallowed most of the pancakes whole as much as she had appreciated the woman’s cooking.  The full flavor of butter in the pieces plus the slight sweetness she added was enough to compliment without the extra condiments beside it.  She placed her utensils down and shot her vision to him.

“You went on a date?”  Milky asked.

The sound of her voice silenced the rest as he firmly nodded.  She felt the desert in her throat and gulped the water before turning back to him.

“You came back after the kiss and slept here?”  Milky added.

Another nod came as she drew a smile.  “Must be something good about you.”

“We are just friends and we knew each other since high school.  I couldn’t bear doing what I did to her in high school.”  Sayata explained when she lifted her hand up.

“My only question is why it didn’t go any further?”  Milky thought before placing her plate into the sink.  “Thanks for the meal.”

He watched her leave the room.  Sayata didn’t have to say a word beyond what had happened but it was the seed that had been planted when Momoka shook her head and peeked out the door into the room.  “Because he was trying to be a gentleman!”

She ran back inside when the rest started prod him again.  Milky clenched her fist quickly.  It was bad to hear about another person’s date but in the end, they chickened out.  Milky on the other hand was normally wanting something from the deal.  The date would end the next morning in the man’s bed.  It was simple to portray that she had wanted it since the date when she became a legal adult.  Media was over the fact that she had been linked with every known handsome person, married in some cases but those were simply meetings, not dates as they were being perceived.

Returning back to the room, she viewed the flashing red light.  Biting upon her lip, she opened it to have one call as she read the name of the caller before ringing back as the deep vocal grunt escaped to the greeting.  “Hello.”

“Oh?  Watanabe Miyuki?  This is Fujie Reina at your service.  We have the house and the Watanabe building up for sale.”  She answered in a high pitch.  “I’m sorry for being nervous but this is the first time with a celebrity.”

“It’s fine.  Come up to the house.  We need to get around to discussing other issues I have.”  Miyuki replied before hanging up and sent the information through text.

She connected the lamp and computer within the room and turned it on.  Miyuki walked out when Kei proceeded with heavy steps towards the woman.  Miyuki’s eyes swayed to the left when she felt her arm being grabbed.

“He isn’t a bad guy.  Sayata has a lot of respect for women and he could have taken advantage of her since they were drunk.  Maybe I sense that you want to find a deadly flaw.”  Kei ranted, stepping up to the woman.  “It maybe something awful after all of it but he’s been working to help us to help you.”

“I’m going to work.”  Miyuki uttered.

Hearing Momoka’s voice, she headed into the room with the small desk and fold out chair in the corner.  Miyuki rarely had reason for a guest bedroom and making it into the makeshift office brought out the space into a new development when she saw the female in a knee-length skirt and white-collared shirt meeting up with the woman in the pantsuit, greeting in the middle of the hallway and escorting her into the room which was comfy for the two, taking a seat across of her with the computer to the side.

“Fujie Reina.  Nice to meet you.”

“Watanabe Miyuki, W enterprises.”

“Watanabe?  Kentaro.”  Reina muttered.

“That’s my father.  What about him?”  Miyuki narrowed her eyes.

“He was guest lecturer at one of my classes when dealing with real estate…”  Reina explained.  “I can’t believe I’m meeting his daughter.”

Miyuki swallowed the large load of the words and naturally smiled back.  She always knew that if they talked about him, it was in a good light.  They could never talk about anything else as much with her half-sister probably swimming in the money that he still made with his name.  The bigger problem had been people undermining her ways of running the business.  She knew it was the uphill battle to start with and righting the ship with him was the only thing he could do, although the censor wasn’t going to last long and getting the deal done was the first priority.

“Anyways, what do you have for places?”  Miyuki asked.

“There’s a place within the city to quickly fix up…”  Reina showed, having Miyuki closing the portfolio upon that one.  “The other place is quite hard to obtain but it is doable.”

“The catch?”  Miyuki quipped, moving her hand in a circular motion.

“The owner just died and was given to his daughter.”  Reina sighed.  “It would be some time to obtain the property…”

“I want to talk to the current owner and see where it goes.”  Miyuki breathed out as Reina slid the paper towards her.

“Whenever it is possible, please get in contact with me immediately.”  Reina stood, bowed, and walked out as she viewed the property upon the sheet.

“Sayata!  We are going to do a viewing.”  Miyuki ran out of the room and caught the echo of the hallway to the immediate attention of the driver in the large room.

She rushed down when she saw the male in his uniform and walked by him with the rest observing the situation.  Sayata tailed the woman, bypassing her to the car as he opened the door to the vehicle.  Following through on the protocol, he received the address onto the phone and planted it into the GPS before driving off the property.  Miyuki sat back in the seat and thought about everyone talking about his date.  The moment it came into her mind, she tried to block it out with the concept of the place.  She grew certain that he probably had chosen someone in his league, maybe homely, could even be someone who was beyond the scope of beauty.  Miyuki brushed back the hair as they got onto the main strip of road.

The area seemed further than expected when she glanced down at the address.  She wanted to understand where the approach could be when she arrived, imaging the pitch for the area when the car jerked forward.  She glanced out onto the property surrounded by two empty lots.  Miyuki bit her lips upon getting information more from Reina about the location as Sayata pulled into the stall.

She stepped out onto the uneven gravel when the door opened to see a woman in a long, white dress shirt with a wide smile.  Miyuki glared at her as she jogged up to her and extended her hand.

“You must be here for the property.  Get out!”  The woman growled.  “It isn’t for sale.”

“Let me throw the pitch…”  Miyuki spoke.

“No!”

She glanced to Sayata standing by the car when she pointed to him.  “How about that he wanted to buy it?”

“Why would he want to buy it?  He would have been here.”  The woman growled.

“Sayata-sama.  She really wants to talk to you.”  Miyuki cooed as he turned and ran towards the two, giving a bow to her.  “He’s the real person who wants to buy it.”

“Is that true?”  The woman spoke in a softer tone.

“I guess… we are… Saya… SayaMilky Corp, Inc.”  Sayata murmured.  “We want to buy the property for a living space.”

“It’s pretty big and we can share… Sharing is caring right?”  Miyuki added.

The woman scanned the two when she let out a smile.  “Sixty forty.”

Miyuki opened her mouth, letting the air escape when Sayata stepped in before the words slipped causally out.  He saw something about her when the other woman peeked out from the door.  Waving towards her, she stepped out with the white dress that flowed with the gentle wind.  Her dimpled smile was magical in his eyes when he turned back to Miyuki.

“How about we tell them the truth?”  He asked.

“You think we can achieve a bigger role?”  Miyuki questioned.

“They are obviously want to be included on the property.  It is six floors.”  Sayata pointed out when she moved her head slowly.

Miyuki hated it as much as she should with the negotiations out of her hands.  She didn’t want to let Sayata take over but the two were entranced by his style and she had thought at worse he was proposing a date.  She threw it into the back of her mind that Sayata would go low to get the property when they nodded towards him and shook hands with each of them.  He walked back to the woman with a wide grin when she lowered her head.

“They wanted a floor for themselves.  Miru and Fuuko are a couple and Fuuko had moved here after Miru’s father passed away.  They didn’t want to give up the property with the loan upon it.  I told them we got them jobs to work off their end while we can move into the property to develop what your plans may be.”

The explanation was enough to agree.  It was their place or the other one she hadn’t liked in the first round.  Sayata had closed a deal that probably would have been a begging game from her.  Miyuki walked up and shook their hands before entering the car.  He got their numbers and ran back to the driver’s seat and drove off with the opportunity to create a clean start with two new potential workers.

Sorry for the wait for all those who have read it...

Chapter 8

The plans were set to move in with little items to be moved into the space.  Reina had a prospective buyer on hand to sign off on the deal while the move continued.  Miyuki set it aside as the seed money from the down payment.  She had to balance out the aspect of the business and living while keeping the news away that the company had sank into the deep end over the lack of payments.  Miyuki stayed away from the mediums about the business side while the rest of the crew introduced themselves to the new tenants as the decision to remodel the company had gone to the minds of the workers.

Miyuki grew confident that the best thing was to keep quiet and slowly transform to a smaller business section that Nara hadn’t developed, using the Osaka connection, it had been a hard sell to compel the clients from the old company to pursue the new venture.  She knew that turning away the investors of the previous company would bite her but it was hefty to send an automated letter of the closure and the return of their money within the coming years.

Osaka had its moments with the barrage of ideas that she could draw upon but it was still not the hot spot she had envisioned.  The clothing companies saw that Miyuki had become a product placement queen.  Using her was easy exposure.  Now it seemed it was the other way around with a feeder system that would take them out if they thought it through.  The sell was on to develop a sense of motivation for them as she sold the aspect of the development and sought a well-known scout from under their eyes.

“Watanabe-san!  Ohisashiburi.”  The man wailed, with his sunglasses and his slick back black hair, withdrew the shades with his ocean blue eyes staring back to the woman.

“Hamano-senpai.”  She greeted with her hand pointing to the chair across of her.  “Same.  I’m wondering what you have been doing since.”

“Cut to the chase, Milky.  Closing it down for a consultant job.  Must be crazy~” he squealed.

“Best thing to do with my father in Tokyo.”  Miyuki quipped, holding the tea cup up to her lips.  “I have the right to do it.”

“I know but why?”  He snarled.

“Simply to survive here.  Other than that I’d be moving here to get clients to come to the location.  Local talent will only go so far.  I need the strong candidates.”  Miyuki explained, seeing her head nod to her every word.

“Simply going to the bigger cities would be good for the pipeline although Nara is not known for the mecca of fashion.”  He smirked.

“That isn’t the reason why I’m here although you are right.  You are going to train your group that you’ve been holding out on the bigger companies because of the money.  They will work for me.”  Miyuki grinned as the man narrowed his eyes.

“What’s my cut?”

Miyuki knew what the weakness was and slipped it to him.  The eyes traced the lines of the card and laughed it off.  There were many things that he loved and Miyuki didn’t need to say it to him what the offer was for him.  Calling him by his name was bad but it also triggered what she wanted from him without question.  They were going to be famous through her but the incentive was in front with the kettle of tea between them.

“The last time this happened, it was rejected.”  He murmured.

“Make a design.  You have to make it for me.”  Miyuki nodded.

“If I do that, you will be hard on luck if…”

Miyuki raised her eyebrow upon the thought.  She was willing to take such risk if that was the case and now it was in the hands of the best scout she knew to train them and the one goal he had before he settled upon scouting was his fate to pursue.  He took another sip from the cup and felt it go into the depth of his stomach.  He moved his head slowly before proceeding to a full nod.

“You better make it sexy.”  Miyuki winked when he lowered his head.

“You want to make someone jealous.”  He grunted.

“Whoever you think it is… it’s up to you.”

Miyuki hailed the taxi from the corner upon exiting the café and took it to the station.  The tour was over to get the company back up.  Money was the last thing on her mind to worry about when the phone would light up.  However, only the message from her new-co-workers about design.  The interior was settled upon the crew as she anxiously exited the car to take the train back to Nara.  Staring at the warmed area, she recalled that the best thing was to admit mistakes but also fix them.  She always let the emotion take the best out of her when it came to business decisions and the only time she knew going with her head worked was that time when the vibration from her phone caught her attention.

[Having a date again.  –Sayata]

Her mind turned to the male.  Since the first one, Sayata had two more dates.  It wasn’t to the point of what Miyuki thought but she had wanted to know why he stopped by just sleeping over at her place.  It was cruel to think he could wait out for this woman.  She had thought of everything that could be the issue upon the trip.  She never had past two without an invitation for the deed.  Even while at one, it was a dare to perform oral under the table to avoid her father sitting across the way, escaping with the seed within her mouth.

[Have fun. –Milky]

Miyuki stepped out from the train and headed for the exit with Kei and Akari in the car with another person in the back with short black hair and childish face, waving to her when Akari peered back.

“She will be our intern.  Hopefully the addition of assistance for our front desk.”  She explained.  “Kei hired her.”

“Hajimemashite, Sutou Ririka.”  She smiled and bowed to the woman before driving off.

“Ah, Watanabe Miyuki.  I’m the one running the company.”  Miyuki introduced herself.  “What made you want to join us?”

“Keiichi saw me in the store where I was working and invited me out to lunch.  She had told me she was working for a celebrity but that wasn’t really the reason though… I wanted some actual work experience for the summer.”  Ririka explained.  “Also, I was seeking some money for college tuition too.”

“Keiichi, you know we are getting models, right?”  Miyuki snarled.

“I couldn’t pass it up.  She was wearing the item for that shop…”  Keiichi replied.

“God… Anyways what else did she do?”  Miyuki rolled her eyes.

“Body check.”  Ririka deadpanned.

Miyuki knew the words and it was enough to analyze a person and even given Kei’s background, she wasn’t qualified to state what Miyuki was looking for but it was enough to work around what should be required for her appearance.  They arrived at the building with Yuppi and Momoka standing outside with the others coming out as they pulled into the dirt lot.

“First, we are having a hiring freeze.”  Miyuki stated to the three in the car.  “Now, we are going to have to stake out Sayata.”

Kei and Akari glanced back before letting themselves out of the car.  Miyuki paced into the building past the rest of the females when Yuppi and Momoka saw the image of ghosts in front of them.

“Milky wants us to follow Sayata on his date.”  Kei informed the group.

The chatter grew from there when Yuppi placed her hands up as the eldest of the group to see her calm them down from the panic.  Kei and Akari glanced at each other as the only person to sell the date was Momoka although her character distracted Miyuki sometimes but as surrogates, the two maids were also considered to help out the woman, acknowledging the symptoms from her.  The rest stood in silence upon Miyuki’s return in the black, skin-tight dress with the slit running up to her hip.

“What are you trying to do?”  Kei narrowed her eyes.  “Win Sayata over?”

“No!  Just… to really see this woman.”  Miyuki quipped.

“You aren’t going to kill him because he has been going out with her?”  Akari questioned.

“Like how Ririka was won over by your perverted partner?”  Milky smiled.

“Devil!”  Momoka nudged in.  “Lady…”

“Kei, drive!”

She further questioned where he could be although he had used the bus, leaving them with no place when Momoka saw two people walking on the crosswalk with their hands clasped together.  Slowly driving up, they scanned the couple and shook their heads.  Miyuki drew back to the places he would go and especially with the income from the sale distributed to them as they saw a figure with another woman and pulled up to the front.  Momoka shot out from the vehicle and let out Miyuki with the other two turning into the nearby lot.  The side profile gave away his appearance when she dragged Milky aside.

“It looks like a nice restaurant.”  Momoka hummed.

“It serves on par food but the service is horrible.  I need my shades.”  Miyuki patted her body when Momoka placed her hand on her behind.  “Don’t touch me.”

“Your shades usually would be on your back pocket…”  Momoka smirked.

“Still… I’m going to be exposed.”  Miyuki quipped.  “I have to go to the café nearby.  Take the two inside and watch them for me.”

Momoka nodded when they noted they were gone from the front with the two maids coming to the entrance with the brief explanation from the short-haired woman.  They entered quickly with no reservation and got their seat while Miyuki escaped from the area to the café nearby, taking the window seat with the updates from her phone vibrating constantly.  She scanned the restaurant to note them sitting in the deep corner with Sayata facing the window.  She viewed his eyes staring intently upon the woman before looking at the phone.

It was obvious that she was pretty but in the value of tolerable from them.  Miyuki wasn’t certain of anything and got a hot chocolate and coffee mix to observe from her side.  His eyes caught her heart as she remembered the words and the bitterness behind them.  She didn’t regret such things but it was something she couldn’t undo from her life as she slowly sipped the drink from the cup.

The vibrations didn’t deter her from the sight as she had wondered why she had thought about Sayata upon the case of following him in hindsight.  Questions answered it briefly but it was her curiosity that grabbed her when she followed his words through his lips.  Miyuki continued to glare when she walked away from the table to concede to the toilet with the messages from the three about their observations.

Miyuki acknowledged many times that she was unique but it was something that she had grown accustomed.  The reason seemed easy that the distraction from the woman was enough.  She also knew that she could have won her over easily.  The confidence was there with the tangible items and how they would line up to just be shot down.  Miyuki embraced it before him.  Sayata had become a vegetarian in his own right with her.

She slipped into the stall when the picture was sent and she stared upon it.  Miyuki felt her heart stop for the moment upon staring at it.  The first thought struck her that she couldn’t have done it to herself but thinking of him made it worse because of the curious nature.  Miyuki sat upon the seat, letting the flow out when she glanced at the message again.  She had pondered even if she had her way that feeling of not being approached from Sayata was the void from the start.

“Why?”

The pulse from her phone came and answered it.  “They are leaving.”

“Let them be.  I’ve seen enough.”  Miyuki sighed.

“You hate losing as much as the next person.”  Kei replied.

“Is he trying to make me jealous?”  Milky thought.

“No… he’s proving a point.”  Kei uttered.  “Maybe you finally met someone who can’t be attracted to you.”

Miyuki exhaled upon the assessment.  She hung up before finishing her business to the only thing she could recall that being the first time she could ever seek into a private life of another worker, especially one who was male.  She headed out with her bill and paid for it at the front.  Picked up in the front, it was going to be another night without her personal driver to the girl who was giving her the green-eyed monster.
