Tokyo and Tohoku, the epicenter of the disaster, will have a number of services, concerts, and protests marking the one-year anniversary of the triple disaster. *Iwate prefecture hosts a memorial service jointly with Rikuzentakata, the city that suffered the largest number of victims in the prefecture from the disaster. The two-hour ceremony starts at 2:30 pm and is expected to be attended by 2,400 victim families. The ceremony in Tokyo at the same time will be displayed on a large screen.
