Possible replacements for Rapid Share ??
« on: March 24, 2005, 09:13:31 AM »
Completely jacked from another forum. RapidShare has been making me  :x cuz they've been deleting in less than 30 days. FALSE ADVERTISING you bitches!! And YSI is acting testy at times. I can never upload a thing to Youshareit. Dropload sucks too. I almost feel like asking to hire professional RS link downloaders just to keep the links alive.

====

If any members have sites they know of for free web hosting..... please toss a reply in this thread. The more options we have for free web hosting the better !!

Here are some of the links that have been posted in this thread already !! Toss some feedback in here as well as to which are the best sites to use !!

http://193.201.54.72/ or the English link..... http://193.201.54.72/index.php?lang=eng
http://up.li.ru/
http://www.webfile.ru/
1) havent checked the webspace yet - 2) nice speed - 3) slow webspace :/

http://www.mytempdir.com/
25 mb upload limit on a file.
RAR's can be used. You can RAR files that are large in size and share them !!
No hourly download limits.
The drawback..... files only last 3 weeks !!
You may have to do this:
NOTE: If you are using Norton Internet Security 200x disable "Privacy Control" temporarely otherwise the page where you get the Download-link cannot be opened!
AN EXAMPLE, Jessica Alba on David Letterman:
http://www.miumu.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=6691&mforum=jpmx#6691

http://www.uploadhut.com
(I've tried this...it gives me a blank page??)

Someone try to download  this and send it to me :P

http://www.scambia.com/faq.php
10mb up/file (no prob with splitting though)
20mb/hour dl
far more stable server than rapidshare (connection drop etc..)
+no "ticketing" on every attempt (+countdown)

And a reminder..... post your OWN uploads..... not someone elses uploads !! Anyone can post a web find link for a video.
All videos posted in this section should be on your own web space and your own uploads !!

Tried a small file to tempdir:

File Rike Ishikawa - c4.mpg (10,827,780 b) has been successfully uploaded.

Link to the file:
http://sr1.mytempdir.com/13401

Upload was about 70KB/s... and no need to disable the W2003 IE enhanced security (I simply closed all the cookie dialogs  :D )

from a Super Mod from another board :w00t:

Quote
This may be "The One" to use now....

http://upload.by/fastshare/e.php

Thanks to testnutzer123 for this info.....
30MB filesize limit
Files will be deleted after 60 days of "inactivity".
No Warez or other copyrighted stuff.
Advice not to upload "sensitive" or personal data.

I also noticed they do allow RAR's !! No hourly limits !!  .... if this remains stable say goodbye to Rapid Share !!

After you get a link and go to the page.... there is a BIG Ad in front of the link. You can either close the Ad or use your AdBlock with Firefox to stop the Ad completely. After you do that.... left click on that link as well.... then the download starts !! If you use IE make sure you have some sort of pop up blocker !!

*EDIT Update*: RAR's, HJ Split no longer allowed. They will be deleted if uploaded. No Archived files !!

How nice, RS feels the heat:

Upload-limit: Unlimited! (30 MB per file. Split-archives allowed!)
Download-limit: Unlimited! (Some files have more than 100.000 downloads!)

I'm not sure how, but I've heard of people using gmail accounts to serve files.  http://gmail.afraid.org will get you an account in about 5 minutes.  And, I just looked at my box with about 50 messages in it, and it says that i'm using 0% of my space. (unlimited space?)  Just a suggestion.

2210 MB for GMail.

I have many, many invites if anyone wants to try this.

My 2210 Mb seems to be untouched with alot of messages in my box, so I'm wondering if the unlimited rumors are true.  And I have a ton of invites too, for whoever wants one.

Is there a limit on the maximum filesize you can send in a single email with gmail?  I'm sure I read somewhere there was.

You'd have to use winrar to split larger files.
I guess you'd have to email the file to yourself, and then when people request the file you'd just forward the email to them.
The initial uploading would take time but then you could forward the files to as many people as you want and it'd take no time at all.
Sig gone. Tinypic is no more.

Or just mail it to yourself at an account called "JPOPSUKI_Uploaders" the pass to which would be in the Asshole.

2211.1055891 megabytes (and counting)

Can't really find it, but for photos the attachement size seems to be 10MB.

I've heard some guys on this HK forum use Gmail. But that'd be a good practice, I'll have to investigate this!!  :bounce:

Yep. I believe it's 10 MB. Maybe 50 MB? It's definitely not over 100, I know that for sure.

Try Filebank, many Japanese upload sites are using it to replace Hakobako, Share Stage.

http://www.filebank.co.jp

It's free (1GB) and the registration is quite easy.

^ hmm...sounds good, see if I can blindly register

try this site as well.....
http://www.qfile.de/
...... they also allow RAR Archives but they offer an EXTRA 20 mb's per hour more than Rapid Share !!
Rapid Share = 30 mb's per hour
Qfile = 50 mb's per hour

Only 1 problem so far with Qfile so far and that was a server problem they had for 2 hours. Been using it for a little bit now and seem Very Stable !!
