AEG LIVE, SM ENTERTAINMENT, and POWERHOUSE are proud to present the SMTOWN LIVE ’10 WORLD TOUR in Los Angeles at the world-famous STAPLES Center on Saturday, September 4th at 7:00 PM.
This concert is a part of SM Entertainment’s world tour project which will begin in Seoul, then continue to LA, Tokyo, Shanghai, and other major Asian cities. It is the first time that AEG LIVE, one of the largest concert promoters in the world, is hosting an Asian concert at STAPLES Center.
The SMTOWN LIVE ’10 WORLD TOUR will go beyond Asia and take place globally as a grand music festival featuring top-notched artists from SM Entertainment, one of the largest artist management agencies not just in Korea but in Asia overall.
The artist lineup for the Los Angeles concert is KANGTA, BoA, U KNOW, MAX, SUPER JUNIOR, GIRLS’ GENERATION, SHINee, f(x), Zhang Li Yin, Trax and other SM artists.

Got a couple of options for getting tickets and I'm looking into all of them and contacts or whatever. I'm planning to drive down 5 hours to get them in person though.

^Thing I'm worried about if we get a million seats together for group buy is how good the seats will be. I need to make sure it doesn't push us back by much, if it does. Unlike SSF we has a lot less people, and we may be able to just have me and Fen get max tickets or something. Again, we'll see, I'm gonna make a few calls first to make sure.

I'm ready to camp out overnight in line if I have to. Fen said she'll be willing to wait in line for a few hours, but I'm also gonna see if I can get T-back to wait with me, 90% sure he will. Odango, I can grab your ticket for you. If 8 is too high of a number to get good seats, I'll see how we can split it. This is why I want to try to be first in line no matter what, so I can get all 8 tickets together, and if T-back is with me, then make that 16. I'm more inclined to fight for these tickets because I'm not only buying for myself!

Wow, sucks that the floor sections are the same price as the 8 sections immediately surrounding the stage area. I hope we all get floor. I'm gonna assume that the people at Soshified will go with the group purchase/discount but will probably be tied up with the wait at the phone line...unless they immediately purchase a whole floor section or two :(

Ok, so IDK if anyone's talked about hotels, but I'm following someone on twitter about the hotels and she mentioned something about Sheraton possibly having a group discount. I told her that I'd report here whatever it is that I find out from her, so expect some news shortly. The floor section is seated.
Digital point & shoot cameras are fine. DSLRs are not. I think Powerhouse stated no cameras with detachable lenses or a lens of more than 3 inchs.

Although I camped out at the Staples Center, some pretty asinine things prevented me from buying tickets at their box office. BUT, luckily, we had a group of 5 dedicated fans that managed to call in and secure 6 floor seats, and 15 other seats. Not sure how we managed to pull that off. Hope to see all of you there!

So as you may have all read, heard, seen over the internets, there were no floor seats available for sale through the Staples box office and Ticketmaster. They were apparently being sold through Powerhouse only.
Unfortunately, we ended up having to buy seats separately due to this chaotic mess. We are still working out the kinks of how to divide up the tickets among the members who paid and options available to us.
I know you guys are anxious and all and it's a lot to bear but if you guys could just hold on a little longer, we will put up a more detailed post of all things.

I want everyone who was in this group buy to understand something before making a reply.
Dinny payed a lot of money to fly down to LA and wait out the entire night in the freezing cold to get tickets. The outcome may not be what we'd all hoped for but she, t-back and fen did their absolute best to get what they could.
Situations like this are frustrating for everyone, so if you are thinking of replying with something that might possibly upset the people involved in organising these tickets then please think again. Trust me they understand completely how you feel and right now they don't need to hear any crap like, how bad your day was and now this. So pleeease understand and be patient.

I don't have internet at the moment so I'm posting this from my phone.
Just wanted so say I tried my best in securing floor seats for us, calling Staples Center and Powerhouse a day before to make sure I had a chance for those seats. I booked a $313 flight down to LA. Paid $45 to send my engineer back to his hotel after my meeting because I had no time to take him, then rush off to the airport.
T-back picked me up from the airport and we drove directly to the Staples Center to check the line. When we got there at about 8:30pm, there was about 16-20 people already camped out across the street, the first few where there since Thursday. Skipping dinner we settled down in line, busted out a sleeping bag and a chair.
It got really cold at night and T kindly offered me an extra jacket, but it was still fucking freezing. Anyways, after waiting over 13 hours in line and having dumb bitches attempt to cut the entire line, Staples Center checked right before tickets went on sale and said there were no floor seats, throwing the entire line into panic. Accusations were made and I was told by someone Powerhouse had reserved seats for fanclubs, SSF and SJWorld, the night before. I believe now that that wasn't the case.
Powerhouse, those lying bastards who promised to have the best seats evenly distributed between TM, PH, and SC, made floor seats only available through calling PH. It was also stated by them before on twitter that TM, PH, and SC would be selling different seats/draws. Because of this I believed SC would be the best bet without having to compete with TM sales, and this was the reason why I flew down to LA. They lied about this as well. By the time the first person got to the window they were barely able to get a hold of $180 seats. Someone managed to get $180 seats, but in less than 2 minutes, only $40 seats were left for us who camped long hours.
Bottom line is, we got fucked and still tried to get whatever tickets that were left for all JPHiP members. Floor seats were available only through Powerhouse, who I tried calling while in line but couldn't get through, and grats to SSF who snagged all 280 seats, legit. (Yes?)
I will be refunding all members who paid. I am deeply sorry for the disappointment and will pay for the non-$180 we managed to get from salvaging online.
Also. I am no longer attending this event. I am withdrawing but will continue helping JPHiPsters who are attending. Thank you for fucking people over, Powerhouse. I put in too much to go home without a floor ticket in my hands. T, Fen, and another member who worked his ass off online deserve better. And being a passionate SNSD fan, from the bottom of my bleeding heart, FUCK YOU.

I'm gonna post some options now, fen might kill me for not waiting for Dinny but I think it's best to tell everyone now so they can decide what to do quickly.
Option 1: Dinny has $40 tickets for everybody on the list, these are in a group and if you want to take one just post and let them know. You don't have to take these tickets, however I suggest offering to buy at least one each out of courtesy because she did try her best to get them, they are worth more in heart and soul than any price tag. So please consider this.
Option 2: Dinny also has almost a dozen or so $80 tickets, some she bought herself and some that I bought online with her Tickemaster account. These are scattered around sections 209, 210, 206 just from memory most are single seats though. These are offered straight up to anyone at all how wants one, not just those on the list, just make a post and let us know. (there's no exact amount available at this point in time but there will be soon)
The story behind why we got these; Ticketmaster booking system is totally dodgy and random. Within the first 5min after 10am, the only tickets available to buy in groups more than 1 were $40 sections. This made us very worried that we'd not be able to get better seats so we just kept searching over and over online, we found that every now and then you could get one $80 single seat every 100 go's of trying. (that's what I spent the night doing anyway)
Come 12 hours later, I tried again and it seemed like entire $80 sections had been opened up to be able to buy from. *sigh* So I won't lie, right now you can go to Ticketmaster and buy 8x $80 tickets all in a group no problem at all. But we'll still be stuck with these ones so we haven't gone and done that.
Fenrir actually has 2x paired $80 seats, she will be offering one pair to differentstory12 because she already paid her money. The other pair is up to her but I think it will become available.
Option 3: Buy your own ticket. Don't feel guilty for choosing this option because there is actually better seats available now in groups up to 8 easily and possibly even better later on due to my theory that Ticketmaster is actually selling off the cheaper sections first and possibly making better sections available later. But please consider option 1 as well as this.
This all said, we're still waiting for someone to get through to Powerhouse to see if there's any good seats left. Honestly though I don't think they have anything left so don't rely on this at all.
Also that won't be till Monday and by then, you might find a good seats through Ticketmaster so I'd keep trying there.
These options may change as well but they're a rough idea to help you decide.

Guys don't forget the concert is only one part of this experience. Regardless of where you sit, you're gonna be mere meters away from your favourite
asses artists. There is so much more to it though. Its about bonding with all your jphip folk, and stalking the crap out of those K-idols you love so much. The concert will last a couple of hours, but the memories you make away from it, together, will last so much longer! Don't believe me? Check out all the epic stories from AX last year stalking MM, or KMF this year with hipsters got to see KARA in their pajamas in the same elevator as them. That beats any floor seat at a concert! Don't lose sight of the whole experience, the concert is just a part of the whole big picture.
Dinny, Fen, T-back & Dave love you guys for everything you've done, and you did everything you could!!! This is so far from your fault dinny, and we all know that and appreciate everything you've put into this. You gave your all, and I'm sure everyone would want to do all they can to thank you and the others. Don't lose sight of the bigger picture either. I have refunded all 11 people who paid me through Paypal. It'll take around 3-5 business days for it to go through. I do not want anyone to pay me unless I get $180 tickets, and I have yet to get through and rip Powerhouse a new one over the phone. Please be patient, I have not given up.
And if I see another complaint from a certain someone, with the letters C, K , and D in their username, especially about "nosebleed" seats or whatever, I swear I will slit my wrists and haunt them every night while they take their shit. I called Powerhouse and spoke to the same douche bag as last time, even though I asked for someone else.
He said:
1.) Ticketmaster and Staples Center had floor seats on sale.
2.) Ticketmaster and Staples Center shared the same system.
3.) Powerhouse is now completely sold out of tickets.
4.) It was my choice and my fault that I decided to go camp at Staples Center. A lot of other people didn't get $180/floor seats.
To counter all his points:
1.) Right before tickets went on sale at the Box Office, people were thrown into panic because someone asked if there was floor seats and they said there wasn't. We had them double check and yes, they confirmed there wasn't a single floor seat available even before 10AM. EVERYONE started making phone calls to their friends to get access to Ticketmaster. 2.) I called into Powerhouse before hand and they said tickets will be distributed as evenly as possible. And asked if it was possible to get floor seats if I go to buy at the Staples Center Box Office. He said yes. Also, before on PH's twitter it was stated that all of them will be selling different seats. Which is the sole reason why I decided to book my flight from SF to LA to camp. See screencap:

Again, people at the Box Office got screwed badly because we had to compete with internet sales on TicketMaster.
4.) So I told him what I did in order to get tickets. And that was his response to me, that it was my choice and my fault that I chose to go to buy tickets at the Staples Center, and that a lot of other people didn't get those tickets. I told him, "I am not speaking only speaking on my behalf, but everyone else who got screwed." And he still gave me the it's not just you speech.
So tell me this. Did EVERYONE ELSE pay to fly down personally to camp for tickets? I don't fucking think so. I hope for this to be known, especially to who ever runs or manages Powerhouse. This is what they consider fair. As long as the money is in their hands, all is right with the world.

I don't have internet at the moment so I'm posting this from my phone.
Just wanted so say I tried my best in securing floor seats for us, calling Staples Center and Powerhouse a day before to make sure I had a chance for those seats. I booked a $313 flight down to LA. Paid $45 to send my engineer back to his hotel after my meeting because I had no time to take him, then rush off to the airport.
T-back picked me up from the airport and we drove directly to the Staples Center to check the line. When we got there at about 8:30pm, there was about 16-20 people already camped out across the street, the first few where there since Thursday. Skipping dinner we settled down in line, busted out a sleeping bag and a chair.
It got really cold at night and T kindly offered me an extra jacket, but it was still fucking freezing. Anyways, after waiting over 13 hours in line and having dumb bitches attempt to cut the entire line, Staples Center checked right before tickets went on sale and said there were no floor seats, throwing the entire line into panic. Accusations were made and I was told by someone Powerhouse had reserved seats for fanclubs, SSF and SJWorld, the night before. I believe now that that wasn't the case.
Powerhouse, those lying bastards who promised to have the best seats evenly distributed between TM, PH, and SC, made floor seats only available through calling PH. It was also stated by them before on twitter that TM, PH, and SC would be selling different seats/draws. I was one of the people to go up to the box office before 10 AM, but I was there solely to confirm that the woman had no authority to name-check or anything. Despite that, she still had security escort me off the premises, and I was forced to get tickets by phone.
I do feel that more seats will show up, as I managed to secure tickets Saturday night. Not floor, but better than what I had originally gotten. Again, I commend your efforts, and if you do manage to go to the event, and like to meet up to personally congratulate you on your efforts.

I probably should admit though, I'm more pissed off at the one guy at Powerhouse than the company as a whole...and the whole bit of miscommunication, they probably don't deserve whatever I said about them. I even thanked Ellen for putting up with our shit even with the limited advice. Being nice and polite makes all the difference.
We'll see. I'm trying to get good seats, but I feel a bit guilty for taking floor if others are not able to join. =/

Semi-good move on their part if they do go that route. The Sheraton is a few blocks away, and would allow for some privacy, but it would mean that they would have to get the artists there by car, instead of having them, under close-watch, walk from the JW Marriot/Ritz Carlton to Staples Center, which is literally less than a 2-minute walk, less so if they go in the back way.

the best i can get are $80 seats no matter what quantity i try.
one of my friends was able to snag a $160 single seat saturday afternoon.

I also kept getting $120 seats several times while searching through ticketmaster but now I keep getting the 300 level seats over and over =/.
Some people were saying how on Saturday, ticketmaster started selling the 300 level seats as "best available" but as they kept searching and searching again, the best available turned to $160 and $180 seats. So alot of people got scared off that the "good" seats were taken and so they bought 300 level seats at the first couple of searches.
On soompi I read that Ticketmaster might do exchanges from the ticket you bought to a ticket with better seats if you find one available? Not sure about this, but I would have to call Ticketmaster tomorrow to see if that is true.

During the camp-out, my friend and I walked over to use the bathroom (we forgot about the Ritz Carlton and JW Marriot, and we wanted some IHOP), and it wasn't more than half-a-mile away, so at most, it's about 10 minutes walking from the Staples Center. Really nice place, and it's connected to a shopping center/parking structure, and has it's own little bar, for those of you over 21+.

I got through to Powerhouse within 30 minutes, she said they only have 111 and 112. I asked if they're waiting for those to sell out and she answered she doesn't know if there's anymore sections. I asked where the tickets came from and she said some they got from Staples Center and some were stuff on hold for production release. Anyways, I'm content and will settle with what we have now. Don't think there much more we can do, only seats better would be up front and along the catwalk of Floor 1 and 2, and I'm pretty sure those are gone.

BoA, SNSD, and Super Junior, along with other singers under SM Entertainment, will be performing 80 songs over the course of 6 hours for fans.
SM Town Live ‘10 World Tour will take place in Seoul, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Shanghai, and other Asian cities. The first concert will be held in Seoul on the 21st from 4 PM. Some of the SM artists that will participate at this concert are KangTa, BoA, DBSK’s Yunho and Changmin, Super Junior, SNSD, SHINee, f(x), and Trax. The list of artists alone has been garnering much interest. A concert with so many talented artists in one place is not common. It seems as if it will be just as good, if not better, than any other worldwide concert.
Along with the artists and groups’ own stages, there will be a handful performed together. DBSK members Yunho and Changmin will perform together, and BoA will work with SHINee’s Key for the first time as well. Super Junior’s Kyuhyun and SNSD’s Seohyun will perform a duet, as well as siblings, SNSD’s Jessica and f(x)’s Krystal.
SM Entertainments actors, Kim MinJong and Ara, will also spend some time on-stage.

Yeah. Right now, the only way to get in is if you win the YesAsia/YesStyle contest, and yes, it's going to be at the Conga Room. However, they did state for the tickets that "The artists will only be making a brief appearance", and since it's a club, they probably won't let the under-21 performers go at all.

They still have quite a few $180 seats, and most of them are pretty damn good. Not Floor Seats, mind you, but that's a given. You can only score those if you get lucky on TM, or if you go on Facebook.

What's important to me is to know where all the hispters will go, but yeah sure, the koreaboo thing looks pretty cool, why don't we all head over there? Get some JPH!P reppin done. Also, I think it will be fun since it'll be plenty of people from many different forum. Always nice to socialize with others and see if their girls are hotter than ours (which I really doubt since we're famous for our good looking women).

The good thing about the koreaboo meetup is that it's at the convention center, so you don't have to worry about being on time to the concert. Anyways, I wouldn't mind going there. What's important to me is to know where all the hipsters will go, but yeah sure, the koreaboo thing looks pretty cool, why don't we all head over there? Get some JPH!P reppin done. Also, I think it will be fun since it'll be plenty of people from many different forum. Always nice to socialize with others and see if their girls are hotter than ours (which I really doubt since we're famous for our good looking women).

Off the hook for going into my Friday meeting, but I'll have to disappear for a bit and do a conference call at 2PM instead. This means I'll be driving down to LA on Wednesday/Thursday so I don't have to miss out on all the fun like at KMF. Booked a back up room at the JW Marriott 2-6, depending on what happens, I may or may not cancel the reservation.
Looks like I'll have 2 friends flying in on Friday and they will need somewhere to stay. Not sure if I'll have room, so I might need to see if they can crash in a room with less than 4 people for 2 nights. They'll chip in, so no worries.

It'll be crazy, but so long as I don't run into any Anti-fans(Damn you, Evil Black Sea :angry:), I don't mind being around a bunch of fans of the event. And yep, they said they'd have quite a few booths for the swag. Probably going to have to wait in line, but oh well.

“That’s right, SM Town LA attendees, there will be an official SM Town After Party immediately following the show! The After Party, sponsored by Kollaboration, Yes Style, and SM Entertainment, will take place at the Conga Room, right across the street from the Staples Center, at LA Live!
The party kicks off at 10:30PM and is for attendees 21 years old and over! Ticket prices are $55 for general admission and $95 for VIP (VIP tickets include food). All performing artists have been invited to the After Party, however, it is unknown at this time which artists are confirmed to attend. The artists will have their own special area to hang out in at the party. It will be a regular “After Party/Club” setting with a DJ and no performances are scheduled. Tickets will go on sale on Sunday at 11AM PST on the Kollaboration website.
So, they are going to sell tickets after all. However, it looks like mingling with the artists(if they show up), is out of the question, since they have their own special area, and for good reason.
By big thing is...10:30? That's before the concert is supposed to end. Do you think this is a screw up on the promoters part? Does it mean the concert will be even shorter? Or do you think it means that some of the artists who choose to go won't be staying for the concert finale, and heading over?

Just FYI to those that are going to be at LAX tomorrow keep your eyes out because Brian(FTTS) updated his twitter saying that Siwon is leaving today, so that means all of SM is since they're taking one plane together, so they should be arriving tomorrow morning. Usually international flights from Seoul arrive around 10-11am I believe.

^ LOL We went to get food and then thought we would head to our room to drop my sis off(cause she was dead tired lol) and then head up where you all where. But our big mistake was laying down in bed after eating. I told Sharon(roomate) that I would take a quick 20 minute nap. Yeah 20 minute nap...... Sharon called me from the lobby saying things like "BoA just passed by" and "Jessica and Krystal just passed by" but noooo I was knocked out hahaha. A few thing to note about the SM Town concert:
- I need a new camera, something that can record at least 720p video
- Don't go to a concert with 1 16GB SD card that 3/4ths full :banghead:
- Bring an extra camera battery (I didn't have a use for it, but everyone else around me did)
So yea, being in the floor section, I tried to get as much as I can but with so little space on my SD card, I only got half of the concert and the other on my phone. Too bad the video from my phone isn't that good.
Even then I only have one really good video to share. This was around the time where crowd management staff stopped caring about people hanging around the sections closest to the stage.

The concert was awesome. At the end where all of SM Town came out, I got to touch the hands of Taeyeon, Seohyun, and I believe a 3rd SNSD girl (I'm positive it wasn't Tiffany or Sunny) but for some reason can't remember for the life of me. Oh, and the hands of Go Ara and Zhang Liyin too...and some of the guys's hands that I could care less about (It's not like I'm going to put my hand down when they walk by). I might remember if I can find fancams of the end of the concert.

Anyways, it's ironic, I went to the concert in hope of getting a re-light fire for f(x), one that hasn't ever really been there. Instead, it's Bangkok 08 all over again with my ipod filled with SHINee and SuJu. God damn those boys can dance!
One more thing. I kinda liked not having a camera, it's good to focus more on actually just being there than the camera the whole time. However, there was one moment when I was like "Noooooooooooooo!". When dinbut and fenbut was side by side at the soshified meetup, it was magic, and I didn't catch that magic. Sorry.

This tour actually IS annual, but this was the first time they brought it to LA, and the US, for that matter. They'll probably be back next year, but due to costs, they'll likely be sticking to the West Coast, as SME is pretty cheap.
As for an all-SNSD show, I'd like to see it, but there is no way they'd go as long as this concert(4 hours). I'm thinking 1-2 hours for them would be a good.

Everyone woke up so hungover, somehow dewgong and/or Snow were there too, KT stepped on one of em XD jay had to check out so we moved all the booze back down lol Hangover or pre-hangover or tired as fuck drunk meal at ihop, so fucking dehydrated just drank all the all you could drink water, lol we also saw Dave and Fen going to the parking garage and waved at em!
We decide to go to Beverly Hills, Santa Monica Beach area. Chill eat some fancy ass cupcakes and roll down Rodeo Drive LIKE BAWSES. Pronouncing all the fucking Euro label names American style. Totally went into LV and fuuuuucck. Then Niketown was like :drool: Fen, Din, ebc n Crew went to Korean BBQ so we met up with em in Lil Tokyo for Odango's B-Day karaoke!!!
Totally forgot (and prolly cuz I couldn't bring my bag around) to get the others to sign Odango's birthday card, so like totally nonchalantly lol slippedo out of the karaoke room...but it got done, we all hungry...tried to find some beer place, but it was late. BYE FEN! DAVE! Until next time, make us proud in Taiwan and we go back to Sheraton for some Hangover/Sleepy TOK!! This be my first concert of Korean Music and DAMN HOMES...gotta say, so much love and showmanship to all the artists, really enjoyed em all. Even tho I prolly knew like two or three acts really well, went in there with an open fucking mind and woooooooooooo'd for all of em, or just head nodded lol And to see the fans from all around the fucking nation, I mean I didn't get a fucking fan chant. Sunny said Hi back to me <3 She's beautiful! For Taeyeon, I didnt know it was her at first and then when I found out I freaked out! I wanted to follow her inside the hotel XD She's so cute! But at that time I didnt think straight and didnt go inside the hotel.. For Jessica, I had to run up to catch her, that was right after Sunny came in. I squeezed myself in the huge crowd and managed to say a Bye Jess and see her in the elevator.

Sunday Morning, after the :hipheart: After Party:
I just bought a bagel w/ cream cheese and some chocolate milk at the lobby. I went up the elevator to go to my room to eat my breakfast. As I was about to reach my room, I saw housekeeping right there. So I went back to the elevators and decided to eat my breakfast back down at the lobby.
Once the elevator doors opened, instantly spotted Yuri standing in the corner in the back, 2 fangirls in front of her, and a bodyguard standing to the side. Inside my head was like :shocked, 'Just how many more SM artists am I gonna see before I leave?'.
Earlier that morning, spotted Tiffany at the lobby. Said 'Hi Tiff' and 'Have a safe trip'. Next was f(x) going down the escalator, only to go back up again in a few seconds. Minutes later there was Jess sighting #4. Yelled 'Have a safe trip' while she was riding up the escalator. After that I decided to head back to my room, and you know what happens afterwards. :lol:
I didn't say anything (unfortunately) and throughout that ride down to the first floor I was regretting not wearing my :hipheart: shirt. After that she left, heading to the mall, probably to Victoria's Secret. Again. :lol:
So during those 4 hours from 8 am to noon, I spotted f(x) (2 times), Tiffany, Jessica (2 times), Sunny (I think), SNSD's luggage, YoonYul, HyoSooSeo, and then Yuri on the elevator. Funny thing is I didn't care if I was never going to see them again after the concert. :lol:
