Pre-order for Elva’s 11th album, Miss Elva has just started on 8 Sep 2010, and it has pre-order figures have already reached 45,158 copies! Also, the music video of Miss Elva has attracted more than 140,000 hits within 6 days of release. “I’m really happy that my album and music video have received such recognition. I will accept any feedback be it positive or negative!” Elva said.

Two autograph session originally scheduled on 18 and 19 Sep were cancelled due to typhoon warnings. Elva expressed her thoughts via Sina Weibo when she received the news: “For eveyone’s safety, we have cancelled the 18 Sep session first. As everyone knows, I have a reputation of being the ‘Rain God’.”

Elva also thanked everyone who provided feedback on her Miss Elva music video on Youtube. Although the feedback were mostly positive, some were not so positive. Elva was very acceptable to those feedback, and said that Jolin does encounter this situation too. Jolin also commented that Elva’s music video was pretty cool, and the song was unforgettable.

Besides being the month’s mostly commented music video on Youtube, the Miss Elva music video also is the most viewed, most favourited and highest rated video of the month!

Elva Renews Her Vows with Gold Typhoon

Elva renews her contract with Gold Typhoon! A “wedding reception” was held on 20 Sep to symbolize Elva’s marriage with the record company. With 10 years of collaboration, Elva joked in her speech “Thank you for the care that you have showered me over the past 10 years, even though I had an ‘affair’ during this time!”

Elva said that she had the good company of those from then EMI Music, which was re-grouped to become Gold Typhoon. Together, they had achieved spectacular results. Gold Typhoon not only cared about Elva, they had also made Elva a media and endorsement darling. The record company had always provided full support during Elva’s events, they were with her at various chapters of her career, from an up and coming singer to the Asian pop diva that Elva is now!

Witnessed by the Asian media, Elva renewed her contract with Gold Typhoon for a period of two years, at a rooftop garden. Last year, Elva held the press conference for her album, Diamond Candy, in the same building. To signify that she had risen to a higher level, the reception was held at the roof top. It was considered a leather wedding anniversary as Elva’s last contract with Gold Typhoon was for a period of 3 years. Therefore, Elva wore a white leather wedding gown for the reception. Together with Gold Typhoon’s CEO (Greater China and Taiwan) Joanna, they renewed their “vows” for a period of 2 years.

Joanna said “Everyone could see the efforts that Elva has put in over the years. I thank her for giving Gold Typhoon the opportunity to be with her over the past 10 years. We are glad that we can continue to be with her for the next two years of her career. We also hope that her upcoming album, Miss Elva, would deliver superb results!”

Elva Sells Miss Elva in Luminous Store

Pre-order sales of Elva's 11th album, Miss Elva, have reached more than 40,000 in 10 days. To celebrate the success of her album, Elva's record company, Gold Typhoon, tied up with Taiwan record store, Rose Records, to sell the album one day earlier than the release date, and the store was specially revamped to become a luminous store!

Besides the luminous lights in the store, Elva's NT$300,000 glowing outfit in her music video was also showcased in the store.

As the album was out of stock in the store, the record company had to specially source for additional 200 copies from other areas. Those who bought the album on that day had their album signed by Elva in luminous colour and got the chance to taste the ice cream made by Elva. With such a great deal, the 200 copies were sold within 5 minutes! Elva said happily "Because I'm still dieting, I can't eat the ice cream. But my fans will be able to enjoy it!"

Elva Meets Jolin and Stefanie

Elva, Jolin and Stefanie Sun finally got the chance to catch up at a recent Mid Autumn Festival concert in China. The last time the trio got together was in 2005, when they gathered to watch Korean star, Rain's concert.

The pop divas talked about everything under the sun, from dieting tips to shopping. Standing next to Jolin and Stefanie, Elva appeared to be a size larger than the two of them. "I'm going to collect protection fees!" Elva joked. They also had monikers for themselves - Miss Elva, Sexy Lin and Beauty Zi.

Miss Elva Celebratory Autograph Session

Elva held a celebratory autograph session yesterday (25 Sep) at Ximending, Taipei, for the impressive sales of her album, Miss Elva, released on 24 Sep. The album sold more than 300,000 copies within one day in Asia, and just in Taiwan the album sold 55,819 copies. The music video of Miss Elva also attracted more than 215,000 hits within 14 days of its debut on YouTube.

Elva was pleased with the results of the album, “I had put in a lot of effort into the production of the album. And I thank everyone for giving me your support. I hope that this album would be a totally new beginning for my career!”

The autograph session was postponed to yesterday due to typhoon warnings. Elva was especially grateful that the weather was fine, and said that she had prayed the night before for good weather, “I felt that my company’s decision to postpone the autograph session is a wise one, because many people in Tainan were affected by the typhoon. As an artist, I would be glad to go to Tainan soon to bring happiness to everyone there!”

Her record company, Gold Typhoon, specially tailored a slick jumpsuit for Elva, taking inspiration from Uma Thurman in the movie, Kill Bill. (The suit reportedly costs a whopping 6-figure sum.) But under the 31 degrees weather, Elva felt extremely hot in her outfit, saying that she might have released more than 1kg of perspiration!

When asked about her love life, Elva replied “I’m glad that many of friends have found their other half. But I’m putting my career first. I will let nature take its course, and I don’t deny that there are suitors!”

To thank Elva’s fans for their support, those who had bought the album were entitled to a free poster at the event. For those who had pre-order, the record company also gave a free “Miss Elva” MV DVD!

Miss Elva Sold 75,326 copies in 10 days!

In just 10 days of its release, sales of Elva’s latest album, “Miss Elva” have exceeded expectations, clinching top position in7 music charts in Taiwan. Elva’s record company, Gold Typhoon, specially held an event in an ice cream parlour to celebrate the album’s sweet success! “I’m really happy, and I thank everyone who had brought “Miss Elva” to every part of the world!” Elva said.

The album did better than Elva’s last album, Diamond Candy, which took the top position for 12 charts after 26 days of its release. “Knowing that the album has done well has made me extremely happy even amidst my busy schedule. This is a new beginning after my first ten years. I glad to say that Miss Elva is ready!”

To reflect the sweet dreamy feel of her 3rd music video, Rhapsody, Gold Typhoon engaged a magician to produce her sales figures out of nothing! When it was announced that her album had sold 75,326 copies, Elva was very grateful for those who had supported her and was amazed by the performance “The magician is so cool. No wonder Jay Chou likes to perform magic. I could try it too during my next concert!”

To thank her fans, Elva specially created mixed flavor ice cream consisting of mango, strawberry and vanilla flavor for her fans. Her record company also made an exception, allowing her to eat the ice cream with the rest of her fans, despite wanting her to watch her weight. “I don’t usually eat sweet stuff, but I would be very happy every time I eat it. I especially love sorbet!”

Elva Promotes Equality in Love

The 4th music video from Elva's latest album, Miss Elva, was released early this week. Titled "Let Me Fly In", the music video showed that love can transcends genders, and encouraged everyone to be who they really were and not conform to societal norms.

There were two version of the music video, the "Ice Breaker" version and the "Rainbow" version, released on 12 and 14 Oct respectively on Channel V and MTV channel. As the music video was rated mature theme, the video could not be shown during family hours from 5pm to 9pm daily. Hearing this news, Elva immediately requested for the music videos to be uploaded on Gold Typhoon's website.

After the loss of her mum early this year, Elva had showed more care towards her friends. She wanted to let everyone know that love is equal through the song. "I believe that any love should not be discriminated as long as no one is hurt!"

Elva is Most Popular Female Singer at MTV Music Awards

Elva attended the CCTV-MTV Music Award in Beijing on 18 Oct, together with other artistes such as A-Mei, Hebe, Na Ying, David Tao and Lin Jun Jie. Elva won the coveted Most Popular Female Singer - Hong Kong/Taiwan.

Although it was drizzling at the red carpet event, Elva wore a black mini dress paired with fish-bone stilettos. She also sang her latest single "Miss Elva" for the first time in China.

Backstage, Elva had the opportunity to meet with Korean pop group, 2PM. She also met A-Mei, and was extremely envious when she saw how thin A-Mei was. Although A-Mei commented that Elva was thin too, Elva felt a little guilty as she had just ate roast duck during her promotional trip in China.

Elva Becomes an Empress for a Day

A press conference was held in Beijing, China for Elva latest album, Miss Elva. To celebrate the spectacular sales of her album in Asia, her recor company specially ordered a royal chair, symbolising her status as the Empress of Chinese pop music.
