Yossie sure does fire the imaginations of a lot of people.

My main three are Ishiyoshi, YoMako and YoMiki in no particular order.

To me, they all have compelling "fan story lines" behind them:

Ishiyoshi == Two girls who are attracted to each other but opposite in every way so they would get together, think "what am I doing?", split apart, and repeat. As they have grown up, they have become more alike in personality, so the relationship has evolved over the years.

YoMaki == The biggest mistake that Yossie ever made in her pimp career was thinking that Makoto was some insubstantial person that she could use for a one night stand and then forget. How was she to know that Makoto not only was an ace acting coach who could help Yossie steal any scene on Hello Morning, but she also had a little something something that always made Yossie want to come back? The spider got caught in her own web. They eventually outgrew such immature games, but they still have a bond that will never be broken.

YoMiki == Poor Miki! Forced apart from Ayaya and forced to join Morning Musume. It's love on the rebound time, but love on the rebound is still love, and underneath "That Fujimoto's" cold exterior beat a heart that only wanted her group mates to improve. Miki's married now, but there are some bonds that transcend marriages.

I went to yesterday's evening Dream Morning Musume concert at NHK Osaka Hall.

One of the MCs was just Mari and Makoto talking. Makoto first told Mari about some dream she had recently, about being back several years ago and trying to join Mini Moni. I don't know how it happened, but somehow that turned into them talking about Yossy.

My Japanese is no where near perfect, but I understood this much:

Makoto: "Yeah, back when we were first in Pucchi Moni together, I wrote Yoshizawa-san this love letter/confession type letter."

(I think she also said she never gave it to Yossy, but I'm not completely sure.)

Mari: "Oh, I wrote one of those too. Yossy just has this aura, doesn't she?"

Makoto was like

and asked Mari when she wrote it. I couldn't really understand what Mari said, unfortunately. It was right after something about Morning Musume. I'm guessing it's like, right after Yossy joined, but the word didn't sound right. Maybe a concert rip will pop up and someone better at Japanese than I can tell us. I also couldn't tell if Mari actually gave it to Yossy or not.

They did talk about how Yossy was probably watching the monitor back stage, and laughingly asked her if she remembered those times.

But that's right: Both Makoto and Mari have apparently written confession-like letters to Yossy.
