Pretty impressive, these Chinese superstars have in the global scene, what recognition that they still pull:

Leslie Cheung Teresa Teng chosen as Top 20 global music icons on CNN

Although Leslie Cheung and Teresa Teng are not in this world anymore, but are still publicly recognized as role models. Recently, American program CNN is conducting an online poll called the "Top Five Global Music Icons". The late Leslie and Teresa were selected for the Top 20 world famous prominent singers in the past 50 years. They are also the only two Asian stars that were chosen. They are on par with Western stars like the Beatles, Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, Madonna and the Rolling Stones. The poll results are out on August 25th.
