[2013.12.24] Sashihara Rino - 1st Photobook "Neko ni Maketa"

Anybody who watches Sashihara no Ran knew this was coming, but I didn't expect it so soon!

We know it's shot in Okinawa and it features a cat, some goats and those shark whales from the SayoKuro PV!




There has been some discussion whether or not this PB will feature nudity... I highly doubt it will.
Firstly, it's too cheap. if it were a nude Sasshi PB I reckon they'd charge 3800 yen for it. Secondly, it's just to get some hype going.
However! Having said that, there might very well be some risky shots in there.
But from what we've seen so far it seems like a standard, perhaps even cutesy PB. We'll see!

In Japan, they make a distinction between:

写真集 - Shashinshuu = Only photos
フォトブック - Photobook = Photos and text (interviews, essays, etc)

This one is a 写真集 so it will only feature photos.
Her previous release "Sashiko" was a フォトブック as it contained tons of text and photos.

Actually, the sources differ on that. Some say 12-26, but that may be due to Xmas and such.

If you check HMV, they have the release that on the 15th for that Sashi photobook.

Random thoughts:
- Sasshi isn't super model pretty, which gives her that girl next door vibe. That in combination with outfits like in that last pic makes her super sexy somehow 
- Watching Sashihara no Ran shows that they didn't really have a set theme or idea for this PB. It's like "hey, a cat, let's take some pics with it." and "hey, here are some goats, play with them." That sucks because Sasshi isn't even an animal person. I mean, this PB seems like a random Okinawa trip, rather than a document which captures Sasshi's essence. However, that might turn out fun anyway. We'll see.
- I wonder if this is published by the company who did Kingyo and Mimitabu? Same price, same poster concept... If that's the case I might skip it. I'm not a fan of the over-sized PBs with questionable print quality.

Picked it up earlier today.  Cover is really gorgeous in person.  Better quality than I've seen from any other photobooks.  I did a size comparison from her last one.



I think it may also have the most pages out of any photobook(写真集) I own.
