Now, I imagine most of you who are reading this thread have no idea who Jake Shimabukuro is, but be prepared to be blown away by the fastest fingers in hawaii.  A master of the ukulele, Jake's ability is nothing short of amazing and he expertly shows how beautiful this woefully underrated instrument can be.  Just watch this link to hear his version of George Harrison's "While My Guitar Gently Weeps".

I briefly got to see a performance of his at the international festival this week in daytona, and I was planning on going to see him again this weekend, but I just found out he left today for a show in japan on monday.  While he's a relatively unknown independent artist in the states, he has a fairly successful major label contract with Sony Music in japan.  I'm gonna check a few music stores in the area for his albums and then order them online if unsuccessful.  His official website is here and his bio is here if you care to learn more about Jake.  Now, if you excuse me, I'm going to go watch "While My Ukulele Gently Weeps" again.

Wow, this guy really is amazing.  Right after watching I had to look for the song but couldn't find any active torrents with it available.  George Harisson huh...maybe I'll head over to Futureshop so I can preview the cd and then not buy it...hahah

I wonder how much practice he's had for such incredibly fasts hands.
