Yeah, it should be interesting to see what the single will do. Wasamin doesn't seem that popular among most akb48 fans (she didn't make top 40, her pics sell relatively cheap, etc), and I have no idea to what extent enka is popular. If enka is popular among the elderly, will they be interested in some 16 year old doing it? Does she have enough life experience to put enough emotion in her singing, etc?



Wasamin will perform Mujin-eki at the Enka New Year Festival concert tomorrow! Her big debut! Good luck!

^Yeah, it will be interesting to see how well this sells.  On one hand, Sakura Maya (an enka singer) seems reasonably popular and she's something like 15.  So certainly someone must be interested in a young girl singing enka.  But she I don't think she's exactly a chart topper.  Personally I actually kinda like younger girls singing enka.  To me it makes enka seem more modern.  I'm no knocking enka but I've never really liked it much at all.  Then I saw Sakura Maya and thought 'actually, this isn't so bad'.

Wasamin might not be one of my favourites but I'll actually be interested in this release as I think it could be really good.

I'm curious to hear how this single will turn out. I don't expect sales numbers to be through the roof but I hope they will be good enough that her agency will go, "Oh wow, she can do this, let's support her even more!"

Also really curious to see how Heavy Rotation will work as an Enka song. Where will she use the vibrato? "I want youuuUUUUuuUUUuuuuUUuUUU, I need youuuUUuUUUuu, I love youUuuUUUuu"
