Title: The Tokyo Idol Festival 2015 Thread
Post by: tsutomo on March 24, 2015, 05:31:25 AM
a tradition of this forum already, let me set up once again the thread for the biggest (but not funniest) idol festival in the country.  :cow:

they announced today that we will have once more the festival starred by more than one hundred idols groups in Odaiba (Tokyo) at August 1st and 2nd. official site http://fes.tokyoidol.jp/ (http://fes.tokyoidol.jp/)

the first few (headliners?) groups confirmed:

Idoling!!!
Up Up Girls Kakkokari
Afilia Saga
Dorothy Little Happy
Negicco
Passpo
Fudanjuku
Baby Raids Japan
LinQ

who's going this year? will we have a proper JPHIP meeting this time? will it be too idoling centric since its the group's final year? will we have an even worse organization than last year (almost impossible but...)? will we finally see some Stardust or Alice Project groups? someone different than HKT48? more groups and people than last year? finally Luvya and Asfi making an appearance? so many questions!

since Azunyan will be there, I'm in.

presence list:
tsutomo (one or both days. still undefined)

You know my opinion. Would love to go there again. I wait for qwiksXnd's schedule and what @JAM sets up. A cooler venue is much more appreciated by me.

But as Passpo is there (what happened to Hachake Tai's plan?) it is a festival I will put on my agenda.

I would love to go but I can't handle the heat so I would just be miserable :(

The enthusiasm is totally different than last year XD. TIF 2014 killed our innocence.

I was hoping @JAM EXPO would expand to two days, but I'm still a TIF addict. I wish it was possible to know the final lineups of both events right now, and even better, the complete summer schedules of every group. It's always a gamble when choosing the weeks to visit.

HKT48 and Dempagumi also performed at the press event, so I wouldn't be surprised if they attended again.

Usually there are also lots of idols performing on Sapporo Snow Festival in February  ;)

yep, if I were to give a tip to someone (who lives abroad and can only attend one of the festivals) I'd say to come here to attend @Jam Expo, not TIF. they may have less groups (not by an abysmal margin), but quality is there. much better organization and indoor stages only, with small distances between. and they don't have 'casual fans' or curious people since all stages are paid. only real wotas.  :twothumbs

I think we can use thread to talk about @Jam Expo too, if enough people here opt for that one.  :) only went to TIF thread cuz it still has more "glamour" and "appeal" than other festivals.

yep, because of that and the fact they were there last year, it's basically a given they'll be again this year. dunno why they weren't included in the first announcement already. it is so frustrating that they are for the third consecutive year inviting the Fukuoka AKB branch. still no sign of NMB or even better, a SKE reload.  :smhid

I will probably book hotels in the time frame I want to go and cancel the reservation of the one I don't need. It's true, that TIF has more glamour, even for me, despite the heat, the casual visitors and terrible organising. But I don't want to spend my time only in Doll Factory or Enjoy Stadium to avoid heat like a certain person here did. That is why I wait for further details or just trip to both dates. lol
I would love to see more uncommon groups like JyuJyu, PassCode, 2&,... there instead of trainee groups or general new generic idol pop groups. There have been far to many of those, resulting in lack of musical diversity.

I am in for an @JAM Thread as well.
And why do idols only know the festival by the abbrevation TIF?

Everytime I mention the full name, they just seem confused and then ask about if I meant TIF instead. Just wondering...

its probably because you pronounce the words correctly and most japanese don't understand real english just japenglish.  :nervous happens with me most of the time, have to try to adapt the spelling.
Title: Re: The Tokyo Idol Festival 2015 Thread
Post by: mixedmedia on March 25, 2015, 05:56:06 PM
I blame katakana for their lack of understanding when someone pronounces stuff written in Romaji as it's supposed to be read. Tokyo Aidoru Fesutebaru does not equal Tokyo Idol Festival. I'm still rolling my eyes when they used "idle" instead of "idol" during the press conference.

I think I've seen some of the major groups (PASSPO, Dorothy Little Happy, Babyraids JAPAN, Up Up Girls, etc) enough that I might want to switch it up this year and go check out the newer groups. It would be nice if they used Zepp Diver City or some other place also. I hated how Hot Stage was pretty much open to ppl who were just going to the Fuji TV thing. There were too many stages open to the public to where you wondered what the point of paying for a ticket was. Doll Factory, Enjoy Stadium, Sky Stage (which is super annoying to get to) were the only stages that you had to have a ticket to see, no?

Looking forward to @JAM Expo also but that "Pineapple Stage" was pretty pointless! It was almost a broom closet!
Title: Re: The Tokyo Idol Festival 2015 Thread
Post by: wattstax on March 26, 2015, 03:33:33 AM
Yea, it seems to be a pronounciation thing. I still haven't figured out how to make myself understood when talking about a "One-Man". Two attempts, both fail!
But I was wondering: Isn't romaji pretty hard for Japanese to read? I mean it uses a completely different spelling and letter system. Is it equal to me, who struggles with reading hiragana/katakana which is far far far from being fluent or fast?

About the stages: Only the 3 you mentioned were the ones you needed tickets for. Others only had the wristband-holder areas. Agreed on Hot Stage: Much to small area for paying customers and annoying on-lookers. I didn't even tried the Sky Stage for its stupid organisation. But the downside: Even if you go there without a ticket, you have no real place to cool down from being in the sun. Only suitable option would be DiverCity, but being a sweaty wota surrounded by casual customers - not pleasant. I would love an indoor Market/Greeting Square. No problem staying there for hours, lol
Title: Re: The Tokyo Idol Festival 2015 Thread
Post by: mixedmedia on March 26, 2015, 05:59:06 AM
To be fair, languages that are written in romaji like English have so many ways to pronounce the combination of letters that katakana sometimes makes sense since it's generally always pronounced the same (even if it's a bastardized version of a non-Japanese word).

Since they had an area where they were spraying people with water, why not have one where the idols get sprayed with water too?

Definitely hated how Hot Stage was in the middle of the other Fuji TV event, especially with the random EXILE thing right at the entrance attracting all the gyaru types and their equally tan bleached hair having bfs/husbands.

But apparently you struggle to make yourself understood when trying to pronounce my name.... so...  :P

From everything you guys have said about last years event (in that thread as well) it really doesn't make the whole festival sound like a good one... it probably doesn't help that it's at the worst time of year to visit Japan...
Title: Re: The Tokyo Idol Festival 2015 Thread
Post by: tsutomo on March 27, 2015, 01:48:22 AM
pineapple stage was that one in a small studio where you had to go out of the yokohama arena to enter, right? yep, that was pretty much the only problem with @Jam Expo. like, i`d have no problem if they used that venue for small groups, but putting big names to play there was like non-sense and a pain in the ass to even get access with a humongous lane.

it sucks that TIF is done by fuji tv so they`ll never take the festival and organize in other area of the city, because the logical thing would be to realize it on Makuhari like the other big music festivals in the city. if someone wanted, they could use even the stadium, like in Summersonic, to put the really big groups like Momokuro, AKB, H!P groups... at this point I just hope that with Idoling`s disband, fuji tv stops working in the organization and they find other supporters. even if it continues being done in Odaiba for whatever reason, will be a start at least.
Title: Re: The Tokyo Idol Festival 2015 Thread
Post by: mixedmedia on March 27, 2015, 02:28:49 AM
Yeah, Pineapple was the one where you had to leave the arena and walk through what looked like a small cafe to get to a room the size of a tiny live house and the organizers went and put groups like Dempagumi, Up Up Girls, TOKYO GIRLS' STYLE, Hime Kyun Fruit Can, etc. in there! They probably thought it would be the best location for their webcast with the English-speaking MC, disregarding the fan torture as they entered and left. In contrast, the Strawberry Stage (main arena) was too big!

With the whole Tokyo Idol Project they're launching, I hope they make some changes. Odaiba is far and expensive to get to because it's on an island and there's not much else there except shopping malls. And as mentioned many times before, there's less incentive to pay since other people can just walk by and watch for free anyway (every stage except for Sky, Doll Factory and Enjoy Stage). But, it is kind of amusing to see the reaction of random ppl since there's an international student dorm by Smile Garden.

Oh yes, La PomPon. Time for front row again! :w00t: Wait, something's confusing here :?
Thanks for providing the link!

About the update, my faves are:
Dianna☆Sweet
Party Rockets :w00t: :w00t: :w00t:
Lovely★DOLL (if only for Yuriko now though)
Predia

Probably skip one of the Doll Elements groups. Get's kind of repetitive. But if I think about it, I could then oshi a different girl each time. Hmm....  8)

Tsutomo will like the inclusion of Lyrical School ;)

Especia I will avoid like a cat does water. Terrible, terrible music...

Ooh, the new shirt looks much better than last years. The colour though - why such dark blue???

no surprise on the names of the second announcement. I like the fact that this year they are announcing way earlier than past year. the second one came only at May 2nd in 2014.

I like Yuffie and Predia but yeah, the big name for me is Lyrical School. I'd say they are my second favorite group nowadays only after Azunyan Up Up Girls Kakkokari.  8)

a little off-topic but... I'm so glad the wotas in 2ch are not considering me Up Up fans as "bad ones" anymore.  :twothumbs we're out of the perceived "danger list" for the first time since a long long time. and before someone jokes that it's because I'm not seeing them, no! that's exactly the opposite! I've never seen the group so frequently as I've been doing recently.  :P I guess the reasoning for this is simply because other fanbases have developed into worse ones and surpassed us. which is quite sad, actually. but I won't lie that I'm laughing from others misery now.  :P

From the live stream it seems like their will be new idol collaborations, different from the typical Idoling x [random group] that they do every year. I think they are:
PASSPO x Fudanjuku
Idoling x Babyraids
Afilia Saga x DLH
UpUp Girls x LinQ

^^ Maybe the shirt color will look different in person. It's pretty common for a shirt to look a certain color online and when it arrives it looks a little different. I bet the shirt is actually pink.

And I'll be front row for every predia and Doll Elements stage. And maaaaybe La PomPon. By default because no one will be there! :yossi:

I really hope Up Up dont make a colab with LinQ. they suck. keep the Team Makenki that its better.

or have a colab with G-girls since they perform in bikinis so I can have Up Up in bikinis too.  :twothumbs Ayano is still owing this to us.  :P

The new LinQ song is pretty good though...
Lovely DOLL got some new members so that should be interesting to see.
Will GALETTe get a new member before TIF or keep using Akari from Party Rockets?
"BUMP" was great but kind of let down by La PomPon's "HOT GIRLS". Sounded like generic K-pop to me.
DIANNA☆SWEET got a new member "Okamomo" (Momoko Okamoto) and the kiddies went off to concentrate on predianna (will probably get announced for TIF later?)
Hopefully drop will have a music video come out soon. How does a group that represents the "Twin Tail Association of Japan" not have a music video out yet?
If Pla2me is announced, it will be the "new Pla2me" OTL

Obvious collabs there should be if they already weren't announced:
Otome Rockets since they already did a tour
lyrical school x Upga
Title: Re: The Tokyo Idol Festival 2015 Thread
Post by: tsutomo on April 18, 2015, 04:01:11 PM
lyrical school and up up already had a colab show so I'd prefer something new. and that one that didn't turn all that nice, despite the groups being both superb. actually one that I think would be very interesting is Yurumerumo x Denpa Gumi. an obvious choice would be lyrical school with rhymeberry. predia with chu-z... fyt with akishibu project... and up up with team shachihoko because.... fuck only because I want it!  XD give me nyansan singing "tsukete miso miso... kakete miso miso" and I'll die in joy and pleasure. woooooo

I assume the first, could you explain why they are "bad", is it the behavior or what?

I'd like more Doll Elements x NEO from Idoling. I actually became a fan of NEO because of the collaboration. I think joint projects can work when there is actual effort put in or the groups have natural chemistry.

TIF excitement is officially back! :yossi:

So which groups you want to have there? Which ones do you think won't appear?

I want Bellring Girls Heart and PiiiiiiiN, of course. Super Girls would be great again, but I doubt it. Same with Chu-Z. I would like to have some more small rock idols there as well, not necessarily because I enjoy them but to make TIF more diverse and representative. JyuJyu would be great.

Keep up your TIF excitement ! Hopefully further news won't disrupt them. I anxiously await the new map and organisation details.
Title: Re: The Tokyo Idol Festival 2015 Thread

I think tsutomo means "bad ones" in terms of behavior, "fans" who cause trouble for other people and do idiotic things like get naked.

On that note, I'm hoping Maison book girl and BILLIE IDLE get added (related since BiS seemed to attract those "bad ones" after they went to Avex) because I've gotten to like them both, not because I want to see bad things happen.

As far as groups known for dancing go, Q'ulle or COLOR POINTE would be cool too.

If new Rhymeberry comes then hopefully Oyasumi Hologram will too so Miri and Hachigatsu-chan can perform as 8mm. Not sure if Oyasumi Hologram's fans will do anything bad though. There was that video where someone lifted up their skirt and peeked.
Title: Re: The Tokyo Idol Festival 2015 Thread
Post by: qwiksXnd on April 18, 2015, 09:18:25 PM
Groups I'd like (split into my preference)

tier 1
SUPER☆GiRLS (I think they'll return this year--female intuition)
GEM
PiiiiiiiN
Houkago Princess
PPP! PiXiON
Narumi Takiguchi
World Standard (the new iDOL Street group)

tier 2
9nine (hopefully they return)
READY TO KISS
Ai Shinozaki
HimeKyun (although unlikely)
nanoCUNE
Links
Honey Spice
negaigoto
Yumemiru Adolescence

I would also love for Fairies to attend.

I'd also like the organizers to stop caring so much about one-upping the idol count each year. Unless they added two or three more stages, which could then accommodate the large number of groups plus longer setlists. But I don't have a lot of faith in the organizers doing anything that increases their work.

I already learned from the past and won't hold expectations of any group I like being added. I just hope for

2- plenty of free stages again since I won't buy tickets this time
3- no 'trash wotas' showing up during Up Up shows

Is it better to just have a friend buy the ticket at a combini rather than go through the pre-registration process at http://idolfes.com/2015/english.html (http://idolfes.com/2015/english.html)  :?

Gone through the process and I haven't even received a confirmation process....any help would be much appreciated  :twothumbs
Title: Re: The Tokyo Idol Festival 2015 Thread

since the tickets dont sell out (unless they surprise with a BIG name. if I remember correctly tickets sold out the first year HKT was announced), you can even come without ticket at all and only buy some days before or at the door. or even better, you can simply watch for free without tickets, if they do something similar as past year. only three stages had restricted access last time. that`s what me, for example, am going to do.  :)

OT> the big @Jam expo at the end of august started to announce their first groups too. 10 for now. past year they had 100 and I wonder if they`ll keep that way or try to call more this time. they have an inevitable space limit to put up more stages, so I can`t see them going too further than that...

^^ Wattstax and I didn't receive confirmations, but there was a pop-up thanking you for the application (it mentioned something about them not accepting phone inquiries, if that helps you remember).

I'm curious whether the tickets will somehow be different than the normal wristbands, but I'm just purchasing when I get there (they won't sell out, if that is your concern). They dropped the ball last year with tickets for foreigners (had to wait until 10:00 to pick up the ticket, as opposed to 8:00 like everyone else, which is an issue if you want to queue early for a stage).

@Ketchup
Listen to QwiksXnd, only in the regards of tickets of course. Don't confuse the pre-registration with regular ticket sales. At least that is the way I am reading it.
The last time I ordered a 'japanese' ticket and was therefore able to get my wristband shortly after 8 am. Will probably do the same this time. Depends on the stages. As it is much too hot in summer for me and I will already spend lots of time in (Greeting Square lol) I will get me a ticket to enter the air-conditioned ones. Don't like to mix up with the crowd in DiverCity, all sweaty and such.

they can still participate in @Jam Expo, so nothing carved in stone yet. although in TIF, given the producers behind it, I expect a "special" farewell show while in @Jam Expo they would probably have an ordinary one.

New announcements. Mostly expected groups, but great ones (at least for me).

Idol College
Akishibu Project
Ayumikurikamaki
Onnajuku Allstars
The Hoopers
Stereo Japan
Tsubasa Fly
Hakoiri Musume
Bakusute Satokanda Icchome
Bellring Girls Heart
Houkago Princess
Maria
Moso Calibration

Of course I am more than happy about Bellring Girls Heart, but great to see Ayumikurikamaki and Tsubasa Fly again.
Houkago Princess and Moso Calibration should be good news for some.

I am not impressed. 50 groups and still missing

Denpa Gumi.inc - You Kikkawa - Hime Kyun Fruit Can - Super Girls - GEM - Ryutist - FYT - Rio Hiiragi - Mai Kotone - Koto - Chu-Z... just to name a few relevant names. I wonder why they always invite some unknown groups (like this stereo japan... wtf is this?) but NEVER one of those I appreciate or am used to. like some Re-2, Whoopie Whoopie, Shibuya Dominion, Feam...  :(

Well, Mai Kotone was there last year and will with high probability appear again. Chu-Z or Hime Kyun I highly doubt.
I understand the way of inviting some new/unknown groups. They should be supported to be kept motivated.
Why should they care for your taste? ;P I am satisfied already. 3 of my Top 5 groups are there plus some I really like.

10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. (subject to change)

[Location]
Odaiba & Aomi Area, Tokyo

[Wristband Exchange Point]
The location will be announced soon on the official website by mid-July.
Please note that we are unable to answer questions regarding this special invitation via email or telephone.

Hrm no mention about what time foreigners would be allowed to pick up a wristband compared to people who purchase a ticket through normal means :?

I'm not too worried about the heat as I survived 2 days of Summer Sonic in Osaka...got myself a decent tan :D

I am surprised that it now seems to be valid for "2 Days" (-> PASSPO reference :D).
But I expect TIF staff to hand out the tickets far later than regular ones. As QwiksXnd stated some posts before about last year, it was the same then. And the only thing you can be certain of, that if it can get worse, TIF staff will make it possible...

I already fear the heat. If they at least would put up some rest areas with roofs to block the sun, Market Square was hell...

New Announcements.
Surprisingly they added PassCode. TIF really seems to become more diverse. Now there is hope they invite JyuJyu as well.

But the best: PiiiiiiiN is also in the line-up. I really freak out now. My Top 3 idols are around! Just one complication: How to dress now? Changing fan shirts during the day will be impossible in the heat. And putting on full PASSPO wota gear seems not adequate. Any ideas?

Now I must hope that schedules don't intertwine! And my initial plan to take food with me is skipped with the inclusion of Chubbiness. Carrying food near your body with them around is more then reckless...

Nevertheless totally excited !!!

Most excited about Kiyoshi Ryujin 25 out of all the new groups! I didn't want to like them but after I saw them live, they were amazing! I couldn't stop smiling! Definitely wins for best idol group with a dude in it! I feel bad for the guy in Dream 5 especially after seeing the new Yokai Taiso video. At least the kid from Tempura Kids seems like he's crazy so I don't care that he sometimes wears dresses to match the girls.

Dorothy Little Happy and callme? There better be a "collab" between them!

interesting, this year they are following a completely different pattern in the announcements.

more frequent announces, but with less groups added.

the ones that appeared this time (making up to 60 groups in total):

Ganbare! Victory
Kiyoshi Ryujin25
callme
Starmarie
Senosister
Chubbiness
Dream5
hy4_4yh
Passcode
Piiiiiiin

some important names but nothing to write home about.

some important names but nothing to write home about.
Thanks for the list. Was too lazy to do it

It is true that the names are no biggies. Well, I don't care. Not even if they would add MomoClo or AKB. But I understand that big names a a requirement for keeping TIF alive.

I think we can assume updates will be weekly on Friday or Saturday.

Alice in Alice
Eien Shoujou
Sakura Gakuin
CMT
Siam & POPTUNE
Tsuribit
TPD Dash
Tokyo Performance Doll
Bandjanaimon
Through Skills
Yamaguchi Kassei Gakuen
Yumemiru Adolescence

It is true that the names are no biggies.
Chubbiness aren't a big group? :)

You are absolutely right. The footprints, other AVEX have left before, are easily exceed by just one member of Chubbiness. Comparable to a T-Rex stepping on a birds track marks. No idea, how I could oversee that but it may be similar in missing out on recognizing the forest because of many trees.
(I hope you have this quote in your contry too. Otherwise I made no sense there.)

But about the new announcements: Nothing that interests me.

But honestly they would barely be considered chubby outside Japan.

But the best: PiiiiiiiN is also in the line-up.
I really like them as well and want to buy their stuff but I can only find a single, don't they have anything else released?

At this point I think I'll just risk my life and go this year despite the heat.

yeah seems like weekly updates this year. that was probably the best one so far, regarding the relevance (that I complained about earlier) of the groups added. arguably 9 solid names to the lineup, although I'm not a fan of a single one of them.

You should risk it. It is fun, mostly.
Regarding PiiiiiiiN: They released 4 singles so far, but none of them for official sale it seems. At least I never saw them in Online Stores or in CD Shops. In the meantime you should check the official Twitter. They posted all songs they performed in their Two Man on March 29th. If you go to TIF you could buy them there directly. Or, as you seem to be german, I buy them for you and send it via postal service. That way I can acquire more event tickets
You seem to have great taste btw :D

Does anyone remember when TIF released organisational details, like the map and stages, last year?

Actually I'm Danish, my name is just some random thing I picked up from an old Danish comedy show (it was the name of a viagra type thing), not sure why I picked that name, in hindsight it seems really stupid

About PiiiiiiiN I saw the videos the uploaded a couple of days ago, I assume those are the ones you refer to. On Amazon.co.jp you can buy two of their songs as mp3's.

I assume you can buy tickets for TIF at the entrance or do you need to get one in advance (I didn't bother with the free ones since I wasn't planning to go)

That explains a lot. You shouldn't translate your nick name to an idol. Could backfire ;P Denmark is close. (Give me a reason to buy more of their merchandise :D )
Check it out again. They posted additional clips as well as a new song.
Yes, there are ticket counters around the area. But if you are unlucky they are sold out, especially on days when the big names perform. But never mind. There will be again more than enough free stages if that happens.

It's not really my nickname, I have no idea why I even picked it... I think back when I registered I never thought I would actually be posting here. Btw. I'm Marty on twitter.

And I would be interested in merchandise but are you really going to Japan again before TIF?

Why you assume I going to Japan before TIF? Nevertheless it is not the case. My next trip starts the weekend before TIF. So if you go there anyway, buy it yourself ;)

Don't know how it actually works, but two day passes should be in less demand. But not sure.

So PiiiiiiiN has 7 "i"s in it?
It's like Yuffie's new single has 7 "he"s in it. "Fuhehehehehehehe Daisakusen".
Or how some Japanese people try to convince me that it's proper to write THE Possible as THE Possibooooo with 5 "o"s. Possible is an English word. GTFO here with your half-assed Romanization! Ain't nobody gonna find the group using that method!

Japan is big on those "kaijo gentei" (event limited) CDs since the sales mean handshakes and chekis. Was lucky to get Maison book girl's "kaijo gentai" CDs before they sold out. Still annoyed that I forgot to order Matsumura Kaori's single when they restocked it. It goes for over 5,000 yen on Amazon now.

Akishibu project didn't release any CDs until last month but at least their YouTube channel has a lot of clips.

Excited about Bandjanaimon! They're kinda Dempagumi-like. The name makes sense since Masako is the only one who actually seems to be able to play an instrument (drums). Looks like Ganbare Victory is the only girls' band so far. Since Cyntia went all pop, I wonder if they'll be back? Setting up for a band is kind of time consuming so they might be stuck at Smile Garden so probably no big names. At the most, maybe LovendoR?

Yes, seven i's. Me and qwiksXnd always complain about it. Have no idea of the spelling's intention, if any was even involved.

I always wondered about the right name of The Possible. So it really is like that, the English wording...

I would like to see Band Maid, when it concerns instrument playing idols. But last TIF I missed out on Lovendor too, as schedules chlashed. Maybe PASSPO does a band session though.

it bothers me too. I always write The Possible, Team Shachihoko, etc... fuck those stylized romanizations, there are not "cool" or whatever the intention was, I find them all lame. just plain lame.

if they are gonna invite band groups, Le Lien is a low profile that was there last year and imo is very good. but should just aim higher and bring some Silent Siren or Scandal. make this shit be BIG this year.  8)

Each "i" represents a member. So even though it's annoying writing 7 i's each time, at least there aren't 48 members.

And for TIF 2012 and 2013, stage/map details were revealed two weeks ahead of the event. I don't remember when it went up last year, but I think it went up much earlier, like a month ahead.

I might go and try check out BiSH's release events and see how they are at Shinjuku on the 27th of Shibuya on the 28th. I doubt they'll be too crazy as I would hope the fans would know not to destroy a Tower Records. Kinda seems pointless as they already released all the songs on Soundcloud anyway though.

I wonder if GALETTe will get new members by then or keep using Akari from Party Rockets.

With the current state of palet, I was surprised that they got invited.

At least with Babyraids JAPAN, there's another chance Matsui Rena will be spotted sneaking around to go watch them?

I love when idols are fans of other idols, I started to follow Ayaka from Lyrical School since she's always raving about other idols and it's so cute to see :)

they should have appointed the release event in the Cutup Studio, not on the 1F. then people would go crazy since down there jumping and everything is allowed.

Rena is definitely going since SKE48 will perform in TIF this year again   (one can always dream...)

there's lots of idols who like other idol/groups. but few are so hardcore as Ayaka. rofl

Akari is still in Galette? Another event I have to put on my list then. Although I don't like the group...
What is the situation with Palet? I only saw that they are only six members now.

@immergeil
Ah, don't worry. If it is too hot you can escape to DiverCity or in one of the indoor stages, which are air-conditioned. The other times you just have to get yourself enough supply of drinks and don't stay to long in Greeting Square, like me
Title: Re: The Tokyo Idol Festival 2015 Thread

While HKT48 was at the Hot Stage, Sasshi called out Rena who was trying to be discreet near the backstage area, basically saying "you just came to see Babyraids (and not HKT48), didn't you?" and everyone in the crowd looked over at her. At the Hibiya and Budokan lives, there were flowers sent from Rena also, so yeah, she likes them.

I haven't seen GALETTe live since @JAM when Ayano graduated but, Akari was "support member" for a bunch of their release events and was even on one of the covers of their mini album. I like Nonoko so they're on my list.

A couple weeks ago a-nation's schedule was revealed and IDOL NATION (the idol concert of a-nation) was scheduled for August 3. If none of the iDOL Street groups attend TIF, it will be possible to see them the following day at IDOL NATION.

Today it was announced that there will be a TIF x IDOL NATION collaboration. I would expect all the iDOL Street and avex idol groups to attend. Current lineup is SUPER☆GiRLS, Doll☆Elements, Idoling!!!, callme, World Standard, prizzmy, iris, X21, and Doll☆Elements.

HKT was announced for TIF.

Also Fuji TV will again hold another festival at the same time in the same area. In 2014 it was Mezamashi Live, now it is the Odaiba Dream Continent (http://www.fujitv.co.jp/yumetairiku/index.html). The HOT STAGE will be again used by both festivals as a venue. TIF making the same mistakes again.
The My Navi Stage will now be relocated on 1st Floor in the Fuji TV Building during TIF. It seems the Odaiba Dream Continent Area will also be accessible by 2-Day-wristband holders.

What I find interesting: They already released a map of the area. I wonder if the place named MAGIC BEACH will be for the bikini lives. QwiksXnd must have intervened.

Niji no Conquistador was announced, in three different entities. Didn't know, they are a second Idol Nation. Please enlighten me, tsutomo. Weren't you a big fan of them? :P

I am wondering im TIF will have fewer groups in their line-up this year. We are only at 100 and a bit. I can not imagine they pull out 40 names in the time left.

Do they perform in swimsuits?

---

I spent 4 hours trying to pick another hotel last night after I re-booked my flight... ended up at a place close to Shinangawa Seaside Station so at least it should be easy to get to TIF from there (not anywhere else though).

You should ask QwiksXnd. He is the swimsuit expert amongst us.

Well, you are right. Great location for TIF (exit is Tokyo Teleport?) but a bit troublesome for other areas. Seems you can only change at Oimachi.
Btw I plan to visit Odaiba before TIF. There is a nice Yakisoba place  If you want I can show you around the area to make you acquainted with the surroundings and things to take care of.

I just realized they added some more groups. Now up to 114. And as I see it, I will hardly have time for any performance and will camp in Meeting Square instead.

Actually after having checked my place is also pretty perfect for Ebisu Garden Hall, now I'm really happy with my choice :)

And yes by all means lets go there, I have no plans for mon-fri at this point, so far I decided on Platinum sonic/Passpo on the the 25'th and Muto Ayami on the 26'th, I might go for Silent Siren on the 24'th if I can get a ticket at the door.

the groups added this week, bringing the count to 114 were:

Niji no Conquistador and two sub-units (talk about lame gimmicks to increase the number of participants without really adding new groups...)
Otome Brave
Camouflage
SIR
sendai syrup
Rio Hiiragi
POP (former pla2me)
Fruity
mimi meme MIMI
Mirai Skirt
Shooting Star Girls
Le Lien

bolded are the relevant names. they FINALLY corrected a major error from past editions when they didn't invite RioRio, one of the most cult and successful solo idols. still a lot of important names missing though. can't take seriously a festival with no Chu-Z, FEAM, Koto, Shibuya Dominion...

My guess is that only a handful of big names are "invited" (or even paid?) to attend, the rest have to pay a fee, sorta like renting a booth at a con or expo... :bigdeal:

People have to pay a fee to play at TIF??? Wow, that's completely the opposite from music festivals in the UK...
Title: Re: The Tokyo Idol Festival 2015 Thread

I wouldn't doubt that, Xuinone. though I think the main obstacle is that TIF producers get along well with some agencies and not with others, so groups of these later agencies get completely ignored although their relevance.

Vlinorman, FEAM attended the festival in 2011 and 2012, but have been missing since then. although they grew and are now a much better group in all aspects, including fanbase size.
Title: Re: The Tokyo Idol Festival 2015 Thread

the groups added today, bringing the count to 123 were:

Sakura Ebi's
Jumpin'&Suzuca
Splash
Tokimeki Sendenbu
Batten Showjo Tai
Puti Passpo
Festive
Faint Star
Pour Lui Parallel Japan (a new project between former BiS leader Pour Lui, who will still continue with her group Lui Frontic Akabane Japan, and an obscure group called Parallel Japan. never heard about them)

so, being gentle, two new relevant names added. we are probably approaching the last few names to be added unless they really surpass last year's record (138). they usually keep some big names to the end, let's see.

added nine more groups so the count reaches 132 now. only a few more to finish the lineup.

idol street e-street
idol street w-street
gem
super girls
cheeky parade

dear stars
yuiga dokuson
re:girls

the Avex groups are an important addition. but...
they'll be attending both festivals... which makes the Idol Nation nothing more than a repeat or an unofficial third day of TIF.

Title: Re: The Tokyo Idol Festival 2015 Thread

it completely takes away the point of making a collaboration if they`re gonna have the same shows in back to back days. that`s not something smart to do, marketing wise. it will not attract more fans, the tendency is to attract fewer. "bad planning" is not a small detail when we are talking about big festivals with loads of money involved. it`s actually a crucial point. but whatever, by now I really should not expect intelligence from those TIF producers eitherway so I guess it`s a moot point.

ten new groups, bringing the count to 142 now. we already passed last year's number to set a new record. don't expect much more to be added.

AnMiRan (that special unit created for the @Jam festival. curious to see them appearing in a 'rival' event)
Caramel
Shizukaze & Kizuna (big addition! I thought that since the group will disband soon they wouldn't appear anymore. looks like they'll be together at least until september)
Ai Shinozaki (now solo after AeLL. disbanded. particularly I like Erika Nishi's works more...)
3b Junior (more small Stardust groups. where the fuck is Team Shachihoko, dammit!?!?)
Versus Kids
Luna Haruna
FYT (finally! it was so strange to see the addition of all groups from Platinum Passport but them)
Magical Dreamin
Ru:Run

so that's not the final announcement yet, since they always reserve some big name for it. and this crop of groups... is very weak, to be polite.

they released the map. eight stages, one more than past year. thanks to the return of Zepp DiverCity. apart from that, the same shit we saw in 2014.

three of them will have free entrance and another one (the main stage) will be accessible from that family event in the same area (whose ticket costs 1800 yens, while TIF ticket costs 6000). for people that don't want to expend so much like me, it's nice.  :P

they will be announcing the last few groups soon. let's see if they can end in a high note.

If Hot Stage is like last time, with small wristband area and a lot of campers, I probably skip it this time. Rather try my luck with Sky Stage once (maybe).
I don't need any big name. I rather want to see another group I care about, though the current line up is sufficient as it is. Now fingers crossed for good schedule.

on top of that, the @Jam All-stars team this year will have Rana from GEM, Pinky from Denpa Gumi and.... my fucking MaiMai from fucking Hime Kyun fucking Fruit Can! Oh my gosh!  :cow:

this festival will be memorable.

Title: Re: The Tokyo Idol Festival 2015 Thread
Post by: tsutomo on July 15, 2015, 03:15:18 PM
wow the time table screwed me big time. so many groups I like playing at the same time while in other time slots I have literally nothing to do. but well, since they added SKE and put Up Up as basically the group with more performances on the day, I guess I have no business complaining.  :nervous

my probable time table will be:

10.05-10.25 Cheeky Parade at Smile Garden
10.40-10.55 FYT at Enjoy Stadium

these first two I`ll only watch depending on the SKE girls performing there. if they announce a combo of Churi + Sumero + Koishi/Nakki, then I`ll probably camp at Zepp`s door since friday night rofl

11.10-11.50 SKE48 at Zepp Divercity

12.50-13.20 Idol Summer Jamboree (some Passpo and Up Up girls will be there so...) at Smile Garden

14.30-15.00 Up Up at Main Stage
15.10-15.30 Starmarie at Enjoy Stadium
15.40-15.55 BiSH at Smile Garden
16.10-16.25 SIR at Enjoy Stadium
16.45-17.25 Idol Summer Jamboree Acoustic (Nyansan. enough said) at Smile Garden
17.50-18.05 Yuffie at Sky Stage
18.15-18.30 Idol College at Sky Stage
18.45-19.00 Predia at Smile Garden

19.20-19.40 Ayumikurikamaki at Zepp Divercity (unsure about this one. I`ll probably change and pick something not so cool but closer...)

19.50-20.05 Musubizm at My Navi
20.05-20.20 You Kikkawa at My Navi
20.20-20.35 Up Up at My Navi
20.50-21.10 Lyrical School at Zepp Divercity

21.40-22.00 Afilia Saga at Doll Factory

tried to put it up taking into account the distances and probable delays. the stages are basically separated in two distinct areas: Main Stage-Zepp-Festival-My Navi and Sky-Doll-Enjoy-Smile. so seeing a show at the first area and another right after in the second area is not achievable. sucks I won`t be able to see RioRio, Akishibu, Nananon, Mainya, Shizukaze and some acts I never saw before.  :(

Wow, tsutomo, then we NOT even have one time in common!

With the experience of the last TIF I made myself a schedule which should work out. Only discrepancies could arise when Market Square schedule is announced and when the wristband exchange takes longer than expected (which I am sure it will). I will skip Hot Stage completely, and try to get on Sky Stage for the first time.

Otherwise my 1st day:
Sky Stage PiiiiiiiN and Luce Twinkle Wink
Then from 11:15 to 13:05 nothing
Heat Garage Super Girls
Enjoy Stadium Doll Elements
Heat Garage Luce Twinkle Wink
Smile Garden PiiiiiiiN
Festival Stage Party Rockets
My Navi Stage Fruity
Heat Garage Hachake Tai and Ayumikurikamaki
OR INSTEAD Enjoy Stadium from PiiiiiiiN up to Party Rockets
Sky Stage Predia (if queue is manageable)
Doll Factory Afilia Saga

Day 2
Smile Garden Lovely Doll
My Navi Stage PiiiiiiiN
Heat Garage Bellring Girls Heart
My Navi Stage Tsubasa Fly
Smile Garden Hachake Tai
My Navi Stage Predia
Doll Factory PiiiiiiiN
Smile Garden Super Girls
Heat Garage PASSPO / Lovely Doll / Super Girls
Either Enjoy Stadium Bellring Girls Heart and Smile Garden PASSPO
or Heat Garage Doll Elements / Predia / Dempagumi Inc.

I also will be on the lookout for Idols handing out flyers. I expect to meet some acquaintances there.

No, that is Hot Stage. Only in closed venues BEFORE special TIF shows, like the Exciting Dance and Live Express in Heat Stage this could be possible. For Hot Stage you "just" have to queue up hours early if you want to get in the wristband area.

we will both see Afilia Saga at the end of the day.

surprised by the lack of Passpo and Denpa Gumi in ur schedule.

of course we will be far from each other. while I`m favoring Up Up over others you are following Piiin, Luce Woink and others instead.

we still could see some shows (or go eat something) after SKE since we`re both free for quite some time.

I now see you really h-a-t-e RioRio and by doing this, you turned into a persona non grata in my books.  :P

@Rezar It looks like the only "special" stage that may have a separate queue is the DMM.yell live at Heat Garage on day 2. Previously these types of shows were only at Doll Factory and Enjoy Stadium, which are smaller and easier for staff to manage. It would take longer to clear out Zepp DiverCity, so I don't think you will have to worry about being forced to leave a stage this year (although they did allot time before and after that show, so it's possible). The "Exciting Dance and Live Express" is a themed show and wouldn't be one of the special stages (special stages are highlighted in a slightly different color).

Dempa and Passpo on Hot Stage - No!
And I don't care for colabs.
As I assume the wristband to foreigners will only handed out around 10, Hot Stage is out of question either way. Seeing PiiiiiiiN at the start is my hope as it would allow me to go for Sky Stage at least once. Probably skip Dempa completely (Day 2 clash with Passpo).

I didn't look for Rio's name. It is fate for missing her in Paris and London. Why try now? lol

Bellring has a Two Man on the evening of Day 1. I am contemplating of going there instead...

We should keep the plan of meeting around noon on Day 1. BUT I have to wait for the Market schedule to be sure.

Thanks QwiksXnd. I absolutely want to go for the DMM.Yell show.

Is Chubbiness only performing once? The biggest group at TIF on one of the smallest stages for only 15 minutes. The ironing. It's a horrible president for all future “large bodied” idol groups. Clearly they are not wanted at the perverbial “largest” idol festival in the world. Of course it's a moo point since there aren't any bikini stages, which is where Chubbiness does their best work.

As Tsutomo wrote, Stages Zones are basically: Main Stage-Zepp-Festival-My Navi and Sky-Doll-Enjoy-Smile. Between the two areas you must reckon with a walking time of 15 minutes, at least. But consider lots of people and heat on the way in your planning.
Sky Stage is special because of the elevator and therefore often long waiting line. Hot Stage has long lines when you want to go for the paid area.

For a better timetable: Nothing so far. Maybe they add some new version later. I just copied the schedule on my PC (mobile site only has each Stage seperate, which makes it hard t compare the times) and then, after reworking in an image program, printed it.

from one extreme to another (My Navi till Smile Garden) you`d probably take a 25 minutes walk. the only stages where you can go from one to another without losing some precious minutes is between Enjoy Stadium and Doll Factory, since they`re basically two studios with entrances right in front of each other. though if I remember correctly, you have to get out during a performance to be allowed to enter the other studio without waiting in the line outside, otherwise you and all the people leaving will be obligated to take the exit corridor. Sky Stage is at the same time the best and worst of all stages in the festival. best because of the sightseeing. the idols performing with a panoramic Tokyo Bay view behind. the worst because of the use of only one elevator to go up. and you have to finish the path taking some stairs. depending on who`s performing there, the elevator lanes can take more than an hour easily.

the fact is: TIF don`t delivers its premise to present the most idol groups than any other festival. if you really want to see a lot of groups (and discover some diamonds in the rough), you better take your time and see some Idol Koushien, Idol Yokocho, @Jam, Love Mark, etc. at TIF you have to only focus in the few groups you really like and... everything besides that are profits. TIF is not a place to see several groups. despite having more than 150 groups, if you actually manage to see 30 of them you can be considered a lucky person already.

but hey, I`m not complaining. I love TIF!  :) its one the seven wonders of the world. after they added SKE and scheduled a dozen of shows with Up Up =P

Does TIF really want to be the festival with the most groups? I thought they wanted to be the biggest and most important idol event, with being outdoors at Odaiba and all. This doesn't necessarily mean a growth in numbers. But whatever, I agree with you that they are far from it.
Though I don't see your point in not getting to know other new groups there. Outdoor and Indoor festivals can not be compared.  The walking distance is something you can not really change, when managing several stages. That is nothing I blame them for.

Anyway, the more often I revise my schedule, the more it changes. Now with Akari having left Party Rockets, I want to support the other members more.
Title: Re: The Tokyo Idol Festival 2015 Thread

well, the fact they are year after year establishing new record numbers of participants I think speaks for itself. and I disagree that nothing can be done about distances. even if they really needed to do the festival in Odaiba, they could manage it a lot better. Venus Fort, Mega Web and Zepp Tokyo are not used. they are closer (and indoor!) to the Smile Garden area than My Navi, for example. Smile Garden stage could be placed in another point too, since the that park/walkaway is huge. see other big music festivals (such as Summersonic or Rock in Japan), they are a lot better planned so you don`t need to lose so much time walking or in entrance lines. when they have a bigger distance, they offer a free shuttle bus between stages. TIF on the other hand doesn`t even put fucking maps in the park showing which direction is each stage. -___-

wattstax and I already changed our plans for the scheduled shows.  :nervous

one thing is for sure. there are TWO shows I`ll see no matter what fucking happens. I`ll kill if needed. SKE48 since the senbatsu members will be performing (which means my fucking Churi and delicious Sumero) and Afilia Saga since I wanna see Raymee one more time (will be difficult to me to see her later until her graduation show). the others... if I can see, nice. if I can`t, whatever. even Up Up. sorry Nyansan.

I just realized this thread is here.
I lucked out and got a free foreigner pass. I also work for an airline so I can fly nearly free as well. I got the time off from work so... my cheapest Japan trip yet!  :twothumbs:
This will be my first time at TIF and I've read all the comments about heat, crowds etc..., which is all expected for this kind of thing. I'm working on a schedule of who I want to see. I have about 13 stages on my list for the 2 days and, hopefully, enough time to travel between them. I have some free time to wander around if I don't have to stand in long queues too much.
I'm a little confused about the entry for some venues. If I go to the DMM.yell special at "Heat Garage" 16:05 on 8/2, can I just stay in there and watch the other shows until Dempagumi Inc. performs there at 18:55?
Title: Re: The Tokyo Idol Festival 2015 Thread

"Heat Garage" aka Zepp Diver City wasn't there last year but, I am guessing that, like other stages, as long as you plan to stay and watch, you don't have to leave. I distinctly recall some fans (of a certain group) who were camped out for hours at Hot Stage with their arms crossed waiting for their group to appear last year.

Probably mentioned before but, if you're not staying in Odaiba and planning to take the Yurikamome, it'll be near impossible to get on at anywhere but Shimbashi (where it starts) because there's also that Fuji TV event going on so a ton of families and stuff will be going there. 2nd day I tried to get on at Shiodome (one station away) and I let 2 trains go by before I just shoved myself in there.

San Minute apparently changed name to Sanmini !!! (サンミニッツ → サンミニ)

And I think my Fiance (https://twitter.com/miyu030227/status/622928537721245696) is saying that she needs to get #1 or #2 to be able to go to TIFF (probably not likely)

What is the use of the spread sheet? It is basically the plan released by TIF.
I liked San Minutes more as a name. I will be curious, if they thought about changing the name BEFORE printing the merchandize for Platinum Sonic.
I have a different idol I support for the DMM.Yell spot. Let the competition start!

I installed the app but I can't figure out how to find her :/ also do they compete for a performance at TIF or what, and as I said it's unlikely they could make it with so many more popular idols in the competition.

Yes. They compete for a live at TIF, probably the one on Heat Stage still left undetermined on Sunday.
You search by clicking the magnifier glass and then type the name of the idol (if solo act) or the group. Or you scroll the list.
But yea. Too many popular idols in the run...

Title: Re: The Tokyo Idol Festival 2015 Thread
Post by: qwiksXnd on July 24, 2015, 12:36:13 AM
I'm pretty sure it would be ok for you to have a camera in your bag. None of the stages have bag checks, only the marketplace/greeting area, and considering there are 2-shot events it would make sense to have a camera. It's possible to take photos at the outdoor stages like Smile Garden and My Navi, although I wouldn't recommend being obvious about it like setting up a tripod and taking photos nonstop.

By any chance are you still an Idoling fan, and if so, were you planning on attending any of these:

The mini-lives at the My Navi stage are free, but in order to get a ticket for the priority area, you need to pick one up in the first floor of the Fuji TV building about 90 minutes beforehand. Or you could just watch the live from outside the priority area. The appealing points for me are the small teams and the timing, since the events are in the morning and less chance to interfere with a normal scheduled concert. I was confused about the handshake event and the items that qualify, but no worries.

This is a photo of My Navi stage I took last year, which shows the priority area in front, fans queuing, a pervy TIF staff member watching the idols change, and the areas outside the priority area where anyone can watch.
https://passpogasm.files.wordpress.com/2014/08/navi-stage.jpg

And don't worry if this is off topic, I'll allow it.

I think the mini lives are an ongoing thing coinciding with Fuji's summer festival, so I think they will continue through the end of August. There won't be any lives from 7.30-8.3 though.

For those following the DMM.yell TIF vote that didn't see the ranking update today, at the halfway point HR is in first place with a pretty big lead.

well, I completely changed my schedule based on some things like the fact that a friend of mine won't be going anymore and now I'm aware of other people's schedules, so it turned into this:

I had plans to see Cheeky Parade and FYT, but since Shaun will be going for a combo of shows in Divercity, I'll make the same. sorry, Areki. Chikipa is not a big loss. yeah, I'll have to see three groups I don't like, but in life we have to make sacrifices for the better. as long as I can see Churi and Sumero from the first row, all will be good. =) this plan is way safer than risking mai waifu just for 15 minutes of Areki's bouncing boobs.

10:10~11:50 Divercity (Neo from Idoling!!!, Sunmyu, Bakusute, SKE48)

nothing really changed after that. I'll be seeing this Caramel crap just because. 30 minutes I think is a safe time slot to move from places and buy me some drinks in the meanwhile.

12:20~13:20 Smile Garden (Caramel, Idol Summer Jamboree with Nonsan and Konappai  )

I had some free time so I decided to go to the Main Stage early. it's safer than going too close to Up Up's time slot and having to see them (like past year) perform from the lanes on the side of the stage.

13:55~15:10 Main Stage (Tokyo Performance Doll, Up Up Girls Kakkokari, Team Makenki)

no BiSH or Starmarie, but none is big loss eitherway. better kill the time camping on the cool Enjoy Stadium. the combo there is not that bad. once again, 30 safe minutes for walking.

15:40~16:25 Enjoy Stadium (Ayumikurikamaki, Tenkou Shojo Kagekidan, SIR)

no Yuffie or Idol College, but I've seen them plenty already. better skip Sky Stage complications so I can see more Up Up. =)

16:45~18:05 Smile Garden (Idol Summer Jamboree Acoustic with Akane, Kikka, Rurika and my fucking Nyansan, LovendoR)

corrected an inexcusable error from my previous schedule: not seeing all Up Up's performances. now I'll be able to do it. sorry Predia, but Nyansan is more important. Festival Stage is basically in front of Divercity and I'll see the ex-pla2me there. a win-win situation.

18:35~18:50 Divercity (Up Up Girls Kakkokari) and 19:00~19:15 Festival Stage (POP)

the next combo didn't change from my previous schedule. I most likely don't need this 35 minutes break for walking, but it can be used to get even more drunk. =D

19:50~20:35 My Navi Stage (Musubizm, You Kikkawa, Up Up Girls Kakkokari)

instead of going back to Divercity to see Lyrical School, better try to see other different groups I appreciate. I already saw them today in their oneman so I'm fulfilled. =) staying for a combo on Doll Factory may even allow me to see Afilia from close range. if I get lucky and the shows get a little delayed, I can even get to see RioRio before Akishibu!  :twothumbs

21:00~22:00 Doll Factory (Akishibu Project, Houkago Princess, Afilia Saga)

Doll Factory/Enjoy Staduim and Heat Garage are the only completely indoor ones. Everyone else is buggered if there are thunderstorms. Even if there aren't, beware of heatstroke and sunburn.

The forecast looks bothersome. The saturday could be okay though, as it seems to be only a short thunderstorm in the evening. This at least saves the Greeting Square from any troubles!
But it is still much to early to predict the weather now.

But just in case: What would the possible procedures be? Completely stop of shows? Or only the outside stages? Will the put it on hold just for the thunderstorm or the whole day?

Honestly so far the weather hasn't bothered me too much, I've walked around a lot and it takes me 5 mins to adjust from the cool air inside to the outside temperature.

Also I blame tsutomo for the weather, he was the one that wished it would rain so it would be canceled ;)

given past procedures, they'll announce each show has been cancelled by bad weather like five minutes before it should be starting, getting in surprise both the fans already in line and the idols involved. professionalism.  ;)

their fanbase is slowly increasing and in this oneman I saw a lot of people who are not "your average wota" type, which is kinda nice I guess... thanks to their sound they are appealing to a wider audience but don`t get carried away thinking they are a "hit" nowadays. for example, Divercity had a little more than half their capacity filled in this show, I`d estimate something around 1600 people or less. they are still a pretty underground act, a tier below acts like Passpo or Cheeky Parade.

It seems like booking venues slightly bigger than necessary happened to lyrical school and PASSPO on Saturday because neither was sold out? Sold out sounds impressive but, when the first floor is all standing, I can just imagine how hot and sweaty it would be.

At least, it sounds like neither was as bad as when Babyraids went to the Budokan last December. I think it was barely half-full.

Definitely see a lot of hip-hop types in the crowd for lyrical school. Maybe even more now since Rhymeberry kind of fell apart (again)?  Diver City holds about 2,500 or so, which would be pretty good if they had filled it.

Lyrical School did a one-man at Diver City??? WTF.

On DVD the Babyraids at Budokan didn't look so empty, maybe they did a good job at covering it up.

I think the most ridiculous is going to be Kamen Joshi at SSA

Honestly I do not like if it gets too packed, I liked how it was at PASSPO/Platinum Sonic there was space to move to another place and whatnot. I saw Muto Ayami on Sunday in a small club and it was packed didn't like that much at least in the back there should be a little room for old people like me.

I think it has more reasoning on the fact these groups are now on that phase where they NEED to aim at bigger venues since they`ve been around for a while already and don`t wanna make the girls and the fans demotivated for the group being "stuck". if it`s a common show, okay. but when it comes to a special one-man (like in Lyrical`s case, the ending of their national tour and recording of a dvd to be sold soon), they book venues each time larger than before to act big. actually a lot of groups (not only Passpo or Lyrical) do this and the already mentioned Kamen Joshi is another example. but they decided to jump some stages and go straight to SSA. rofl it will be ridiculous. I can`t see it having a third of the seats occupied even if they handle the tickets for free.

A bunch of underground/indies idols and free entry. Sounds risky.

Had Chu-Z ever been to Tokyo Idol Festival? If not, maybe it's because Maia was in Idoling!!! (and Vanilla Beans) and "graduated"?

That's true that you want room to stretch but sometimes it's too much. I think PASSPO would have been okay if it was at someplace slightly smaller like Akasaka Blitz. Kamen Joshi at SSA will be the end of the group! CD sales don't equal tickets sold because no matter how many someone buys they can only be in one seat at a time. I still need to see the Babyraids Budokan DVD. For comparison's sake, Silent Siren's Budokan concert a month later was sold out. But in most cases, the "capacity" of a place like that is if all the seats are filled and with most concerts, at least part of them are blocked off for the stage unless it's E-girls with the stage in the middle of the Budokan.

this is a REAL idol festival!  :twothumbs some very nice names there, like Feam, Re-2, Hyakka Ryouran, Station, +tic color, Meguriai, Namida... RioRio will appear in both festivals, because she is da boss.  :pimp:

too bad that I planned my schedule in a way where I most likely won`t be able to go there. or even in Greeting Area, though saving some money is always a good thing.  :nervous

Looks like POP is done for the weekend. Their live and all other events were cancelled for Sunday. Seeing as the last place they performed was the Festival Stage (in front of Gundam), I'm gonna blame it on people being dumb. That's probably the worst stage because it's free and the people running it seem to be stricter than other stages (no jumping at all allowed).

Yurumerumo had their Festival Stage appearance stopped until the troublemaker admitted to doing something dangerous and left the area.

Some idiot Houkago Princess fans were shoving each other while lifted too but, aside from that, I didn't notice too much jackass behavior.

both POP and BiSH got expelled from the festival thanks to the bad behavior of their (mostly former BiS) fans. the 'trash wotas' strike again.

no surprise for those that were there. I saw POP at Festival Stage and some guys were going crazy with moshing, lifting, diving, taking their clothes off... at the time I thought "wow! this was all said to be against the rules but the staffs are doing nothing...". well, appears they decided to take a bigger and more drastic action.  :sweatdrop: poor girls but the 'trash wotas' deserve it.

I`m actually surprised this level of bad behavior only went on during these two groups (otherwise there would be more groups expelled, I guess). like Passcode went safe from the 'trash wotas' actions? that`s a miracle! rofl

------------------------------------
on youtube there`s already SKE48 performance at Divercity
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AsCckFJTxLs

and Drop at Doll Factory (in two parts)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TT8InEmSH-s

-------------------------------------
I won`t be able to go in the second day, so my views on the festival will be kinda limited... eitherway, judging from the first day: the organization finally improved in several areas, but still far from ideal. specially regarding Main Stage and Sky Stage entrance/humongous lanes. the wristband exchange was very confusing early in the day. even the fucking staffs didn`t know the purpose of each lane. still no maps/info signs in the area, but at least they placed a bigger number of food and drink stalls. bag checking and metal detection on the entrance of Divercity was purely for aesthetic purposes. pretty sure the detector was off, cuz I had a lot of metal parts with myself. I entered with a fucking glass bottle of vodka there, which wasn`t allowed according the rules.  :P

maybe it`s just my (wrong) impression, but apparently they had more staffs this year. and on the other hand, a smaller audience. though I admit that, with one more stage, it`s possible that the audience was in fact bigger but they were more spread around the area. I appreciated the "special" stages with girls from different groups singing together (previously it was basically always Idolling + someone) and the various collaborations between groups and food stalls. Idol College even had a campaign with the Lawson kombini. those were really nice and different to see, worth the train passage to go down there in Odaiba.

For a first time non Japanese visitor my impression is a bit mixed, first of all they are trying to push for more foreigners to visit they might consider more signs with English text and more than one of the staff that could understand English (I know most probably volunteers).

Also the stage names makes no sense, like the Festival Stage is not referred to as such ANYWHERE, most other stages have no signs either and you can only tell when you are already inside the venue like Heat Garage.

Unfortunately most of my plans the first day involved the outdoor stages and while it wasn't hotter than usual the sun was out and standing still in front of a stage with no shade available was horrible In fact during Muto Ayami I actually started to feel dizzy and had to leave to find some shade and sit down for a while but luckily I was ok after 10 mins.

Anyways now that I know where everything is I'm sure my second day will be much more enjoyable :)

EDIT: Just to clarify I DID have a good time despite my criticism.

Saw and read how bad it was after posting. People were moshing pretty crazy to Tsubasa FLY at Festival Stage and throwing fake money into the air but I guess that wasn't as bad as BISH or POP. Not forgiving the trash wota but it did seem in some stages they were trying to encourage people to get excited but not actually do anything they would normally do. I guess since I'll have more time (didn't see either on Saturday) today, I'll maybe watch someone I've never seen before?

Regarding the Budokan issue: I saw both Dempagumi and Babyraids on DVD, and if I didn't know better I would have said, both were sold out. So maybe really great camera work with Babyraids.

It is too bad with POP and BiSH. Just because of stupid fans. But QwiksXnd told me that PassCode should have met the same repercussion and I can tell that Tsubasa Fly and Bellring Girls Heart pretty much had the same fan behaviour. Btw the Smile Garden performances for PASSPO and Up Up Girls involved also stupid fans, throwing pen lights and water. Not as bad as last year though (still kept my glasses, lol).
For TIF itself? Why signs? They had a map on their website and it is not that difficult. The organisation improved a lot, much more staff, wristband exchange was easy, and yes, many food stalls and better planning with Greeting Area. Still they should put more shadow roofs on the site. Sky Stage I managed to go. As it was for the first show in the morning, the only issue was waiting in the line for 2 hours, until the entrance opens.
More thoughts later, my flight starts soon.

I left early on the last day since I didn't feel that well. Aside from Passpo at 19'ish there really wasn't anything that I really wanted to see, so I left after Muto Ayami at around 16:00, when I got back to my hotel I felt worse and eventually my throat started hurt, I was cold but sweating despite the AC and had muscle pain, guess flu-like symptoms. QwiksXnd had told me about that as a possibility so I had been taking a lot of vitamin C but it seems like it didn't help, anyways it doesn't bother me too much since it's at the end of my trip so I'm not going to miss anything.

Overall I would say it was a great trip, it was nice to meet wattstax and learn how getting in to a concert worked (drink tickets, getting in line, numbers and such).

TIF wasn't really that great I must say I like the small clubs much more, the first concert I went to I would have to say was the highlight of my trip - it was a weird and wonderful lineup.

I plan on going again in late Oct./early Nov. depending on what concerts are announced :p

What would you estimate to be the female percentage in the audience?

10%, 20%, 30%?
Title: Re: The Tokyo Idol Festival 2015 Thread
Post by: Rezar on August 03, 2015, 10:51:06 AM
I didn't really pay that much attention, maybe like 10-15% a bit more than I've seen at normal concerts, probably because there were families with kids and such there as well.
Title: Re: The Tokyo Idol Festival 2015 Thread

TIF is a bad event for girls imo. The venues aren't set up to accommodate them and the rotations between group performances can get tedious depending upon how congested the stage is (and which fanbases are leaving and arriving). I was actually looking at the queues since I was stuck in a few and would guess attendance was 5-10% girls, definitely less than the typical idol concert I'd attend. I would assume TIF has a bad reputation with girl idol fans.

IDOL NATION was a perfect venue for all fans though and was 10, 20, dare I say 50 millions times funner than TIF. There weren't many people in attendance, but it was just fun as hell. Of course it helped that my favorite groups were performing and I had practically an entire row near the front to myself to jump around like an insane person :P

About Passcode, I think they should have been kicked the eff out. It was total BS to schedule them at Zepp right before GEM, Doll Elements, Prizzmy, and predia. Whoever made that scheduling was clearly trolling. I've seen passcode at two idol koushiens and they were behaving much worse at TIF. I think it was because passcode was performing at the biggest stage during a prime timeslot. If there was another TIF, I doubt they get invited back--assuming they still exist. Yeah, I'm bitter about that group atm XD

And the old man at the Festival Stage runs a tight ship lmao. He lectured GEM fans last year and we were hardly doing anything

Rezar, sorry to hear about that. My first time in Japan I caught some crazy virus and was sick for 3 weeks upon returning home. Since I never get sick I kept assuming it would just go away, but it never did. I finally went to the doctor, got antibiotics and was cured within 2 days--so don't hesitate seeing a doctor if it lingers. And sorry we weren't able to meet. I actually only randomly ran into tsutomo and wattstax, although I hung out with wattstax a few days before TIF. Also didn't see a few other overseas fans I wanted to say hi to.

bag checking and metal detection on the entrance of Divercity was purely for aesthetic purposes. pretty sure the detector was off, cuz I had a lot of metal parts with myself.
This . My belt buckle would make a metal detector explode and the guy just gives me a thumbs up without checking anything XD

you pretty much said the same thing I always say: TIF is fun, it has some "glamor" and all but there are other idol festivals out there A LOT better than TIF. since at TIF one can see some shows without ticket, I could see the appeal TIF has over first-timers, but to everyone else... I maintain my opinion that @Jam Expo (at the end of this month) is the best big idol festival out there, much more well organized and friendlier to the audience.

regarding the trash wotas problem, if they make another edition next year, I'll be very surprised to see one of these groups with bad reputation (deserved though) invited again. unless they are really desperate to have the most groups and idol fans possible. it's not like this started yesterday, they should be well aware of the implications that inviting these groups cause. one solution could be designating one stage only for these infamous groups, so their trash fans don't mess with other shows and stages.

Not really sure what I have it might be the same thing wattstax got earlier than me, mainly sore throat so I basically can't speak - the muscle pain and cold-sweat was only the first day, also one of my ears didn't pop during my flights decent probably because I had hard time swallowing (because of the throat), hope it magically happens one of the next couple of days.

I think you and tsutomo are right about TIF and I'm kinda glad I didn't go just for that - every other thing during my trip was awesome though, unless there are some other awesome concerts around the same time as TIF I'll probably not go next year and I'll try one of the other big festivals instead.

I am completely ill, totally flu. The same like last year. I try to skip TIF next year. In exchange to something different. Not sure about @JAM though. It is only one day, but featuring at least the same amount of groups I like to see. Therefore I would probably be stuck with events the whole time, missing out on all the shows.

But something confuses me: You write about security checks at Zepp. I never had any there. I only experienced those for the Greeting area and those were lame (which is a good thing as it means fast). I doubt the metal detectors were even working.

I'm fairly sure it isn't the flu, it's not season for it and it's unlikely to catch it out of season since the virus just isn't there.

But on the other hand it definitely didn't feel like a normal cold to me on the first day.

I thought it would be because of AKB affiliates. That their management really is that stupid and paranoid. Luckily I don't care about them.
But agree with the dying part. I was already dead when waiting for PiiiiiiiN on Sky Stage for 2,5 hours. No shadows anywhere.

Question: I skipped Hot Stage this time. So how was it this year? Did they improve the stage and circumstances around it in any way?

TIF still has that flair to me. It is a complete different atmosphere than during the usual everyday live idol shows that happen several times a week. If only it weren't for the heat. This time I har the impression it was even worse than last time.

Is there going to be an @JAM EXPO thread?

If the locations of most of the stages are the same, I'm going to say that Pineapple is the Sky Stage of @JAM. At least they moved Kiwi from the 1st floor to the 4th. Last year it was the size of a meeting room. At least, I'm less interested in HKFC, and all their sister groups this year? I like them but, they don't do MCs and just walk off stage when they're done.

I might go against convention and skip the groups I usually see in favor for ones I have never seen before. Too bad GALETTe isn't on since I wanted to see the new 5-member formation.
Title: Re: The Tokyo Idol Festival 2015 Thread

I`m too lazy to make a thread just for the event, so I`ve been talking about the @Jam here. feel free to do the same.  :twothumbs in fact, there`s no problem to talk about other idol festivals here. remember the TIF thread in 2ch? they use it to talk about pretty much every other festivals that happen during the year while waiting for the next edition (and corresponding thread).

yeah Pineapple is pretty much the Sky Stage comparable. that`s why my plans don`t include a single performance there. not worth the time lost in the entrance lane.

I had nothing against Kiwi in the first floor. Kiwi imo is way worse now, since the fourth floor is more distant from the others.

my rough plans for the day are:

10.00 Orange Stage (Hyakka Ryouran - Choco MilQ)
10.30 Grape Stage (Mai Kotone)
10.45 Blueberry Stage (Mirai Skirt)
11.00 Orange Stage (Stand-up Hearts - Ryutist)
11.40 Strawberry Stage (Hime Kyun Fruit Can)
12.00 Peach Stage (S Spicy)
12.15 Orange Stage (Fruitpochette - Rinne Yoshida)
12.45 Peach Stage (You Kikkawa)
13.05 Kiwi Stage (Ryutist)
13.30 Grape Stage (Yamaguchi Kassei Gakuen)
13.45 Peach Stage (Houkago Princess - Faint Star)
14.15 Strawberry Stage (Afilia Saga)
14.45 Orange Stage (PassCode)
15.00 Grape Stage (Koto)
15.20 Blueberry Stage (Lyrical School)
15.45 Kiwi Stage (Denpa Gumi.inc)
16.10 Blueberry Stage (Dianna Sweet - Up Up Girls Kakkokari)
17.00 Orange Stage (Tsuki to Taiyou - Jyujyu - Pop - Predia)
18.00 Peach Stage (Nananon - Alice in Alice)
18.40 Strawberry Stage (Up Up Girls Kakkokari)
19.00 Grape Stage (Tokyo Cheer2 Party - Idol College)
19.30 Strawberry Stage (festival ending)

probably I won`t be able to see every one of these, thanks to delays... but seeing the majority will be nice. specially the ones I couldn`t see at TIF (like Lyrical, Mainya, Predia, Nananon, Idol College...), some new groups to my list (like Alice in Alice, Mirai Skirt, S Spicy...) and my fucking Nyansan S2. of course, Ryutist and Hime Kyun fucking Fruit Can are priorities, since they weren`t at TIF and I don`t see them for months already.  :twothumbs

and yeah, I took some risks putting some groups well known for their trash wotas in my list, but... if things get too unbearable I can always take a 30 seconds walk and see other group in a near stage.  :)

the only complaint is not being able to see Passpo Whoop!e Whoop!e.  damned time table. sucks that this year they have so many groups that some won`t be able to perform two times meaning if you lost them once... there`s no another chance. for this reason I won`t see Whoop!e Whoop!e or FYT. won`t see Chu-Z neither, but that`s not a so big absence in my books.

ps: isn`t it curious that the two groups I used to like and don`t care so much anymore are exactly the ones that you, wattstax, like more nowadays?  guess I have a bias against the groups you like. =P

Please share your thoughts about GALETTe, when you had the chance to see them. Would be interested to hear how Akari firs in there.

ps: isn`t it curious that the two groups I used to like and don`t care so much anymore are exactly the ones that you, wattstax, like more nowadays?  guess I have a bias against the groups you like. =P
Noticed it too ;) The more curious thing is that both groups, PASSPO and Chu-Z were once amongst your faves. Seems I am more faithful  8) Nah, we just put different values in our fandom.
But don't worry about me: The feeling is mutual. I can not see any value in most of the groups you support now as well :P For example I saw You Kikkawa on my last trip and after listening to her for a while I decided to cash-in my drink ticket. Better use of time!

On the topic: @JAM seems to be more about the lives than the events. Obviously not a festival for me then. I need my breaks - and acknoledgement by idols through direct contact
Title: Re: The Tokyo Idol Festival 2015 Thread

You Kikkawa is great, one of the best solo idols out there. her recent songs have been quite nice too and her fanbase is passionate. though she is close to Up Up so of course I favor her a little bit more than I should. =P

@Jam has two areas for events. and the girls walk through the corridors between fans to go from a stage to another too. so there's plenty of interaction there. you can't get more "direct contact" than seeing them perform in little (almost improvised) stages where the girls stand just centimeters from your face.  :w00t:
Title: Re: The Tokyo Idol Festival 2015 Thread

The bit where the idols are just walking through the arena is one of the great things about @JAM instead of all the secrecy of TIF.

@wattstax Once I see GALETTe perform with the new lineup, I'll let you know but, I only have eyes for Nonoka. Hopefully, they do some release events or a live with some other groups soon.

I get how one can tire of PASSPO or Chu-Z though. For me, once I've seen a group enough times to where it feels like they're pretty consistent, I almost feel like I don't NEED to see them every chance that I can. I feel the same about most of the iDOL Street groups and THE Possible, which turned out to be a big mistake since Akkyan graduated right after TIF. As long as Upga does "Chopper", I can't not want to see them though.

POP and BiSH should be interesting since BiSH added the new members and put out that crazy pirate metal song and Saki got put on hiatus right after the release events/one man were over with no definite return date set.
Title: Re: The Tokyo Idol Festival 2015 Thread
Post by: wattstax on August 16, 2015, 11:35:53 AM
You don't NEED to seem them more often, as you have the (theoretical) opportunities to see them nearly everytime. For me it is only during my holidays there.  ;)
It would probably be different for me, if I would live in Japan. Already I feel bored, if I see one group too many times in a row, if the setlist is basically the same everytime. What keeps me motivated in these cases is the 'relation' to the members.

What happened to POP? Saki is not in the group? :shocked I saw them during a small festival and really like their performance!
Title: Re: The Tokyo Idol Festival 2015 Thread

From what I heard, Saki did something to piss off Watanabe (former manager of BiS, current manager of POP/BiSH and co-producer of BILLE IDLE). I didn't see them at TIF or at all since they were still Pla2me (last day of release events for UNIT back in January) but, the terms that are officially being used is "indefinite hiatus" (無期限活動休止) and "repeated violation of prohibited acts" (度重なる禁止事項に抵触した). I haven't seen any pictures or video proof, especially since TIF was so strict about people filming or taking pictures everywhere except Smile Garden (where they did not perform this year) but, I heard she dove into the crowd.

Saki said she's definitely coming back but then again, Sakoti (on indefinite hiatus of PASSPO) is "helping" 3min. kind of a lot lately.

Anyway, the great thing about big events like this is there should be something for everyone as far as idols go. I should make my schedule too.

instead of all the secrecy of TIF.

huh? you can (or at least could some years ago) pass by the idols moving from one stage to another at TIF too. I remember my interactions with Afilia and Up Up in the past, while seating or walking in the Smile Garden area. this year I bumped with Izukoneko, though I dunno if this one can be considered since she wasn`t performing there, just appearing in some kind of talk show.

I don`t really get "tired" from groups for seeing them too much, the appropriate term would be "lose interest". Chu-Z was never one of my top 5 groups, so it`s easy to drop them specially when other groups are releasing more interesting singles. but with Passpo... blame my apathy with the group on the graduations/hiatus, their shitty surprise (puchi passpo) and on Nachu being crappy on the handshakes.

I guess I meant that with @JAM being in one area compared to TIF where it's so spread out, the chances of having idols walk right next to you are way higher. Smile Garden is definitely where you can look over and see idols watching the same group you are since they arrive and leave from the Fuji TV building next to it. There were people standing outside waiting for them as they would come and go (like every year). I forget who it was but, some group commented about how it seemed like some fans would just stand there all day since they would see them a lot.

For Chu-Z, I liked "Girls on the Run" and "Bombastic" (even though it looked a lot like UUGs' "Uppercut" to me) as well as "Hana no Arch" and "Brand Boy" but, even with Tsunku, "Tell Me Why" was kind of a let down or maybe expectations were too much? With the loss of Makochan and Sakoti within the past 6 months, PASSPO does seem shaky but compared to all the graduations in other groups this year, it's not that bad? Blame Nachu!

If you want to get in contact with idols during TIF without paying for it, just go to Market Square. Met a lot there either distributing flyers or selling stuff personally. If your fan of Arc Jewel Girls, like me, this is the perfect place. There were lots of others, but no one I care much about.
I only walked by 2 members of Predia outside. Otherwise the idols there were unknown to me.

Chu-Z have too many different styles in my opinion. I love their sound in Bombastic/Brand Boy, but like you I am disappointed with Tell me why. At least it gave them a high position in Oricon.
PASSPO's graduations didn't bother me by the members involved, but that the one of Sacotee happened so fast after Makochan's and was rather unexpected. I am curious if it will just be a hiatus.
If you define your Passpo fandom by prefering Nachu, you will have a hard time. I get that. Her behaviour is difficult, especially when compared to Morishi or Yukki. As I am not Nachu's major fan, I can live with it and even had some fun with her, as this time she was the member I had the most direct interaction with.

ah okay, I get now what you meant. from the groups I like the only one that experienced a more devastating effect by members losses recently is Afilia Saga. no wonder why they`ve fallen a lot in my interests too.

next tuesday and wednesday (holiday in Japan), in Yamanashi-ken (close to the famous Mt. Fuji), the producers behind the Twinbox live house (at Akihabara) will be realizing a new big idol festival. called Twinbox Fujisan 2015, it will feature 147 groups (they may announce more in these next few days)! just a few less than TIF (154) this year. and a serious competitor arises.  :D

I hope this turns out a success and they realize another one next year. if so, I`m definitely going to this one instead of TIF in 2016. just look how awesome the line-up of this festival is and you`ll understand my reasons.

Sounds great and all. I like it being NOT in the summer. Though chances for rain are high.
But don't praise it before you are there. Organisation needs to be good as well. Any idea how the festival will be handled? Indoors/Outdoors? How many stages? How to get there? ...

But a look at the line up doesn't show a lot of "popular" groups. Hmm... :huhuh

I didn't see a link so here it is.

Looks like a pretty promising lineup for people who like more underground/indies groups.

it is completely outdoors, so yeah rains can cause some trouble there. for now it`s not going to rain, according to the weather reports I saw yesterday. it will happen in a famous park area almost on the foot of Mt. Fuji, with a very nice view of the mountain and lake surrounding it. there is a big amphitheater there and I expect them to build at least half dozen smaller stages... let`s wait for the timetable and further reports.

they`ll have Up Up, Idol College and Kamen Joshi, so it`s not like they don`t have any famous there, though the focus is clearly on the underground side. which I find great and think TIF should do the same, instead of calling HKT, Silent Siren and the likes.

Timetable for TwinBox Fujisan is now out:

Although they will only post buppan timetable tomorrow....

I'm gonna go through it and mark what I'm going to... looks like my fave groups have a couple slots a day, which is nice :)

The only thing about this festival is it's a long way to get to, lol.

Oh, and a few of the "i'd like to check them out at a festival" groups will be at Idol Koushien on the 22nd instead.

On the contrary TIF should focus on more established acts in my opinion. I am not interested in the big names but I acknoledge their importance for such an event. TIF has a lot of unknown groups, but I fail to see the value in most of them as well as the decision criterias, that added them to the line-up.
This Twinbox Fujisan Fes can then be seen complementary to TIF, with its  focus on underground groups.
In my case there are at least some groups I know and like and experiencing unknown groups isn't that bad of an activity. So this could lead to new groups to follow, hence more money to spend. Danger!
It is a bit of a pity to only see 5 stages and therefore very short sets of the individual groups. Even Main Stage performances aren't that long. But as it is two days, it should be fine.

That Koushien doesn't look to bad. No doubt I would choose that over Fujisan.

We should open a 'Festival of all kind' thread here.

We could subtitle it the "DDD (DD Dilemma) thread" or aomething? Idol Koushiens happen pretty often too so it might be nice to let ppl know about all the events other than TIF and @JAM EXPO.

Problem I have with most big events is that a bunch of groups I want to see will be all scheduled at the same time and other times there will be no one I want to see.
