LightScribe
« on: July 18, 2007, 09:35:49 PM »
Anyone here would insist buy a DvD drive or computer that have a DvD drive with LightScribe???

i wouldn't really need it but I don't really need things that great, if i want the DvD or CD customized, might as well buy the official one.

also LightScribe isn't that great because the program for it uses too much storage on your computer, well to me is quite a lot.

I've never particularly cared one way or the other.

Lightscribe is an extra $5 when buying a DVD-burner. Don't think I'd use it though.

I had thought about getting a LightScribe drive. But in reality, if I'm burning something, I'm not patient enough to sit around an extra 5 minutes for a fancy label, especially if it's not as easy to read as writing a name with a Sharpie.

I need my DVD burner to be good at burning DVDs, and that's all. (But that's just my opinion..)

lightscribe is pretty useful if you're going to like distribute them to other people, so it looks nice. That said, I don't really find it that useful for me.

agree with all of you above because LightScribe requires a special CD/DvD which costs a lot more and funny, the Drives i see that have LightScribe and that doesnt have LightScribe have quite a big difference in price range

I have Lightscripeburner too, it is maybe a year old.
I bought it because my old DVDDrive was a little broken.

I used Lightscripe about 4 times, why i know so exactly?
Because I bought a 5-Pack of Lightscribe DVDs and there is still 1 lying around here somewhere.

Doesn't looks that great on the Disks, color and more contrast would be great,
you can't have everything though. :P

I have it in my asus laptop, have yet to try it. Sounds like something that'll cut the laser lens lifetime. x_x
