The very first before I even knew what anime was was 'nausicca vally of the wind' or however you spell it. This was an OLD import and it was on tv. Way before a real release. I am talking when I was like 10 or something. I am 31 now

so yea. Then after that it was Akira, I think the first release. Late 80's? Early 90's? I was like whoa!! cartoon boobies. I was early teen then as well! It was awesome!

after that i remember dragonball.
my first anime that i downloaded was Snow Queen.

The probably first cartoon as knew was an "anime" I watched is "Attack No. 1" (in my country called "Mila superstar") but there are several other "anime" like Samurai Pizza Cats I watched before but didn't know they are from Japan or something like that... so I dunno what exactly the first anime is because I was too young to remember olol.

Sailor Moon when I was like 8 or something. I called it "specially drawn cartoons" cause I could tell it apart from the regular cartoons (dunno how. =S)
I also watched Pokémon when it came a few years later, if you call that an anime.

The first i anime watched when I really know that it was an anime, was... hm... what was it again... arghh...
I think it was Peach Girl actually.

I saw Sailor Moon when I was still a teenager and never knew about anime..

that all changed when I watched Ghost in the Shell

mine was Ribbon no kishi... no, not the musical, the real one. And I was about four and fell in love with it. Then it was Nausica and a bunch of other studio gibli stuff like Kiki's delivery service and others whose names I can't recall right now.

Then of course, just like any other normal little girl I became somewhat addicted to Sailor Moon. My fave was sailor Uranus. Not just cause of the name

but she had a freakin sword! Everyone else had those wimpy little rods, she had a freakin sabre!

Then it was Shin chan and Pokemon, Digimon and other 10 year old stuff (tenish.. not exactly ten... maybe 12... nah not that old.. but I was into them as soon as they came out)

also, did I mention care bears and my little pony there? I was ga ga over them as a todler! Also Barbie ads

since she had no movies when I was a kid. Then I just watched Nick and Disney toons as well as loony tunes. God knows how many times I've seen Fantasia and Fantasia 2000.

I also watched the goofy movies.. dunno if it counts.. and many many Mickey mouse toons as well as other Disney stuff.. what else? I used to watch Zoids, avatar and Gundam wing when I was like 14-15 somewhere around there.. I can't remember anything else..

But I remember that without a doubt my fave and earliest memory of toons is Ribbon no Kishi

I think it was "Alps no Shōjo Heidi" ... there I was arround 6 years old

... but this time I didn´t consider this as an anime. The first Anime, which I considered as one, was Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon! That´s the time I have starting watch more Anime!

I'm pretty sure mine was Speed Racer.

Then Sailor Moon, which actually lead me to discover what anime was. And cleaned out any allowance money I got.

The first anime I watched was Ringing Bell/Chirin no Suzu, in English. The first anime series I watched was Sailor Moon.

Robotech reruns in 1989. I was four but I remember watching it. Probably some Voltron in there, too.

When I was 14 I noticed the DBZ phenomenon but wasn't into it. Gundam Wing dragged me in just a bit deeper, but it was not until I borrowed a friends VHS tape of Gundam 0083 that I saw how awesome this stuff could be. I looked into some shows, and bought the first VHS of Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040, and that show got me hooked on anime for good. So yeah, 90 series later according to my ANN watch list, here I am.

Does that count? I used to watch that every morning before catching the school bus.

I think it used to play on the SciFi channel; Thunderbirds came on right after it.

It's hard to remember the very first anime I watched... I remember trying to watch Sailor Moon just to see Haruka.

Being from Hawaii, I would have to say (don't laugh now)...Candy Candy, a girly cartoon from what I remember and Raideen. I was more into the live action stuff like Kamen Rider V3, Battle Fever J, Rainbow Man...etc.
