First off, 冠番組 (Kanmuri Bangumi) is a term in variety shows which basically is used to indicate a show which is centered/focused on the talent hosting it. It can be translated to crown battle as above, but it means more than that. It's unclear if this will be the actual title of the show but it seems like it for now.

This show is a situational comedy battle show where every week Nogizaka46 will face off against HKT48 in a comedy act. This is different from what NMB does on Geinin and is more focused on telling a "story" during the acts which leads to humorous stuff. Although Geinin served to also tell a story, the main focus in that show was the "manzai" acts. The type this show will be using are "contos" these are typically easier to follow as a lot of the story is told through their actions as well.

The show will be 1 hour long, so we can assume 30 minutes will be dedicated to each group. Every week, a team of creative judges will judge the acts and decide which group was funnier/more interesting. Whichever group wins for the week will get to perform first on the next episode (thus gaining them the earlier timeslot).

This idea was created when it was thought "We want to see the innocent/pure Nogizaka46 try comedy"

Lastly, the show is hosted on NTV which is also where we got AKBINGO, Magical Radio, NMB Geinin amongst others. This can be considered their shows for the HKT and Nogi fans!

冠番組 = a show with the person/group's name in the show title. So "Nogizaka46 x HKT48" basically sounds right (take it with a grain of salt).

But whatever, Nogizaka taking on HKT sounds like a lot of fun.
About time for the official rival group to actually do some rivaling.

New info on that program! Turns out it is actually two separate programs! Here's more info, thanks once again to Aikyi from Ebi48!

Okay, so the show consists of two "programs" which each group does. The first one is Nogizaka's which is titled NOGIBINGO. The concept is exactly the same as AKBINGO! and they're experimenting to see if they copy their rivals, if they will be able to grow as well. Interesting.

The second one is for HKT and it's called "Tonkotsu Mahou Shoujo Gakuin" (Pork Belly Magic Girl Academy). There's a magic school on a secluded mountain in Fukuoka and the HKT members all undergo training everyday to become magic girls.

There will be 12 episodes in total, and each group will have 11 stories (30 minutes each). Whichever group wins in the week gets to have their show broadcasted in an earlier timeslot in the following week.

指原莉乃が先輩魔法使い、ほかのHKT48メンバーが魔法使い見習いとなり、バラティ企画に全力で挑み成長していく育成型バラエティ番組。あらゆる分野から招く偉大な魔法使い＝芸能人ゲストが登場。「トーク」では魔法使い見習いが特別講師に率直な質問をしていく。「特別授業」ではゲストからさまざまな極意を学んでいく。

Sasshi will be the senpai magic user and the other HKT members will be learning under her etc. They will have lots of guest appearances as well to partake as a "special course" and other cool things.

Basically, the concept of a competition is still the same but it is two separate programs instead of one. Each show have 30 mins, instead of the 1 hr we previously expected. This will solidify the screen time each groups get into 30 mins but of course made interaction none-existence methink.

Seems like Sasshi will be in a position similar to a MC to I guess, which is a good thing I suppose. I don't exactly like the concept of Ngzk following AKBingo's format tho, I want them to pursue their own style. NogiBingo this name I quite dislike too lol.

Right, so now the whole of the first episode has got subbed, I thought I'd watch it - bear in mind I haven't watched any idol variety in over a month, bar a little Eizo Centre a few weeks back...

It was great having halfassedsubs back, they are always funny, and made the Suki!Suki!Skip! song great. However, after 5 minutes, I wanted to turn off. The problem with the show was the celebrity comedians - I simply don't want to see them. I want to see an idol show not a random Japanese comedian show. Anyone who follows me on twitter knows I don't think anything of Japanese comedy - maybe it's far too different to British comedy? Anyway, after the comedians did their stuff and the HKT girls started to do their thing, I really enjoyed the show. As for Episode 1 of Nogibingo, it seems to want to introduce the key members of Nogizaka, which makes sense, but after the first set of creaming, it got boring fast - it was just different girls getting creamed. And then the 2nd half of the show just introduced Nogibingo, which we all knew was coming, and recapped all the creaming episodes... dull. I'm not sure if it's worth watching a 2nd episode of all this, but once halfassed does episode 2 I'd be tempted, and then can also see what Nogibingo is like as an actual episode.
