Ok its not effected me to bad but i know some who now wont buy the Morning Musume cd if certain members don't get any lines or the worse of the two scenarios they wont buy the new if certain members get what they deem to be an unfair proportion of the lines.

Don't forget that some members actually can sing better than others. Tsunku has to consider the limitations of every member, certainly in regard to live performances. I doubt that the (perceived) popularity of each of the members is the guiding principle for solo line distribution. Tsunku may be a raving lunatic, but he's too much a professional to let the quality of his work suffer because someone wants certain members to be pushed to the front. If a song sounds bad it will not sell at all. It may seem that the die hard fans obediently buy every single offered to them. But those fans know they get a quality product. It's that trust that must not be betrayed by solo line distribution politics. It is Tsunku who decides who sings what, not the Up-Front sales manager.

For fans of a certain member there are the PBs to buy. The distribution of PB releases over the members is no doubt subject to demand. The distribution of solo lines isn't IMHO.

^ You might be right, but in the case of Koharu, the 7ki ace, Tsunku gave her so many lines even though she makes the songs sound bad.  He tries to push her forward all the time, simply because he said she's an ace.

There's more to it than singing talent.  Different songs require different sounds, and whoever can fill that sound the best is usually going to be the main vocals or get the most solo lines.  If they were actually concerned with singing talent, then the vast majority of girls brought into Hello Project wouldn't be there.  Just the same, a lot of the extremely talented girls who have left Hello Project might have actually stayed if they were given the time of day they deserved.
