sorry i forgot to tell you that there´s a  media player called  Gom Player , which can reproduce almost every video format you put on it (included flv!!) . and it comes incorporated  so you must not download those large packs of codecs.

enjoy it.

saludos y fortuna

If you use Firefox, try the "DownloadHelper" extension.  It works better than anything else I've tried.  Works on most embedded video, not just youtube.

there are sites like http://javimoya.com/blog/youtube_en.php that help you to download from youtube.

just paste the link into the site and you can download the vid file. it's in flv so you need the right codec/player to be able to view it..

the quality really sucks though at youtube..

i know that the quality is not good....but youtube have a many strange videos about hello project such as osaka koi no uta with rock version......
honestly, thanks for the link that you give.....(http://javimoya.com/blog/youtube_en.php)

just enter the url as:

http://www.youtube.com/get_video?video_id=[video-id-here]

to your download accelerator

example: http://www.youtube.com/get_video?video_id=Yuj5fo56Lbw

and save the download with an .FLV extension

Thanks it works

Does anyone if it's possible to just rip the sound from one of YouTube's videos? Or if not directly from YouTube, maybe then from the .flv file?

Save the flv file, then Use FLV extract to seperate the audio and video parts.

Has anyone else noticed that downloading from YouTube is no longer possible from some of the official channels?  YouTube must have introduced some new controls.  Keepvid, Video Downloader and all those don't work any longer - but on regular user channels and videos they still work fine.  Anyone read anything about this any place?  Wonder if Keepvid etc will find a way around it...

^It looks like it's getting solved for Firefox's video downloadhelper add-on. There's a beta in this post

Looks like it was either a temporary glitch on Keepvid, or else something YouTube made available to posters which Keepvid then worked around.  It only affected commercial channels, I noticed.

Anyway, it's good again now...  for the time being!
