She is one artist that I want to be like.
She was Former Seventeen Japan model who achieved large popularity with her punk style songs.

Birthdate: October 24, 1984
Birthplace: Tokyo, Japan
Ethnicity: Half-Japanese, Half-English

Kaela Kimura was born to a Japanese mother and an English father. She is a famous teen model in Japan. She often models for Seventeen Magazine. She has co-hosted a Japanese vareity show called Saku Saku since 2003, and she just graduated form the program on March 31st 2006. She knows how to play piano and guitar and she release her first single Level 42 on 06/23/04. It debuted at number 12 on the weekly oricon charts. Since then she has released five other singles and two albums. Her newsest album Circle was released on March 18th, 2006 and placed 2nd on the weekly Oricon charts, just behind Koda Kumi's Best ~Second Session~. She has also starred in the movie Custom Made 10.30, and is also in the upcoming movie Kiraware Matsuko no Issho starring Bonnie Pink. Kaela's cover of Oh Pretty Woman is also the ending song for the dorama Attention Please.

I just discovered Kaela Kimura through her KAELA album and she rocks! :heart: I love every song on that album, which is of course really rare for any CD to be good all the way through! Her 3rd album, Scratch, comes out 2.7.07 too :heart: I'm for sure getting it^^

Bump for great justice. Just listened to Scratch, and I must say it's an awesome album. It feels more straight-forward and upbeat than Circle, I can't decide which one's better yet, though.
My favorite tracks, except for the older ones, are dolphin, SWINGING LONDON and never land. Scratch is also awesome, you can clearly hear Takashi Kashikura's drumming in it. It's practically toe with Kaela in the background. :lol: BeatCru's participation is pretty obvious as well, with the synthesizers and all. Oh, and album version of Ground Control > Snowdome version.

I just got a listen too. Awesome album! Hard to choose which one I like more. It has a different feel from Circle. I'm leaning towards this more than Circle, though. Kashi's drumming is really obvious in this one. And yeah, especially on Scratch, which is basically a toe song. :lol: I liked L.drunk and never land the most on first listen. The album version of Ground Control is hot.

It's for a movie called Pako and the Magical Picture book. Directed by the man behind Kamikaze girls and Memories of Matsuko and starring a whole bunch of really cool people. (Like Koji Yakusho, Ryo Kase, Anna Tsuchiya, Sadao Abe, Jun Kunimura, and Eiko Koike.)

The film “Cheburashka” will be opening in theaters across Japan on December 18th and it has just been announced that the movie’s theme song will be provided by pop singer Kimura Kaela.
Kimura Kaela’s theme song for the movie will be called “orange.” She was officially requested to make the theme song for the film back in April, and she instantly agreed since the “Cheburashka” character is one of her absolute favorites. The singer says the lyrics are about, “your best friend and people close to you talking and doing things, spending time together. About how your heart warms. I thought that I wanted to include something like that, so I wrote it.”
“Cheburashka” is based off a Russian children’s book by author Eduard Uspensky. The film is animated with dolls and stop motion photography, in the same style as the famous Russian animator Roman Kachanov. The Japanese staff fell in love with the original Russian film and they have selected the child actress Oohashi Nozomi to play the lead voice actress part.

A long time since a posting for Kaela Kimura..... (of course she was out of action for a while, having a baby and whatnot)
Computer Generated Graphics are great, but for her new single "Sun Shower", to be released on October 24,
artists created hand made backdrops as she was performing the dance.........It sounds like a very nice song,
and I like the focus on creativity...........Kaela san, Gooooooooooooooooooooooooo job!!!!
