^Sent my payment in for earlier today. I've been driving myself crazy because I've been looking at lots of art books and statues by all these artists I've never seen before. Then there's almost $200 in other books being released this month. Some of the ones last summer sold out the same week they came out.

This Darkstalkers Tribute book looks mighty nice.

^ The Pre has it, Windows Mobile will have it soon Nokia is working on it, Android phones are getting it.

The 'store advantage' of the iPhone (which I do not really see actually as such a big advantage) will be short lived.

The big advantage of the iPhone is that it is sold *including* a data subscription.

The whole "Apple Store" thing does nothing for me at all..

At least with most Japanese phones (maybe other countries too, I have no idea), they come with IC chips that can be used to buy goods in actual shops..
Like a debit card, but tacked onto your phone bill..

Train tickets, grocery shopping, etc.. Hell, some drink vending machines come with scanners just for that..

For some reason that does not yet take hold in the western world, almost no phones are sold with that option build-in.
We do have 'PIN' e.g. debit-cards you swipe (magnetic strip, smart-chip coming up next) here in Europe as the main electronic payment method.
I think America likes credit cards more...
We dabble in RFID type cards for public transportation, but they are way to easy to break so they are not used anywhere else yet.

No idea why they are not shopping in Japan for this though, they seem to want to re-invent the wheel.

You probably already know this, but there's a Hardened Edition as well which basically has the same features as the Prestige edition (steel case, artbook, COD1 download) minus the goggles. Really, it all depends on whether or not you want the goggles, which supposedly are the real deal.

As for me:

UMC 21" HD Ready LCD TV which can also act as a PC Monitor. I could go down right now and get it for £100 which seems like a bargain to me. Just need to read up on it and see if it's recommended.

ya I know about the Hardened Edition. And I won't mind spending the extra getting the goggles. But I read people wrote that it is not night vision but instead just use multiples of infrared to act as
"night vision"... what do you guys / gals think?

That would mean they put some IR LED's into the thing which gives 'invisible to the naked eye' light, which is then received/displayed? Thats like those small nightime security camera's.

Its not the same as the 'real deal', and might actually be visible because the LED's after some time do give some light in the visible spectrum if I am correct (e.g. glow a bit)
