[2014.01.08] Iwasa Misaki - 3rd Single "Tomonoura Bojou"

AKB48 member and Enka singer, Iwasa Misaki's third solo single (currently untitled) is set for release on January 8.



Though the details on the title track have not been revealed yet, she will cover AKB48's "Koisuru Fortune Cookie" in Enka version, and it will be included as one of the follow up songs for the single.

Iwasa has previously sung Enka version of "Heavy Rotation" and "Flying Get."

The single will have two versions; limited edition (CD+DVD) and regular edition (CD only).

Other than the Enka version of "Koisuru Fortune Cookie", each edition will also contain a different cover song as the third track; "Ihojin" for the limited edition, and "Akai Sweet Pea" for the regular edition.

Personally I feel this song doesn't have any of the charm and hooks Mujin Eki and even Moshimo have.

Yeah, it was so close to the album release I completely forgot. I think when she debuted she had appeal to the AKB fans due to the newness, but that dropped off for 2nd and 3rd singles and the album. Her last two releases completely passed me by, but I see she's been having loads of events, which also completely passed me by... I could have actually made it to attend at least one of her last set of mini-lives! Doh!

Anyway, I'm surprised with sales numbers like that she can still make #1! Would have been good for a smaller group to release this week and get a high position!

Nightmare got the #1 today while Wasamin dropped to #4.

If this keeps up she will lose the weekly #1...
It also means her total sales so far are less than 6,365.

I hope she has some events planned or she won't even break 10K.

So close!

Couple of things...
- First of all, congrats on getting #1 and being the first and one of the youngest girls to achieve this in many years.
- However, I can't help but feel this is a bit of an empty victory. It's a bit like Watarirouka's only #1 single being Akkanbe Bashi with 27K, just because it was released in a slow week. Considering the sheer amount of events she did and the relatively low sales it does make me worry a bit. Her sales dropped 37%, which seems to be the trend for most solo idol releases. I thought Wasamin might not be affected since she tries to appeal to a different crowd with her enka songs. Does this mean Wasamin's main fan base are regular AKB fans? If that's the case, and it probably is, then Wasamin's career/future success might be less set in stone that she'd like.
- I wouldn't mind seeing her trying to expand a little bit and become the next Mizuka Nana tbh, haha.
