The 19th Single Senbatsu will be decided by a Rock-Paper-Scissors Tournament.
I guess that Suiensaa episode will be useful, after all. They're doing some seeding to make sure the heavyweights don't clash, but I don't know anything about tournament placings for it to make any sense. :lol:

Hmm... just got off the "Erepyon graduates" thread and into this! Maybe THIS is why she went.
^^ Looking at the pic, initially just thought somebody has been watching too much World Cup and noticed that a few members will get 1st round byes which guarantees top tier members don't lose at the beginning. A hint of fixed results already?
HOWEVER~~ upon more scrutiny, members that get byes; Sato Sumire (1), Nakata Chisato (14)??? Also, if the color mark is any symbol, that means 1st round bye members are guaranteed an Undergirls spot. Win 2 rounds and you're IN SENBATSU!! Either Takamina (33) or Yuko (35) WON'T BE in senbatsu, if both win round 1 they'll duke it out over undergirls position!
Guess Akimoto was pissed at fans claiming both AX and member votes were fixed. This'll teach them!

I really like this idea! It's possible to fix it, but I think they'd fix it to be interesting (a senbatsu member in undergirls, for example).
But still, this is cute.

So I wrote a short program to 'predict' the results of this ridiculously hilarious tournament.
Basically, the meat of the program is making the girls go up against each other for a set of 10000 RPS matches. This cuts down on dumb luck, and adds a bit more 'randomness' to Java's (notoriously bad) RNG.

I watched a bunch of concerts with her back when I had DMM subscription. She can be seen in the Mii-chan's unit together with Tomomi (Criss) singing Gyakuten Ojisama ("my prince, only backwards").

These results are pretty interesting. My biggest thought right now: "At least we know it wasn't rigged!" :lol:
First of all, a great big sad face to Nakamata Shiori not making it. :( Uchida Mayumi winning is… not what I wanted, to be honest. I like her but I like many others more. Although, I am glad someone not normally in the front or even back row of a single won. I would have just preferred it to be someone like Haachan or Nakayan, or even Sasshi of course. However, Harukyan getting #2 is AWESOME!!! She's really great and my fandom of her has been on the rise, so I'm happy she's in such a high spot. Also glad that Harugon got a high spot, she's pretty cool. Maeda Ami in the top five is also awesome. Glad to see Suuchan there as well. Also cool to see other names we don't often see, like Krisu, Sakiko, and Chikarina.
Still, I'm disappointed somewhat for obvious reasons. :lol: No Sasshi at all?! No Yukirin? No Sae? No Mayu? No Haachan? Bummer. Sure it's great that my #2 Akicha is in there, but I dunno, it's just an odd feeling to not see more of them. I am glad, though, that this election gave us such a diverse group and gives other members, some who've never been in an a-side single before, a chance to shine. There's definitely nothing wrong with that and I look forward to seeing what they do with this.
The only annoying thing I've seen in all this is while reading around elsewhere online, some people need to relax. Haters gonna hate, but I find it kinda funny that some people are already putting Ucchi down when they don't even know who she is. Calm down, I'm sure we'll be back to the "Acchan, Yuko, and friends" formula for the 20th single. Let the Ucchi, Harukyan, etc. fans have their fun. You just might be surprised what some of these under-appreciated girls are capable of.
Anyway, though I didn't get the mix I totally wanted, I'm still really excited for Ucchi, Harukyan, and all the rest and I definitely look forward to seeing what's in store for this single. I look forward to/hope there is a next one, and I hope and pray that SKE48 does this soon. *daydreams of a masterpiece headed by Deguchi Aki and Hata Sawako*

I confess that I didn't really know who she was until now, and that I'm kind of pretty disappointed that she beat out Lovetan, who I was really hoping would make senbatsu, but at least Lovetan's retaining her status as an Undergirl. Maybe she'll be the center again?
I'm actually really happy that Maeda Ami's in the top five; I really like her for some reason, and so I'm glad she'll be getting a good spot.
I'm pretty excited to see how this turns out!!

NGL I'm not a big fan of Uchida but still, it's pretty neat/cool/nice to see somebody else as center. Slightly disappointed that Haachan and Nacchan didn't make it but I'll deal XD

Really? I think this single will sell ok, maybe not as much as a "normal" senbatsu would but still not bad. Still got Aki, Kasai, Kojiharu, and Acchan to help with sales (especially Acchan). The theater girls song might me be amazing (it's so "star studded") and undergirl songs are normally better for me XD
Does this single come with anything extra (as in event tickets or best set list voting? or is that the 18th single?)

^ Oh, yes it may sell fairly well! I just can't see it being as much of a hit as Heavy Rotation or Ponytail to Shushu... :D;
Then again-- Heavy Rotations sales where probably boosted alot by the change in ranking and controversy about the "lack" of costumes :lol: ... so perhaps this complete mix up of positions in the songs will increase interest!

Whether it is or not, it's great seeing the girls, each wearing a Chinese dress :drool:

^ Considering who is on that picture, it's highly unlikely: of the 6 there, only Kojiharu made top 10 of janken senbatsu (Acchan and Chiyuu still making senbatsu, whereas the other three are not in senbatsu at all).

Yeah not to mention "Chance no Junban" doesn't seem to be printed on that image anywhere... but I'm not very good at reading Japanese- it doesn't look like it to me!
Perhaps it's a poster for an advertising campaign or a one off single like Team Dragon or something! :D
