Haha, it could happen. She's been practically begging for it since the last single (and a bit before that, as well). Even in the last Pocket Morning Weekly Q&A, she said that what she was in charge of in Morning Musume, with the lines that she gets, is shouting ("Help Meeee!" Haha). XD :lol: She's sending out all kinds of messages. I'd honestly like to see her get more lines too just because she wants it so, so badly. It's really important to her.
I am so, so excited for another single from them! It's just two months away! Whee. :D

I also agree in the sense that Sayu needs more lines. I mean, have you heard her voice lately!? It's pretty damn good. Miles away from her debut. If you don't believe me, listen to the Hello! Project 2008 Winter ~Kettei! Haro Pro Award '08~ version of Yuujou ~Kokoro no Busu ni wa Naranee!~! Sayu kicks ass!
All in all, anyone who didn't get lines in Resonant Blue needs at least 2 lines each. Although I'm praying for more.

Although it would be nice if it were distributed like C-ute's where only Ai (Airi in C-ute's case) gets slightly more lines then the rest, but nothing substantial.
In all honesty though, I don't really care, I'm just glad there is a new single and a PB LE :w00t:

being the fanatic that I am, I just received an e-mail earlier from CDJapan.co.jp about the new single and just pre-order the single and Single V.
Maybe it's a bad move on my part without even knowing that I would like the song or not.
Here's hoping that it would be a very enjoyable and popular song that would help raise the popularity of Morning Musume not just in Japan but Asia and makeway into the west.
Plus I love most of Morning Musume songs and find none that I dislike, maybe just indifference. And I really love all the recent singles, especially with this line-up. And here's hoping a more fair solo line distribution, with more Eri and Risa.

Finally, a single with the PB edition again. I don't mind if the new single is a ballad but thinking about it, I doubt so. There's a high chance it'll be the B-side though. Anyhoo, I just wanna see what kind of outfits the girls are gonna be in this time. I want a gorgeous looking PB :D

Rumor has it this single is that unisono ballad that they sung at the Wonderful Hearts concert. I hope not, though, because that ballad is nothing special.

I think that the song would be a b-side. It came out too quickly to be an A-side, we just knew that it's a Morning Musume song, and there's no confirmation about it being a new single.

I wouldn't really mind if Ame no Furai Hoshi de wa Ai Senai Darou is the A-side BUT I don't think that it'd be too good for MM's sales :sweatdrop: It's a nice song but it'd not a good idea to make it the single.

I know this sounds weird but I think that the title for the ame song is too long for a single.
Singles need to be quite easy to remember and short usually equals catchier and such.

so it's the first of September (9/1), which means 24 days (3 weeks and 3 days) until the single release. how long would it take for them to start previewing the songs and PVs in the media?
wouldn't it usually do it by now or 3 weeks before the actual release date?

Usually by now we would get a title + like a little preview of the song but I think they might delay this single. Some people are saying that MM's schedule is to busy right now to promote a single since they are going to Hawaii in a couple of days and they have their fall tour to prepare for.

It is a little odd that we haven't heard a preview on any of the Hello! Project radio shows, I would have also expected at least some further mention of the single by now. Hopefully it's not pushed back like Resonant Blue, though Resonant Blue did reasonably well so maybe pushing it back is the right thing to do considering Morning Musume's busy schedule?

hmm, maybe so. I guess it's understandable if they were to delay the single, i didn't know that they were going to Hawaii in a couple of days.
It's good to know that they are active. But I'm also concerned about their health.
Just recently, I heard that people who saw them perform on 24hr TV, notice their tiredness. Now that just breaks my heart. I know since the girls are the flagship of H!P, but working them hard will possibly make them come to hate their careers. and nothing good can comes from that, if my and yours fav. idols quits.
I certainly hope that they truly love their jobs that they are determined and dedicated to work and train hard. otherwise the conditions would only get bad...
Though I would love to see more of MoMusu's activites, I'm fine with them taking time off to relax and charged for the next event.
don't mind my worries, it's just that UFA have a habit of overworking their idols then forget about them later on.

They did look tired on 24hr TV but not THAT bad... I think it's pretty inevitable that it's gonna be pushed back though, so we haven't even gotten a title, but even still, I'm surprised they haven't already announced that it's being pushed back... Unless they've forgotten about it :P

I'm not gonna comment on the song (coz everyone else is, except I really don't want a cover, let alone trying to take on Pink Lady :sweatdrop: ) but I gotta so, DAYUM, TakaGaki look freakin' awesome in that picture :drool: My eyes are all happy now :heart:

GO!GO7118's version of the song absolutely sucks. It looks like a completely new song with no harmony and has all the instruments, specially guitars, overbearing the song. IMO.

I Love Pepper Keibu a lot so now i'm really Happy and i hope it is a Ai Risa :heart: Lead and the others get the other lines together, Reina can go to the backseats because she had to many lines in RB and this Song NEVER will suit her VOICE! :thumbdown:

Morning Musume are on an Aku Yu high :o Including a tribute album in November... At first I didn't know whether to be stoked about it or not but after thinking about it, I can't wait to see what they did with it all.

and hope for a better line distributions with this single. I wonder what tsunku/UFA was thinking, though, u know... guess we normal beings can't comprehend what goes on in that man's mind.
Ai-chan would most likely get a lead, u know, and Risa, too. Since both of them sang it together on that TV special. I hope I get to hear more of Eririn, and a equal line distribution among the members if that's likely.
IMO, I dunno koharu is in anyway, anyhow, fit for this single. but she'd make a good eye candy as a dancer and possibly back-up vocals. COME ON, THE OTHER GIRLS NEEDS TO SHINE, TOO! U KNOW! doesn't have to be solos line, maybe duets, but more lines and more vocals from the members. maybe, i dunno, but I think linlin voice would probably fits the song.

It has been officially announced that Morning Musume's next single will be a cover of the Pink Lady hit "Pepper Keibu." The decision stemmed from Ai Takahashi and Risa Niigaki's appearance in NTV's biographical drama special "Hit Maker: Yu Aku Monogatari," in which they played the popular '70s duo.
The "Pepper Keibu" cover goes on sale September 24. The new version is said to be more danceable than the original, and the music video will feature all nine Morning Musume members dancing in Pink Lady outfits. The coupling song for "Pepper Keibu" will be a cover of another song written by Yu Aku - Hiromi Iwasaki's 1975 hit "Romance."
Then on November 26, the group will release a Yu Aku tribute album called "COVER YOU," supervised by Hiroshi Itsuki, who joined Up-Front Agency earlier this year. The album includes a cover of "Izakaya," originally a duet between Itsuki and Nana Kinomi, but this time Itsuki will be paired up with Ai Takahashi instead.

the girls look awesome, but the star lay-out concept is taken too literaly . the pairings are ok on 1 cover , but not on every one of them....the center one should be all of them standing in one row. sigh, the graphic designer in me is speaking once more.

The covers are great, it looks retro in a way, but also reminds me of like a futuristic fashion. It's like mixing the old with the new (or the future) kind of style. like 20th Century meets 21st Century.
And great news with the album, so they're gonna cover more songs with an album. That's great. I'm into the old pop classics songs right now. for some reason, I'm beginning to listen to the oldies since I want to check out what I've been missing in the past. It's like Tsunku knows what I'm thinking... freaky...
I got some time to think it over and now I don't think covers are such a bad idea, It a good idea to bring back the oldies so reminisce the old times...

Tsunku is not doing the single or the cover album. This year H!P been doing cover songs while Tsunku is taking care of his family, the other music company, and his food restantraut.

Hmm, I don't really care for either song, but I prefer Pepper Keibu of the two. MM had a really good streak going with me-- I haven't disliked a single since Aruiteru. Oh well, can't be perfect every time.
Those covers are great other than Reina being in the center. :-\
Eri looks AMAZING. I think she had that same hairstyle for the Onna ni Sachi Are covers and I LOVED it on her, I'm SO glad they brought it back.

I've been saying for quite a while now that momusu needs to put an album of oldschool covers, they could do a real good job with them. Just look at the W albums and the musicfair 21 SPs. LOVE THEM

Ok I didn't pay the best attention, but it sounds like pretty good line distribution in the sense that everyone/most get a chance :D
It's really not changed much except for the little 'dancey' bits but maybe that shall be for the better.

great rendition of pepper keibu. only thing is that sayu's final YON does sound a bit out of place. I love how 'Pepper Keibu' starts off all retro & then moves into a more modern, dance-y rhythm! 'Romance' is still my favourite track though.
I'm reminded a lot of early Momusu in this single. & everyone sounds great, especially Reina! :heart:

Y'know, when I first heard this was going to be a cover single I was somewhat upset. I had been wanting covers of older songs from H!P groups so I don't really know what I was upset. I guess I just wanted more new songs like the upbeat singles we had been getting. Luckily hearing the songs means that I won't be cancelling my order. I recently have been into Pink Lady and Pepper Keibu hasn't really been on my top favorites, but I like this rendition of the song. A lot. :heart:
The b-side is really nice too. This is going to be a great single. I really need to stop doubting my favorite group, because it doesn't seem like they can do bad in my eyes when they get new releases and such.
I think part of the reason I'm enjoying the songs outside of the awesome that they are, is that the distribution of lines is actually going to more than 2-3 members. I'm glad Sayu got her wish for actual lines and not just yelling or sounds. I do find it to be a bit of a shame that something like this can't be in their original songs.
I'm really looking forward to the PV and how they'll be dancing to the song.

Right, so I'm weird and just counted the lines each of the girls get to sing and :o Sayu has as many as Ai-chan at 9 XD Gaki gets the most with Reina :banana: (even though its only one more)... The line distribution is great and really pleasing, unless you happen to be an 8th gen, specifically a Chinese one :( :P

initially I was disappointed at the single being covers...but seeing as how I now have the radio rips on constant repeat my opinion has certainly changed. The PV is making me like the song even more.

Having watched the PV I must say that I was wrong when I was all skeptic about the cover thing... but now I've heard it and I've seen it(as far as the mobile quality lets us) and I must say that I like it. It has a fresh feel into a classic song. And I liked the fact that the original choreography is all there and with some additions. PV as simple as it is so far and in such quality is love! It's nice that they made it fit their current style/feel they've had going so it has a newer feel to it. I hope they have enough time to have some alternate versions like with RB, I'm not expecting much though.
Nouciel, I've been thinking since my repeated listens and seeing the changes from the PV in the distribution of lyrics that is more corrections. It's good to see that the lines are even more fair than we've been thinking.

Don't you figure this should be a Double-A side release? Haven't they done this before? Seriously these are two VERY famous songs. I suspect there's a PV for "Romance" lurking in the distance.
Coming this Fall: H!P Best of 1970s J-pop. Seriously. They can make it a tribute album and donate all the profits to some charity. They've performed all these songs on "Music Fair" already.

Things to love about this PV:
* TakaGakiKame thighs :drool: TakaGakiKame hair :inlove: The wonders that dress does for Sayu's curves :mon inluv:
* The fair amount of Koha and 8th gen love with both lines and camera shots... It may not be the same amount as the others but they certainly don't fade to the background either. :D
* How sensual the lighting, set, music and dance is at the start :heart:
* The dance interlude :w00t: Looove that part although maybe a bit too much Ai-chan there for others, but I like it that way :P
* Risa being at the front almost all the time, Hellz yeah! :otomerika: And I love the Reina/Gaki line :D

Have to say that the one big thing I realized right away watching this PV is how stunning Lin Lin has become. Compare her scenes in this PV to those of ONSA. She never looked bad, but now she's simply shining! And everybody else too! Eri, Linx2 and Risa were the biggest eye-catchers in this PV for me, but I liked everyone. I haven't really liked the way that Risa's hair has been styled in the latest singles, but she manages to shine under whatever hairstyles she happens to be carrying. Great PV!

The girls all looked absolutly stunning here. I simply love how they dance/move away for the next girls to sing their lines. The PV itself reminds me of EYN a lot, but I have no complaints on that as that that was a single I loved everything about a-side ways.

Just watched, and I liked it ! Not as good as Resonant Blue, but way better than I expected when I heard it was going to be based on an old song.
What I really liked was the beat and the arranges (I think that's the word I'm lookign for) that make this song.
They're all beautiful in the PV but I thought Eri was amazing, and I like the fact the Ai's hair got a little longer.
Another thing I liked that's nice to note is that this time, thankfully, JunJun isn't simetricly ooposite to LinLin in the moments thay appear during the PV. I mean, they both joined together, sure, but mixing their positions givis the songs a different look !
Maybe an exemple will make you understand what I'm trying to say, like the time when Tsuji and Aibon always appeared together, not a problem, but EVERYTIME ? It get's weird after a while, after all, they are all a group, not a duo the joined a group.
Overall, really nice song, and catchy.

Well i have to say that they at least placed some effort into the PV. Everyone looked nice in it. Of coz Eri has to stand out again being the one with the thunder thighs. I swear i can just recognize her just by looking at the leg shots.

By the way Gaki san seems to have put on some needed weight and look much nicer. Now that is a healthy girl.

Oh how I'm ever so glad to be getting the PB version of this single. So very, very happy~ I'm consistently amazed at every new image in those black and silver outfits. I could just die from overdose of glee.
It doesn't help that Risa looks damn amazingly gorgeous in every shot. And LinLin is full of all sorts of awesome too. Not that I don't think the others look great, but Risa and LinLin are the best here to me. And Mittsi too. Nobody has a dopey looking hairstyle for once, and that in itself makes me happy.
I do enjoy the factor that since LinLin is in the center behind Reina a lot, and thusly that she gets a good bit of presence throughout the PV.
@meowchi: I know I'd be thinking that this was perfect for GAM. I'm very happy it's MM doing this though.

And this cover single will be released on 24th of September. “The arrangement of the dance is left as it was in the original, so I want you to dance to this song together with your families.” – says Takahashi Ai(22) leader of Morning Musume.
Takahashi Ai, as well as other Hello!Prohject members appeared in a dorama called “Hit Maker Aku Yuu Monogatari” so that became the cause for this new single. “It was the song, which everybody knows, so I was very glad, when it was decided to make a cover of it” – Says Takahashi smiling.
Takahashi’s mother was a big fan of Pink Lady back when they were popular. “Even now children and parents dance to this song, when they see videos of those days.” A bit later, in November, another cover of Aku Yuu’s song will be released. This time Takahashi Ai will sing “Izakaya”(Tavern) together with Hiroshi Itsuki.

CDJapan just sent me an e-mail, saying they shipped my copy of the single. I can't wait, but it said it would take about 1-3 weeks.
I haven't been listening to Pepper keibu alot intentionally, I want to wait for the single in hand and enjoy it with something I actually bought.
BUT I LOVE THE PV, THEY ALL LOOKED SO GREAT IN IT! ESPECIALLY ERI, HOTTT!!!
thought I haven't been listening to it alot, but I did listen and I think it's great. I hope they get good promotion and great sales.
btw, though this is off topic, but since it was speculated that...
before they confirmed the single, you guys was talking about this song called "Ame no Furanai Hoshi de wa Aisenai Darou". I actually got listening to it lately and is loving it as well. I wonder where did they first performed it and what were they planning to do with this song? would it be MoMusu first Chinese-crossover single?
If not MoMusu, then maybe H!P? like for the Taiwan star winners? cuz they're some Chinese lyrics in it... But if this would help break MoMusu into the Chinese/Taiwanese music market, first step into the international market, that would be great.
Did they performed it at the Beijing thing back in the 16th? cuz won't that be a great opportunity?
btw, since I'm at it.... whatever happend to the Beijing event? I haven't heard about it...

Most singles singles are officially released on Wednesday and usually they are available in stores on Tuesday. But today is a national holiday in Japan (Autumn Equinox (also Goto Maki's birthday)), so stores start shipping a day early. That's why I expect the first daily ranking today, instead of tomorrow (not quite sure about this though).

Is this perhaps the first time since Koi no Dance Site that a single has been released in a slimline case? I can't recall any others after that.

Probably because UFA feels like they could stand a little better against the competition. 4th isn't too bad, really. I'm waiting on sales figures more than anything. Mainly out of curiosity. This is a really sweet cover and I love the video... but I really was wanting new material from this new Morning Musume, so I'm wondering if others felt the same.
