The group's name is an acronym with each word representing a member. The acronym is Brillant (Takatsuki) Ultra (Miyatake Matsuri) Miracle (Matsuyama) Power (Sakuraba) Youthful (Miyatake Mio). The purpose of the group is to be "actress-singer" as they are idols who act and sing. bumpy. made their debut in 2009 with the TBS net dorama bump.y and then with a cover album entitled Sweet Hits☆.

I just love how in the Futari no Hoshi PV Sara just doesn't want to be there half the time, and then next time it cuts back to her, she remembers she needs to smile xD Her solo line is awesome too, hello favourite ;D

I just found them by some random link of Tokyo Girls' Style! I don't know ANYTHING about them other than that first video was a bit strange. I think i will watch a few more videos before I make a call if I like them or not.
Edit: I agree with you Dai, what a weird ass group :shocked ... Maybe they will get better with time. They do seem to be calm and more collected in this live performance:

I watched some of thier videos, read some info. and listened to the two singles that are out. I gave them a chance but, they just didn’t grab my attention the way Tokyo Girls’ Style did this past spring. I do wish them lots of luck.

I've been researching them ever since I discovered Sara (..yowza. :heart: I am not known to use the phrase 'delicious loli', but, uh... hello), and.. I dunno how I feel? The girls are dolls, they're all so cute and I really think I could grow to like them, but they seem really.. stiff and scared. The music doesn't help much, either- their singles have been slow and kinda old-fashioned so far, and it doesn't seem like they're having a lot of fun. The PV for Futari no Hoshi in particular is so formulaic that it's almost a little too blatant. I think somewhere between little eleven-year-old Matsuri laying in a pile of stuffed animals looking timidly up at me and Minami pouting at me with tears in her eyes that I started to just... chuckle a little. I know they exist to sell themselves, but c'mon, don't insult me. Somebody please, please let these darling little girls have a fun, upbeat single, cause I do think they're a great group and I'd love to actually learn about their personalities.

my first post in this thread to say that:
1- their cover of "gotta getcha" is badass.
2- nanami is too beautiful to be true.
3- I hate my friends for making me lose their 3rd anniversary concert in order to see AKB's dome tour.
4- the group is quickly growing up on me, if they had more fanservice (like 2 shots) I would certainly be their wota already.
5- Limit is pretty interesting. I don't watch doramas at all, but that one seemed very catchy (and sad, story wise) to me.

bump.y to 'graduate' from their group activities

bump.y has announced that they will "graduate" from their group activities in late-June.
The girls will be "graduating" in order to devote themselves to their acting careers. They are scheduled to hold an event for members of their mobile site 'bump.y mobile' as their final activity as bump.y.
bump.y is a 5-member actress group comprised of Matsuyama Mary, Sakuraba Nanami, Miyatake Mio, Takatsuki Sara, and Miyatake Matsuri. They formed in 2009, then made their major debut in August of 2010 with the single "voice".
