Mika did not register for the election this year. Last year she slid back many places from the year before.
So maybe she is hesitant to go through further heartache?

No need for heartache, Mika is a beautiful girl, and fun to watch in any skit.

Anyway, the rules this year were that the person had to register if they wanted to be in the election, thus implying, if someone did
not wan to go through the election, they did not have to.

Mika is on the new Team B show 'Saturday Night Child Machine' where she takes part in the really funny songs that are performed on the show. As usual, she is gorgeous.

I read some fan comments about her, and many are in agreement- they say she is a really nice girl at the handshake events.

And I hope we have some new WH7 songs as well, she has been a welcome addition to the group.

I, Komori Mika, am graduating from AKB48.
I started thinking about my future when the new senbatsu election system was announced.
I've been here for 4 years, and I was thinking about approaching the future the way I have always been, then I realized the path I want to take is not the same as AKB48.
I want to see more of the world, and when I graduated high school I wish I had worked harder.
I graduated with the determination to study abroad, which has been one of my dreams.
I moved here from Aichi when I was in 8th grade, and I have learned a lot from everything good and bad I went through.
The experiences from these 4 years are not something easily obtained and they are my treasures.
I am here today because of the support from all the fans, staff, family, friends and members.
I am going to go after my new goal.
I haven't decided what will happen when I go abroad, but I would be grateful if you will keep supporting me.

^ It's a good thing that she feels that way although I can't expect all who are not going to participate feel like they have to graduate from the group.

Mikapon, Happy 19th Birthday!!!!

Mika will spend her last teenage year outside of the familiar
home that AKB48 has become for her- so hoping that beautiful Mika chan
is able to walk a beautiful path as she becomes an adult.

Have always enjoyed her somewhat shy personality, her gorgeous smile, and her
sparkling eyes. Hoping that the coming year brings lovely Mika much joy and happiness!!!

Former AKB48 member Komori Mika has announced that she will be retiring from the show business after her contract with her agency expires on August 20.

In a blog entry titled "To everyone who have supported me," Komori reported, "I've decided to quit show business." She apologized, "I'm sorry for this very sudden announcement."

Komori revealed, "In fact, I've been thinking about quitting show business for a very long time," and continued, "I made up mind to settle down a little and do my best in an environment that's different from the entertainment world while facing my new self. This is a decision I've made myself, so it would make me happy if you would watch over me warmly." She will continue to update her blog until the 20th.
