Yeaaaassssssssssss, I'm going to start a new story! I know I have 5 fics ongoing but I just can't resist this idea that keeps on pestering me from a month ago, so I finally decided to write it down.

And thanks to fluorescentCat, I was wrecking my brain off for a name, then I saw you and I thought, 'hey! Why don't I use fluorescent? It's a nice word!'. So, yeap.

And here it is, The Fluorescent Dreams!

Prologue

Ever heard of the Fluorescent Lands? Nope? Let me tell you.

It is the most horrible decision mankind has ever made.

Why?

In a few hundred years from now, humans had made contact with extraterrestrial creatures from Mars. Was it a good relationship? No. The creatures of Mars are much smarter, more developed, and etc.

It all started well, we exchanged words, shared technology and knowledge with our new friend, let's just call them the aliens. Until one day they seem to have learned that our human race is puny, helpless little cry babies trapped on earth.

They demonstrated their power by completely annihilating one country out from the face of the earth. Terrified, we earthlings have proposed a treaty with the aliens.

The treaty was named; The Fluorescent Vow.

In it, it was described that in order for the aliens to accept peace and not attack the earth anymore, they require something 'fun' to watch. Something that can entertain them when they're bored. From it, the Fluorescent Lands are born.

It was a huge dome located in Mars. Inside it, was something made to look like the lands from earth, with everything slightly more advanced. Humans can live inside it, since the aliens made it just for them.

Now, back to the treaty problem.

Keep at least 10,000 human in the Fluorescent Lands and we shall be satisfied.

It was written that way, and the 10,000 people was forcefully taken away from their planet.

How's life in the Fluorescent Lands, you ask?

It's a game.

A game of life, where each of your actions are observed by the aliens. But of course, they're being tolerant by letting some 'special' humans go home.

What do I mean by special?

Well, in the Fluorescent Lands, you are given a band on your wrist with just one button on it. If you press it, a screen would be projected from the band and it would display the owner's current value.

It would look like this:

What does it mean? Points is a currency in the Fluorescent Lands, in short, it's everything that matters to them. Why? Once a human has collected 100,000 points, he/she will be returned to earth along with 1 person of choice. Then the aliens will abduct someone else randomly to replace them.

Where does one get points? Simple. You be smart, do missions, live gloriously, but if you can't, there's still a lot of ways to gain them. Like for example:

- A successful pickpocket is +1
- Winning a fight is +1
- Helping someone cross the road is +1
- Completing a mission is +10

Most of the action that gives you profit or that which gives you popularity, gives you points. But there are cases like:

- Getting robbed is -1
- Heartbroken is -1
- Losing a fight is -1

But the ones that did that to you, will gain a point. The ones that robbed you, the ones that hit you, and etc. Which is why the society in The Fluorescent Lands are ruled by Points.

The land has everything a society ever needs, people that are polices, people that choose the criminal way, and people that are the ordinary ones, living to collect points in their daily lives.

But some of the others, the persistent ones, who fought every day and night doing mission for the sake of collecting points. They are called the Freedom Squad.

Each month, the Freedom Squad would distribute some points that they have acquired among the citizens. In return, they don't have to pay for food, housing, and etc. By the way, in buying each little thing, points are used as currency. And if your points go under 0, you will instantly die.

One can transfer their points to other people by their own free will, but forcing people to transfer points to you could lead you to a execution punishment, or so the aliens say.

Leader
Oshima Yuko (22)
The most powerful mission clearer in The Fluorescent Lands, obsessed with Kojima Haruna.

Vice-Leader
Minami Takahashi (21)
Yuko's right hand, always reliable anytime anywhere. Fails a lot around Maeda Atsuko.
Value: 19,000 Points


Medic
Kojima Haruna (22)
Medical genius but is an airhead most of the time, spaces out a lot. Very tsundere and acts differently when alone with Yuko.
Value: 18,000 Points

Scout
Matsui Jurina (17)
Although she's very young, she is known for her agility and wit, thus making her the perfect scouter in the team. Somewhat attached to Matsui Rena.
Value: 16,000 Points


Intel
Watanabe Mayu (18)
Computer freak, she has massive amount of information in her head and her pc. Loves Kashiwagi Yuki but doesn't show it.
Value: 17,000 Points


Gunner
Maeda Atsuko (21)
Highly skilled shooter, likes to be in the front like Yuko. Has a Takamina complex.
Value: 18,000 Points


Sniper
Kashiwagi Yuki (19)
High marksmanship, excellent hit rate. Usually covers the team. Has a thing for Watanabe Mayu.
Value: 18,000 Points


Bomber
Matsui Rena (20)
The madman of the squad, likes to blow things up. Has an eerie laugh that turns everyone off. Somewhat attached to Matsui Jurina.
Value: 18,000 Points

There you have it, our Freedom Squad. Now let's move on to the story, shall we?

Takamina opens a door that leads to Yuko's room, she pops her head in, "Yukooooooo!"
Yuko is sitting on a couch in front of the TV, munching her chips. She responded without turning to Takamina, "What is it, minimidget? I'm busy."

Takamina comes in and was shocked to see what her leader was watching, she hit Yuko's head in reflex and looks away from the screen, "Yuko you idiot! No one watches yuri porn in broad daylight while munching chips! You're insane!"

Yuko clenched her head, it hurts. She then looks at Takamina, annoyed, "I'm not insane! I'm healthy! And I like yuri! I mean why not? Check out that breasts and ass", she points to one of the girl in the movie.

Takamina sighs, "You're helpless..."

The squad leader scoffs and looks back at the screen, "Whatever... so, what did you came here for? Shouldn't you be with Atsuko?"

"She wandered off somewhere, I don't know. And shouldn't you be with Haruna? It's better than sitting on the couch lazily watching porn."

Yuko sighs, "I tried to go to her room and she slammed the door on my face"

Chuckling, Takamina said, "That's what you get for being perverted with her"

Yuko shrugged, "Oh please, she's just having her mood swings, or period, or I don't know. Usually she's not like that"

Takamina squinted her eyes, "Usually she would have slapped you in the face or hit you on your head, you know"

Yuko laughs, "No, no, you got it all wrong... usually by this kind of time we would be on her bed making love, hot and electric love~"

"Yeah. You wish, Yuko. You wish. Now get ready and meet me in our meeting room, we are going to do a mission, I have gathered the others"

Yuko pouts, "Eehhhh?! But I want to have sex! No sex no mission!"

"Yuko stop being childish!"

"SEX OR NO MISSION! TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT!"

"Fine, I'll go talk to Haruna", Takamina sighs and leaves the room.

Yuko giggled and resumed watching her R rated movie, "Works everytime~"

Takamina slams the door when she got out, and the squirrel keeps on laughing.

Knock knock.

"Haruna? I'm coming in...", Takamina sheepishly stepped in Haruna's room. She found the tall girl napping peacefully on her couch. She felt guilty knowing that she has to wake this cute sleeping princess up.

Takamina crouched and played with Haruna's cheek, "Harunaaaa, wakey wakey!"

It kind of worked as the medic is fluttering her eyes open. Though awake, she squints her eyes and looks at Takamina, "What do you want?"

Takamina gulped, Haruna is like an angry cat cause you disturbed her nap, "U-um, Yuko wants you... or she won't do any missions..."

"....", Haruna seems to process what Takamina said, then after a while, she lazily stood up and groans, "That idiot..."

Takamina stood straight too, and goes for the door, "How long do you guys need? The others are probably in the meeting room already"

Haruna glares at Takamina, making the short girl gulps again. Then she sighs, "Yuko and I will be there in five"

Takamina hurriedly excused herself out of Haruna's room, "Okay then, great! See you there!"

(Meeting Room)

Takamina enters the meeting room and was greeted by the whole squad. They're sitting around an oval table, with Yuko's chair at the end of the table, the typical leader's spot.

Mayu beside Yuki, Jurina and Rena across them. Then Atsuko beside Yuki.

Jurina smiles, "Sup, Takamina! Where's leader?"

Takamina seats herself beside Rena, across Atsuko, "She's with Haruna, they'll be here soon"

Mayu leans back on her seat and exhaled, "sigh... I bet they're having sex...", and she popped a gum into her mouth and starts to chew on it.

Takamina shakes her head, disagreeing, "I don't think so... Haruna will push her off with a slap or a smack, you know, her usual reactions"

Mayu rolled her eyes, "Riiiiight...", and continues to chew on her gum. 'If only you know how she behaves around Yuko when they're alone, too bad I'm keeping their special footage to myself... for blackmail purposes'

Takamina sighs, Mayu could be so cold sometimes. Well that's normal coming from a 'cyborg', a nickname that she has since she came here.

"Well then, they'll be here soon, right?", this time, it was Rena who asked.

When Takamina was about to say something, Yuko comes in. Followed by Haruna.

"Heya, sorry for being late", Yuko innocently sits on her usual leader's seat. Everyone was smiling ear to ear holding their laugh seeing the fresh, red hand print on both of Yuko's cheeks.

Haruna took a seat beside Atsuko and both greeted each other with a smile.

Yuko took a deep breath and exhaled, "Alright, let's get started then!"

HEHEHEHE, hello everyone~ ENJOY THE UPDATE~

Chapter 1

"What missions are available, Mayu?", Yuko turned to Mayu, her usual reliable source of information.

Mayu has her annoyed expression like usual, plus the gum chewing habit, she looks like a gangster. She stood up and slides a rectangular looking pad into the middle of the table, and it projected a list.

- The Hydra (Barren Lands)
- Prison Break (Jupiter)*
- Giant Bugs (Megalomesembria Sewers)

a/n : * means special mission

Everyone looks at the list and Haruna let out an eww when she saw the third option.

Option number two caught Yuko's interest, "It's been a while since there's a special mission, right? Mayu, details please."

Mayu rolled her eyes and did something so now the pad on the table projects out a few picture of the aliens that kidnaps them.

"This was just in this morning, basically we just need to free them from the Jupiter's prison, and bring them safely back here"

Yuko furrowed her eyebrows "Hmm... sounds tough? What's in for us if we help those bastards free their kind?"

Mayu scoffs, "Heh, you bet. Jupiter Prison is the most heavily guarded prison in the whole universe. Breaking inside would be hard, and rescuing those prisoners would make it harder."

Takamina interrupted, "It's risky."

Mayu looks at Takamina from the corner of her eyes and chews her gum few times before saying, "It's worth the reward."

Jurina smirks, "How much?"

Mayu flashed her usual victory smile and looks at everyone, "The usual ten points PLUS fifty additional points for each of us."

Yuko's eyes widened, she then smirks and slammed the table in excitement, "We're taking it!"

Takamina groans, "Yuko it's dangerous!"

Mayu interrupts, "I kinda have the Jupiter Prison's building layout, you can devise a breakthrough plan from there."

Yuko's smile grows wider, "Excellent! Show me!"

Mayu smiles, she touched her rectangular pad and it projects the Jupiter Prison's building layout.

It looks like a huge egg, oval shaped building with only 1 entrance point, the front. There's no Windows, nothing, completely covered, just like an eggshell.

"Hmm, how hard are those walls?", Yuko sounds annoyed.

"Well, a lot of people tried to make a hole there, no one ever succeeded. I suggest we go throught the front, that's the only way in", at the end of her sentence, Mayu smiles.

Atsuko chuckles, "I like your idea, Mayu. We charge head on, get in, save the prisoner, and get out."

Takamina retorts immediately, "You're crazy, it's too risky!"

Yuko seems to think about something while Atsuko, Mayu and Takamina is arguing about the squad's safety. Meanwhile, Haruna is spacing out, Yuki is awkwardly looking around, and Jurina is smiling while watching them argue.

Then, Yuko slams the table again, gaining everyone's attention. Once all the eyes are on her, she starts speaking, "It's too risky to be charging head on, I don't want to lose any of you. But we are still taking this mission, and we'll go once I have a good plan."

The leader turns to Mayu, "Mayu, what's the teleport location the aliens gave us?"

"They can't have access anywhere near the prison, there's a teleport barrier up and running, so the aliens can only teleport us to the nearest city, which is 30 minutes away from the prison."

Yuko turns to Jurina, "JuJu, get your scouting equipments ready, we'll explore around the area tomorrow, Takamina and Yuki, you guys are coming too."

The leader turns to Mayu, "Mayu I need more information, anything that can help us get in without being noticed."

Mayu nods.

Then she turns to Rena, "Rena, I need you to kite some really powerful explosives, I have a feeling that we will need to blow a lot of things up."

Rena laughs her usual eerie laugh, "Got it~"

Now it's Atsuko's turn, Yuko looks at her and smiles, "You just need a lot of ammo, Atsuko. We'll be firing at those small fries all day long."

Yuko turned to Yuki, but Yuki spoke first, "I know. Be on the lookout and protect everyone's ass."

Yuko smiles, "Yup. You're the best, Yuki."

Lastly, she turns to Haruna, "Nyannyan stay here, okay? I don't want you to get hurt..."

Haruna rolled her eyes, "I don't want your worry, I can take care of myself just fine."

Yuko sighs, "Alright... so JuJu, Yuki and Takamina shall come with me tomorrow, the rest should wait for my plan. Dismissed!"

Rena stood and walks away happily, giggling, "Ehehehe, bombs~ bombs~"

Jurina quickly follows Rena out of the room, just like a puppy.

Atsuko stood up and looks at Takamina, "Minami, come with me"

Takamina gulps, but she obeyed anyways, "O-okay...", then the both of them went out the room.

Mayu continued chewing her gum and walked out the room like a boss, while Yuki politely excused herself out of the room not long after her cyborg has left.

Now Yuko and Haruna is the only one left.

Haruna looks at Yuko, "Yuko can you please lock the door?"

Yuko proceeds to do so, and the door clicked. Then she walks over to Haruna, "What's the matter?"

Haruna pats her lap, "Come sit here"

Yuko sits on the taller girl's lap and circled her arms around Haruna's neck, she smiles, "What is it, Nyannyan?"

Haruna hugs the girl on her lap by the waist and pulled her closer, touching their bodies together, "This mission seems dangerous, Yuko..."

Yuko pats Haruna's head, "It's okay, Nyannyan... I'll be okay... this mission will be easy as cake!"

Haruna pouts, "Still, how can I not worry when you'll be the one in front. Promise me you won't do anything stupid..."

Yuko giggles, "Hai, I promiseeee~"

Haruna smiles softly, and Yuko leaned in to give a peck on the taller girl's lips. Seeing there's no reaction from her Nyannyan, Yuko smirks, "Does this means we can have sex tonight?"

SLAP! , Haruna slapped Yuko's cheek.

"Yuko! You just had to ruin every moment with your... sex addiction! And NO! I will never have sex with you!"

Yuko held her cheek which is now stinging with pain from the hearty slap Haruna gave her, "B-b-but! We hug and we kiss! I just wanted something to deepen our bond..."

Haruna folds her hands and pouts, "Hugs and kisses are normal! Plus I don't want to 'deepen' our bond! I'll end up getting raped... by you!"

Yuko sighs, "Okay... okay... a hug then, let's just hug", and the leader hugs the sensitive cat, and one of her hand guides Nyannyan's head to rest between Yuko's chest.

Haruna unfolds her hand and circled them around the smaller girl, then she rubbed her cheeks slowly on Yuko's chest, enjoying the feels. Yuko kissed Haruna's head and strokes her hair gently.

A while later, Haruna had fallen asleep but her grip on Yuko's waist is still as tight as ever, and Yuko is still on her lap, providing her lovely medic with breast pillow. Yuko, realized that her Nyannyan has dozed off, giggled. 'Awake or asleep... you're still beautiful beyond measures, Nyannyan...'

(Mayu's room)

Mayu is sitting in front of her super computer, typing something that no one knows anything about. She has already threw out the gum since there's no flavor left.

Knock knock.

Mayu rotates her chair to face the door, "Come in"

Yuki shyly opened the door and let herself in, "Mayu, are you busy?"

Mayu stood up from her chair and went to sit on the couch in the middle of her room, "No, not really. What do you need, Yuki? Come sit down."

Yuki sits herself beside Mayu but there's this awkward gap between them. "I don't need anything in particular... I just feel a little lonely, that's all..."

"Why?", Mayu looks at her shy friend.

Yuki sighed, she looked down and fiddled with her fingers, "Well, I dreamt about my family last night... and it makes me miss them... I wonder how are they doing on earth..."

Mayu leans back on her couch, "I'm sure they're doing fine, Yuki..."

Yuki turns to look at the younger girl who seems to be so carefree, "Don't you miss your family, Mayu?"

Mayu avoids eye contact, looking straight forward, "No"

Yuki tilts her head to the side, "Why?"

Mayu rolled her eyes upwards, "Hmm, I don't know... I just don't miss them, and they probably won't miss me too"

Yuki's motherly side awakes as she realizes that the girl beside her is even lonelier than herself, what kind of family did she grow up with? A family that wouldn't miss their own child? That's terrible. Instinctively, she hugged Mayu and pats her head.

Mayu, who's not used to affection from others, flinched slighly from the sudden embrace. She didn't break away though, she just stoned.

When Yuki snapped out of her motherly instincts, her eyes widened and she immediately broke her hug and sets the awkward gap between them once again. "U-um, sorry..."

Mayu put up her straight face because she doesn't know what to do or how to react, "It's fine"

Yuki, embarrassed, got up and dashed for the door, "I should be going, need to check on my sniper rifles, see you later, Mayu"

"Oh, okay... see you later, Yuki"

Yuki left the room. 'Oh my god what am I thinking?! I hugged her out of impulse! And she turned stiff too, sigh... I guess I must've weirded her out... dammit Yuki!'

Meanwhile, Mayu is still sitting on the same spot, thinking about what happened earlier. 'Yuki hugged me... it felt warm, I like it... but why can't I tell her that?'

I'm curious about Mayu's family now, well I guess I'll just have to wait for later chapters

Seems like someone is excited about her assigned task. Considering there will be a lot of explosions involved in the mission.
Its cute how Jurina followed Rena, like a puppy following its master
I wonder how the scouting will go, I hope they'll be okay and what will Yuko's plan be?

But honestly that mission sounds dangerous.... If Yukirin gets found out then there's no cover for the others, if the guys down in the battlefield get found out then game over~

Mayu.... I worry for the cyborg and I hope Yukirin can change that~

Yuko turned to Yuki, but Yuki spoke first, "I know. Be on the lookout and protect everyone's ass."

Yuko smiles, "Yup. You're the best, Yuki."

With Yukirin being the sniper that's all she has to do Protect everyone's asses in battle but then again, she can be an excellent hitwoman if she has to because she has a perfect hit range for a nineteen year old~
