Performed at today's Morning Musume. '16 Concert Tour Aki ~MY VISION~, a new song called "Sou Janai". Makino Maria is center. Song written by Tsunku. Release date is 11/23.

Now that y'all mention it, I am getting some Platinum Era vibes from "Sou Janai"...although a more apt comparison would be Berryz Kobo's "Dakishimete Dakishimete" XD (seriously, it totally sounds like it)

I do like it for those reasons, though...I'm not quite "in love" with the song right off the bat, but I can imagine it'll grow on me as time passes (more listens with better quality and the music video).

Sexy cat is so weird but in a good way XD Fuku, Duu, and Oda's voices go really well together. Also, probably a coincidence, but the cat outfits are kinda similar to a drawing I submitted for the J-Melo thing (the one that led to One and Only).

At first I just thought "oh look an excuse to put the girls in kitty outfits". But now that I see the whole video I realize that they actually have a point. So kudos to them for having a cohesive theme and meaning to their song. And speaking of Kudos, loving that Haruka is one of the centers.

This whole single is a win!

Also it took me an embarrassingly long time (like weeks if you think of when they released the preview to Sou Janai) to realize that the choreography in Sou Janai and Mukidashi de looked weird was because Duu wasn't dancing. Like I was so confused cause I kept counting girls to figure out why they separated them like that till finally I realized she wasn't in the dance shots lol

This is such a solid single. Sexy Cat is fun and funky, Sou Janai is refreshing in that it features Maria (and it's catchy), and Mukidashi is just a great song all around.

I'm anxious to see how this does on the charts.
