Chapter 3: Oshiri, MelonPan and Photography Club ‘I can’t believe it!’ Sae and Yuki where both walking back to their own classroom, when suddenly Yuki’s mood changed. She does not really know what to say and how she would react a while ago. Of the entire club she would choose, why would it be the same as Watanabe Mayu, which she also joined? The gods must be love mocking our dear Kashiwagi Yuki.
‘Can’t believe what?’ Sae asked Yuki.
‘That I joined the same club that creepy joined.’
‘Do you like her?’ Sae asked Yuki out of the blue. Yuki on the other hand, was taken aback by Sae’s unexpected question, and gave her Yuki’s famous exaggerated expressions’. After able to function back, Yuki hold Sae’s both shoulder and wave her back and forth, and said, ‘What? Did I hear your question, correctly? Sae are you insane?’
‘Well because you’ve been talking about her since yesterday!’ Sae smirked and repeat Mayu’s name in front of Yuki.
‘You are by no mistake insane, Sae. You had better consult a psychologist or a psychiatrist whatever they call it. Why would you even ask such a funny question? Not funny as in Ha-ha but a total weird question. I cannot even look directly to her eyes because I can help but think she will eat me alive. They are no ways I could like her. Yuki exclaimed in such a hurry and trembling tone.
‘I do not need a doctor. I’m fine and well.’ Sae just laughed in Yuki’s speech.
A quick glance on Yuki’s wristwatch and they found out that it is already the end of lunch break and it was already time for their last subject. Instead of be able to have a lunch, Yuki and Sae head over their classroom to attend their last subject. During the discussions, Sae’s tummy growled clearly that made Yuki laugh. Sae was like a dead corpse lying down her desk begging for food. Yuki gritted her teeth, making a small laughs. She kept on holding her laughs as their last subject end. It would be bad if the sensei saw them and that would get them in trouble, like detention.
‘It’s your fault that we haven’t taken a lunch!’ Sae said madly as she rubbed her growling tummy. ‘My gorilla pets inside is already begging for foods.’
‘Would you expect me to memorize all the buildings here in just one and a half day?’ When Yuki lost her way to the student council, it took her minutes before she could see the student council room. Thanks to Sayaka which she gave Yuki a big help.
‘This school only has 3 buildings.’ Sae explained, ‘First, building A is where all the high school student rooms and canteens are located. Second, building K is where the faculty, multi-purpose hall, computer rooms, laboratory, and other office related rooms. Lastly, building B is where all the clubrooms, gym, swimming pool and the school’s clinic are located. You did read your student manual book that they gave us yesterday, did you?’ Sae heaved a sigh after explaining.
‘Yeah, yeah,’ Yuki response not even giving her hundred percent attentions to what Sae explained. ‘How about we head over to Photography Club now, shall we?’
‘Why would I need to go with you?’
‘You know where it is located. Yuki responded. ‘I don’t want to get lost in this school and besides I need to go home early after this school. I’ll treat you after this as a payment.’
‘Treat? You have to be kidding me! You can’t even afford to buy your own parfait and you’d always beg me to buy you instead.’
‘Oh, just wait till I get myself a part-time job! And I’ll double the parfait you had bought me!’
‘Hopeless cold penny-less with no sense of direction person,’ Sae just murmured quietly, not want to argue more.

After their mini arguments, Sae eventually help Yuki on her way to Photography Club. Sae was busy browsing her student manual book to locate where the club is. ‘According to this book, the Photography Club room number is B305,’ Sae explained as she flipped a page, ‘it should be around the 3rd floor of building B.’ Yuki nodded and they used the stairs and head over third floor. On their way, they met Mayu who was also on her way to the club. Sae asked Mayu if she had found the club, she answered no. Moreover, Sae invited Mayu to walk with them instead of being alone. Mayu did not hesitate and joined them.
‘B303… B304… B305… Ah, we’re here.’ Sae pointed to the number hanging in the door. ‘I guess I’ll be heading back now. I need to go to my club too. Catch you guys later.’ Sae excuses herself to both Mayu and Yuki.
‘Sure and thanks,’ Yuki said and waved her hand, ‘Let’s meet later after the club activities.’ In addition, Mayu also thanked Sae.
After Sae had gone, Yuki looked at Mayu and gave her wry smile as she knocked at the door. After the knock, the door slid quickly and a sudden popping sound came out, it was confetti. An idol-like song began to play like there is a party inside. Two girls greeted them and put a party hat on their heads, a short and a tall one also wearing party hats.
‘Welcome freshies! Welcome to Oshiri Club!’ A squirrel-looking short girl with dimples welcomed them.
‘Nope, Welcome to Melon Pan Club! Where all melon pan lover gathers! The tall girl holding a melon pan said that made both Yuki and Mayu surprised. Did they just enter the wrong club? They just stared blankly in front of them as they watch the two girls who greeted them, argued with one another.
‘It’s Oshiri!’
‘Melon Pan!’
‘O-SHI-RI!’
‘ME-LON-PAN!’
WHAM! WHAM! A big paper fan appeared behind the both of them and hit them miraculously. ‘Ouch,’ they scream in pain and rubbed there head. ‘Suits you two idiots, well,’ a familiar voice said. It was Takamina in blue apron.
‘Ah, Kashiwagi-san and Watanabe-san, welcome to Photography Club,’ Acchan went to them. ‘I’m so sorry for the greeting before. I assure that won’t happen again, right Yuko and Rena?’ Acchan eyes grew wider, a death glare to both Yuko and Rena in which they felt chills and just nodded nervously. ‘Anyway, Kashiwagi-san and Watanabe-san, please go inside. Cakes and teas are waiting for you.’
The room was opposite to how the student council looks like. It was rather plain and was designed with party designs. Acchan and Takamina explained that they were having a welcoming party for them and they were helping Yuko and Rena. ‘Now I see why there are some party designs here.’ Muttered by Yuki as she scanned the place.
Without realizing, Yuko walked behind the both of them as they were busy talking to Acchan and Takamina. ‘Oshima Yuko desu~! Class 2-A. Nice oshiri you two got here.’ Yuko surprise Mayu and Yuki as she grabbed and squeeze their butts.
SQUEEZE. SQUEEZE. ‘Kyaa!’ Mayu screamed and blushed. On the other hand, Yuki’s hands automatically slapped Yuko’s face from surprise. ‘I’ll kill you,’ she even said, accidentally revealing her cold and black-hearted side. Yuko cried and rubbed her red cheeks. ‘I’m sorry! I didn’t do it on purpose!’ Yuki explained.
‘Not your fault Kashiwagi-san. You did it perfectly. Serve her right.’ Takamina laughed.
Acchan moved at the back of Yuko. Her aura suddenly became different, not the usual calm and cheery president but a deadly python. ‘Have you forgotten? What did you promised?’ Acchan said slowly with a serious tone and deadly glare. Yuko quickly run behind Rena and apologize nervously.
‘I – a… I am really sorry. I’m also one of the victims of Yuko’s perverseness, so worry not. Matsui Rena from class 2–A the vise-president by the way, and this pervert is Yuko the president.’ Yuko smiled and waved her hands in fear as Acchan was watching her moves.
‘Oh, just ignore that perverted midget Oji-san,’ Takamina cuts in.
Yuko’s eyebrow furrowed. ‘Ha? Midget? The only midget here is you!’ Yuko moved away from Rena’s back, pointed at Takamina with a striking pose, and laughed loud. ‘Gyahaha! TakaMidget! That should be your nickname! TakaSmall or even TakaShort!’
‘Why! You, pervert Oji-san!’ Takamina move near the window and tried to get the balloons that are hanging at the edge, but was not able to get hold of it in which Yuko laughed more loudly.
‘Oh, geez. A midget battle, again. They never stopped fighting over their heights. Why won’t they just drink milk, instead?’ Acchan sighed at the scene.
‘Another?’ Yuki asked. ‘Does this mean this wasn’t the first time?’
‘Yup. Nobody cannot stop them once they started. I can’t even stop the both of them.’ Acchan explained as all of them watched the two fought. They watched from the corner of the room. Rena offered them a melon pan, and they grabbed some and eat it with their tea. ‘It’s good to eat melon pan while watching some midget fight, you know,’ Rena remarked.
Back to the battle, Takamina jumped repeatedly until she reached the balloon and hurried walked behind the busy-laughing Yuko. She did not notice Takamina.
POP Yuko laughs slowly stopped as she heard a sudden balloon pop. She panicked.
POP Takamina popped another popping balloon that made Yuko lost her composure.
‘Balloons!’ Yuko shouted in fear. ‘How’d you get those?’ Yuko was sweating hard as she stared at Takamina’s hands.
‘None of your business, squirrel!’
‘Even if you pop those balloons nothing will change the fact that you’re a midget! I’m still taller than you, Takamini!’
‘I don’t care! I’m still going to pop these remaining balloons!’
‘Uh-oh looks like Takamina is starting to face reality that she’s shorter than Yuko.’ Rena said while munching her melon pan.
‘Who cares?’ Acchan sighed. ‘Just let them finished their non-sense battle.’
Takamina continue to pop the remaining balloons near Yuko. In contrast, Yuko could not move from her place and just covered her ears. Her eyes are almost filled with tears and would likely want to ask for a help from the others, but Takamina popped the last balloon she have.
‘Kyaa… I… Think… I’m going to die…’ Yuko’s last words before she fainted, and raised a white flag and waved it.
‘Ha! Who’s the midget now?’ Takamina stick her tongue out and did a victory pose.
TING. TING. TING.‘Seems like Yuko fainted in the battle.’ Rena said.
‘At least battle of the midgets finally ended.’ Acchan said and face-palmed.
