Title: Americans:Stoping the Copyright Alert System
Post by: jigenbakuda on March 03, 2013, 03:45:26 PM
If you are an American listen up as this pertains to you. The Internet Service Providers (that already refuse to give us a shadow of S.korea, european, or japanese internet speeds, despite america inventing the internet when they both could afford it and it being the morally right thing to do) have decided that they will by themselves implement a Copyright Alert System that they will use to hamstring your connection. There is a petition that is going to the white house to stop this. We stopped SOPA so we can do this too. Every signature counts!  If you would like to sign, please sign up at this link.

Also, if you're lucky enough to live in an area with service available from an ISP that isn't owned by the big 5 I suggest trying to switch companies if you can. A good way to send a message is to vote with your wallet and encourage real competition. Wave/Astound (which is what I'm using) is a good alternative for NorCal/Washington/Oregon users, and if you live in the Kansas City area you have Google Fiber.
