I have to say, I'm really falling in love with Sayumi now. She is such a great leader. I love her comedic timing and sense of humour - like apologizing to Reina once Reina says "finally, someone who can sing!" (about Sakura's 11th gen addition). And apparently she was in a way defending current Morning Musume when some ex-members said that in the old days, the gaps between different generations used to be wider, Sayu commenting that the current way has its own charm. (Note: This is what I picked up from translations in IRC and I may remember some details wrong. If anyone has access to such translations in detail, I'd love to see them posted >_<)

At 23, Sayu's intellect, hard work and kindness are making her VERY attractive to me...

Of course, we're left with the feeling, "I wish they'd let us sing our current song also, even if just a tiny bit of it." To reduce that frustration, we have no choice but to aim higher, right? So it was with that sentiment that I said, "The golden era is starting now."

Sayumi needs our encouragement as she continues to lead Morning Musume- the only
remaining member who has belonged to a Morning Musume line up which included
members from the first through fourth generations.....

I suspect it may be a little lonely for her when Reina is graduated, so
