There have been rumors floating around about the title involving the word "brain" and being shortened to "buresuto/breast". The same rumors also predicted the same release date that Sayu just confirmed, so we'll see.

I wonder if we'll get someone else arranging this time; as much as I absolutely loved Okubo's work on the previous three singles, I think we could afford a little break from that sound.

Amazing coincidence, but I was watching this show in which they explained various terms used in business, once of which was breast/brainstorming! I check this thread and find the exact same info, haha.

As for the song, I like it better than Help Me, but it's pretty much exactly the same as the past three singles 
For a song called "brainstorming" you'd expect some new ideas 
In addition, they should have called it "Breast" for more media attention. lol

I don't mind seeing the same style, if people are liking it.
Don't feel as excited for this one though, as it doesn't have the catchy feel of Help Me. Maybe the main PV will look better.

I had to watch this video 3 times, mainly because the blurry iPhone quality of this video made it hard to figure out who's who the first two times! Like seriously, there's no way this is actually 480p.

I guess my feelings toward this song and video so far is best described as simultaneously disappointed and pleasantly surprised. The song's general sound and dance indeed borrows a bit too much from the previous three singles (why mess with success?), but there's definitely a sense of evolution going on as well--it's certainly not "exactly the same". Yet another four-on-the-floor monorhythm beat gets used again, but thankfully it's easily overshadowed by a hectic jungle-ish beat getting used for most of the song. The dance seems to recycle and tweak a lot of moves and formations used recently, but at the same time I just love that waving M at the end of each chorus and the "fight" between Riho and Ayumi at 1:40. And yeah, this sounds like another Okubo track, whose current winning formula could easily turn into a losing formula if not careful, but I do like that the line distribution doesn't seem as lopsided as usual here--and with this being Reina's last single I think there's a good chance we actually might get something a bit different for the 54th single due to the vocal landscape changing significantly.

The important thing is that overall this song is pretty good despite its faults; it reminds me mostly of "Wakuteka" (which has to be a good thing) with a little bit of "Naichau Kamo", but I'm definitely also in the same camp of liking this more than "Help Me".

Other notes:
- Despite my gripes with the blurry quality, it also made for a fun guessing game! Looks like the red team consists of Reina, Mizuki, Erina, Ayumi, Haruka, and Sakura, and the purple team consists of Sayumi, Riho, Kanon, Haruna, and Masaki.
- Reina's the only one with an open jacket; I suppose since she's on her way out it's appropriate she gets some extra breathing room.
- Kuduu rocking a cap again. It's a cute gimmick, I must say.
- I almost forgot Sakura was in the group, as she finally switched her hair away from that bob/helmet style she's had since winning her audition.
- Did Zukki lose weight? She looks a bit slimmer here.

Wakuteka and Help Me took a little bit to grow on me but this one is like OTT in that I loved it upon first listen. Truthfully, I forgot Sakura was in the group so I had a moment of "whoa, who's singing there?" Not much to say aside from complaints about the video quality from me, I really love the new Momusu.

The song's style isn't a problem with me. I think it might be good to have a signature sound while looking for the new signature voice.

Mini dance break after the 1st chorus was 

I think they've been putting a lot of emphasis on formation dances which can be cool to watch but also means that there's no mass-craze dance steps to subliminally feed to people. But I think this song is more dance-to-able for me than Help me.

I watch dance versions way more than the official PVs. I didn't complain about Help Me!!  with their use of the green screen but I am happy they didn't go that way for this one. I am happily hypnotized by the lights at the back.

Ok my thoughts on the song. I had to watch the video several times before I could get my feelings in order.

Firstly...WHAT is with the lack of impact for the song itself? I mean, after a few more listens it's starting to grow on me and I'm sure I'll eventually come to love it, but the first listen didn't grab me in the same way 123 or even Help Me did. The only reason I kept watching was because the dance was so badass I had to keep going. And then repeat because I need to watch the dance again. And again. And again. I suspect this is a trend.

The title of this song is Brainstorming....and it feels like Tsunku is definitely still "brainstorming" for a Reina-less Momusu. You can tell that the group itself is still in the process of rearrangement, with Reina getting significantly fewer solo parts and extremely fair line distribution this time round. I was so surprised Maachan, Harunan and Ayumi got solo parts, I had to rewind it again to watch it to make sure I wasn't hallucinating. No one in particular was dominating the song, even though the dance formation obviously favours Riho on several occasions (that dance break with SayaIshi...I want an extended concert version for more win!). I think we might possibly be heading for a more democratic/even line distribution post-Reina if this song is any indication, and that's not a bad thing at all!

I had a deja vu moment with the Wakuteka-like section (you know what I mean), and the outfits are wonderful. I think I giggled a little at the Riho vs Ayumi dance break because Ayumi was wearing Riho's red and Riho was in that blue/purple thing. Colors reversed! Also, twintails? Moe.

I love everyone's hair here. Duu got a cap again! Might be a trend. I like what they did to Sakura's hair though I had a hard time trying to spot her with that blurry video quality. Harunan has gotten better with the dancing, and it seems like everyone has gotten better at singing. This is a good thing.

But yeah...I can't wrap my head around the fact that...man, there is nothing memorable about the song itself. 123 had the kickass chorus, Wakuteka had a cool bridge and an impact with the chorus also, Help Me is made memorable by Sakura's IN YOUR FACE solo part (seriously, when I try to remember Help Me, the first thing that comes to mind is her solo part). The only thing I take away from Brainstorming is なんだかいい気分♪ and that's neither here nor there. I might feel differently after I listen to this a few hundred more times, but for now, this is my impression.

All right, first thing I thought about this is that I just finished a course on digital sound design and from this song's feel it looks as if Tsunku graduated from the exact same course

True it's very similar to the previous singles. It strikes me as more similar to Wakuteka though, because it's less catchy. The chorus keeps that wonderful crescendo that is one of Tsunku's trademarks, though. Some of the transitions are forced but overall I like it very much.

Sakura's voice is amazing as always  and I'm pleasantly surprised with Ayumi's voice. Did they manage to finally teach her some breath control?

Choreography wise, it is OK but not amazing. I loved Ayumi and Sayashi's mini dance battle though.

Clothes and background decoration get a 10/10 mark. Elegant and fitting

Also, is it me but does it feel like he's being smug in some parts of the lyrics? He's like WAIT, we're not quite there yet....but at the same time...HAHA ORICON NO.1 FOR THE FIRST TIME IN AGES. FEELS GREAT. Yup.

First, I was totally " " during the SayaIshi dance throwdown.

Secondly, I don't know why, but I really liked the parts when they stood in a line in a sort of "M" formation and did a "wave" from one end to another.

Thirdly, sure they may have been short lines, but it was nice to hear Fukuchan getting some front time. 

Fourthly, and this is going to sound like it's coming totally out of left field, but when I saw the little "downward fist-pump" move that they do during part of the bridge/chorus (eg. @ ~01:10 or @ ~02:40), I immediately thought of Kojima Yoshio's infamous gag, as seen here http://youtu.be/1utN8BWudf0?t=33s.
