this started from Risa Land (http://forum.jphip.com/showpost.php?p=160938&postcount=290) and is inspired by this post (http://forum.jphip.com/showpost.php?p=163527&postcount=49) from the thread that is somewhat have a relative topic. so its wordsworth's idea technically for his the one who said:
True. Next thing you know is that you're naming your kids(assuming they're girls) after H!P girls. :P
i like two-part names, so possibly my daughters will be:
:heart:rika andrea and :heart:reina andrea
explanation: i dont know what's the deal with "andrea" but i'm really crazy about that name...and also it rhymes with my lastname and my real name starts with "R" cool...but if its a boy i'll give him "drift" from which "drifoy" is derived...
in that way he will be a JPH!Pstah before he could even say "my rikalicious:heart:"!XD
i'm tryin to make up sumthin more names from H!P girls...tell me what you have come up with!:D (even if you really don't want to have kids then make up sumthin to name your future imaginary kidsXD)
-
I wouldn't use any H!P names unless my wife was Japanese.
If so, Asami might be a good choice. :)
It would be a nice job and it wouldn't be immediately obvious since it's the most popular name in Japan and all.
-
yep i guess it still depends if the future :heart:wife agrees with the name...but we can always combine it with hers...lol...and i believe that a kids name should have both the mother and the father's inputXD
-
Similarly to Asmo, I don't think I'd give any of my future kids (if I have any) H!P names, more generally, not Japanese names. Unless my husband is Japanese, even if he's only 1/2.
However, if I did have a daughter, I'd consider the name Reina. I've always liked it. Actually, I'd use it also even if my husband isn't Japanese, because it's Spanish for "Queen"
-
MM names are kinda good for finnish children.
Mari and Iida are traditional finnish names. Miki is a modern name for a boy. Maki is more like a nickname though. Change Rika to Riikka and it'll do fine. Aya could be changed to Aija, but the pronunciation is almost the same.
-
reina sounds good, different from those typical singaporen girl names like wendy and sharon...
-
If I would have twins they'll be named Rika and Risa ^_^
-
Well hmm... im not going to have any kids but if i would i would name them (haha them ... ^^") Tsuji or Nozomi and Risa and Reina
-
I wouldn't mind having a daughter named Sayumi.
-
The most stylish one in my opinion are Ai, Reina and Ayumi.
-
ummm..... I'll probably name them Mari, Natsumi, Asami, Ai, and Risa. I want to name it with a relation to Kamei Eri too, but trying to think of a good one there.
:D
-
Miki or Mari
-
Ai..... since of course she'll be the apple of my eye
-
Erika or Sayumi not sure which kanji for both though... And that's if I marry a Japanese dude too
-
Airi or Aya...
But I wouldn't name my daughters with Japanese names, unless I lived in Japan.

you gonna have childs ??!! :o :o
-
I agree with arian, I think the only name I'd realistically consider would be Reina because of the "Queen" thing. I think I'm still leaning towards naming my first daughter Kasumi however, in hopes that she'll turn out to be like Kasumi Tendo from Ranma 1/2. Then her initials would be KC, and would probably get called "Casey" by all the Pinoy relatives. Reina's initials would be RC, but somehow "Arsey" doesn't sound as nice. Makes it sound like she'd have a big ass.
-
you gonna have childs ??!! :o :o
YOU gonna have kids?!!
PS : :kickass:
-
In Finland, a lot of Japanese names would sound just fine, so I guess I'm lucky  I'm not thinking of getting kids though, and much less thinking of names for them; but I like thinking of what names could work, so ---> babbling!
I was once thinking of how Yurina could be Juliina in Finnish (lol), for a second name maybe...
Names ending in -ko wouldn't be that good because it kind of turns it into a question... (Momoko? Risako?)
Maimi would perfectly work in Finnish, but it sounds like an old name. Maiha would work too, actually it sounds pretty cool... Maiha would be nice...
Reina would kinda sound more like a man's name in Finnish (Reino, Reijo).
Kanna would work, but it might lead into "kanta" jokes... Anri would work, Airi, too... (I'm going through Egg names, now XD)
So I think my fave might be Anri... Anri sounds kind of Finnish, but still foreign, it might be cool.
...Erm *shuts up*
-
^ Anri sounds good.. Has a flare of both cultures! I like it!
-
I wouldn't name my daughter after an H!P girl. Even if she did share a name, it would only be because of the name, not because of the H!P girl she shares the name with. I don't really know what I would name my kids, probably at least one would have a Thai name, since I'm half Thai. Other than that, I really don't have much of an idea for names. I might at least do what my dad did for my brother and I. We all have the same intials, so I may keep that going with my children.
-
Hitomi would be nice
-
My name starts with 'M' so I will follow the tradition we have in our family by naming my kids with names starting with 'M'.
Possibilities would be:Miuna,Megumi,Makoto,Maasa,Momoko,Maiha,Mari, Masae, Maimi,Miyabi,Miki and Mai.
Top 3 would be: Miuna,Maiha or Miki
But that would depend if my wife would agree with me ;)
I already have a name for a boy if I had one: Machiavelli :P :pimp:
-
I like the names Sayumi, Rika and Risa. I'd mostly like name my children after them. The youngest Sayumi and twins Rika and Risa. Twins runs in my family so who knows I might have a chance.
V(^_^)

I'd research all the kanji first. For example, there's a gazillion ways of writing Natsumi (http://www.df.lth.se/cgi-bin/j-e/sjis/tty/dosearch?sName=on&H=PS&L=J&T=natsumi&WC=none) (I liked 夏月海 : summer-moon-sea).
But imho, most of H!P girls' names aren't obscure enough XD
I'm considering calling my son 虹郎 thanks to that damn Mushishi episode. That'd totally give him a fun life full of teasing weee
-
Hmm. I've always told myself that if I ever have kids I want them to have names that no one will tease them about and names that at the same time sort of stand out. It's boring being named for instance Julie and have 162756175 other girls in your class named the same.
Ehm, not sure if H!P names is the way to go XD; Some (or almost all of them) of the names becomes mangled and weird when pronounced like a Norwegian would pronounce them :/
-
miki is a definate possibility.. and not just cuz shes my favourite.. its a fairly decent name afterall :D
-
ai, if i'm not wrong it means "love", right?
ahhh... but it still a long-long way till a have a child
-
Kago Ai definitely... ---> i wish i could~
Nah... it just don't rhyme pretty with my name...
Megumi sounds better... Megumi~
-
Well, like many said, I wouldn't call my child a Japanese name unless I was in Japan, but...
...Erin is a beautiful name. Not Eri, not Eririn, Erin. I have a friend called Erin, and I love the name.
-
probably eri or miki because it can be their English name as well.
eri = ellie
miki = hmm ........
well i just love these 2 names
-
risa.. because it also sounds pretty normal for girl's name in my country =P.
-
Hmm...
Good question. I'd consider Ai even if my wife wasn't Japanese.
If I had a boy he'd be called Tsunku fo' sho'.
-
It'd be weird to name my kids in Japanese. I always want my daughter to use my name. :P I can't think of any name that's close to Thai either.
But if I had to choose one, it'd be Miyabi, I guess. It sounds nice with a good meaning also.
-
I don't want kids, but I'd find it really strange to name my kid after a Japanese celebrity. I do like Ellie, though, but that'd be the closest it'd ever get. I'd probably end up naming the kid after a relative or some name that I don't know-know anyone with

I "intentionally" recommended my sister, the name Eri for her unborn girl.(coming out in 2 months time) without her knowing that its 1 of the morning musumes' names. Now she will be called Ellie Maureen Lesmana XD :D
-
My husband And I were talking about what if we had another child what we would call him or her. After a while we decided that if we had a girl she is likely to be called either Takahashi, Sayumi or Hitomi. If it was a boy I said Makoto as it is both a girls and a boys name.
-
I'll cheer that your child is a girl, and you name it Sayumi, I love that name.
I don't know why but it sounds so beautiful !
Of all H!P names that's definitly the one I would pick.
-
Most likely these following:
-Aya
-Eri
-Miki
-
That would probably be some of these
* Nozomi
* Ai (Aichan)
* Miki
* Reina
* Hitomi
* Risa
-
I'd have to go with what the others say and I'd probably name them the names that wouldn't make people wonder what orgin it is. XD
- Risa
- Reina
- Rika
-
Eri (since i'm a Kameist and all)
Risa
Aya
-
Nichino or Miki
-
maybe Reina , Rika , Risa, Mari , Miki or Maki
-
Even before I ever heard of H!P I wanted to name my possible daughter Ayumi.. but since I don't like Ayumi Hamasaki much and I love Michishige I might have to change it into Sayumi :)
-
o.0 I don't think it's weird, I think it's cool to be named after something
I like:
-Sayumi
-Ai
-Risa
-Reina
 and of course, I love Ayumi  XD
-
i wouldnt name any of my kids ai ... cause its prono...something like the swedish ow XD
but Reina or Risa
-
In my country I cannot give my doughter an Asian name... but ther is a name that in its short form sounds like Reina...
Anyways if I could give my daughter a Japanise name, It woud be Ayumi or Maki ^___^
-
I think if I ever had kids (not gonna happen) Kaori would be really pretty for a girl or Mari (because it's simple enough).
I already have other names picked from other stuff. Yuki (girl) and Jun (boy). Of course in that world my name would be Hiroshi-mama. It could happen. :D
-
I always thought Risa and Kaori were really pretty...I don't think I could name a girl 'Ai' because one of my favorite things to say is 'AIIII' whenever I do something wrong. Asami I think is a good name...Sayumi, Aya-really, I like all of them. And where i live I could totatly get away with it.
But I think it would depend on whether or not whoever I marry agrees, yeah?
-
Reina and Risa are good names...hmm.:)
-
If I have children, and if I have daughters, I already decided on Darla or Robin. But if I had to choose a H!P name, which probably wouldn't happen, it'd probably be Reina. Sounds the most English-like. :P
-
^Robin is the name of H!P EGG so it could count there xD
I probably wouldn't give my child a H!P name unless my husnad wanted one too.
But for the sake of this thread maybe Reina as that sounds cool, even in an English accent. or maybe Risa-changed to Lisa lol. Mari spelt differently is a scottish name(my aunts name) so that could make sense - but it'd seem like im naming her after my aunt. Maybe Miki aswell
Just inoring the whole not-japanese thing, maybe Nozomi - as it means wish and I like it. Possibly Hitomi I've always liked that name. Or miyabi - elegence, Maimi too, that's sounds cool. There are lots of cool and pretty names in H!P and I'd probably end up naming them all if I carry on lol.
-
Whenever I have children (if I ever have children); First girl will be named "Ai" or at the very least have that as her middle name.
Other names I will consider are:
-Reina (Hellllllllllo. Very pretty name. Uncommon around where I live. So it's unique.)
-Asami (Always liked the name.)
-Aya (Well, Because I'm a HUGE fan of Matsu and Aya Brea from the Parasite Eve games.. XD)
-Miki (...Do I need to explain? XD)
-
Either:
-Robin (you could get away with that)
-Yuko (but only if my daughter's hot-- just kidding. That's mean.)
-Risa (sounds like 'Lisa', and Risa's a pretty name)
-Megumi
-Asuka
-Kaori (I've always liked that name)
-Reina (<3)
-
i would name her Reina or Kaori =] for some reason i like these 2 names but i probly wont unless i have japanese wife xP
