Paper today says that this 'get out of jail in 3 days' card was agreed 3 weeks before she even went in. And I saw on TV that she had luxury groceries sent to her house. Her friend was quoted as saying "She's not doing so well". Like fuck she is. She's at a luxury home, with luxury groceries, with family and friends around her for support. She's probably laughing herself silly.

Was she going to go out and assault or kill someone?

Did she pose a present danger to society?

Is she going to disappear and never be seen again?

If the answer to all those questions is no, then she shouldn't have gone to prison in the first place.

Prison is completely useless for anything except isolating prisoners from the general public. I think there needs to be rehabilitation, but prison is counter-productive in all but the most extreme cases.

Agree with this, maybe it's completely stupid that she was out because 3days but it seems that she doesn't make something which deserves 45days in jail.
Well i'm not a fan of her anyway, i don't care if she's out or in :P

Driving behind a wheel drunk, as she was convicted of, could kill innocent pedestrians or other motorists.

^ agreed.

And some people, a hefty fine can work well as a deterrent, but for people that are filthy rich such as herself, that shit just doesn't work, so jail is a great option... Well, it might be if she actually done the time..

Not while she's in house arrest though... The punishment should try to work to get her to not drive drunk. Jail is a horribly inefficient way of doing this. It's also a matter of allocating resources.

You have 3 people who committed crimes:
1) A child molester
2) A drug-dealer convicted of murder
3) Paris Hilton

You have 2 jail cells. Which two do you imprison?

The first two would be sent to a prison, not a jail.  And jail is a much better at not getting her to drive drunk than house arrest is, especially in her mansion with all the luxuries in the world.

Hang the first 2, then Hilton can have her choice in cells.

Paris Hilton and the drug-dealer. The child molester I deal with him myself.

But that's not the point. The point here is that:
1 - She committed a crime
2 - She was sentenced according to law
3 - She got out early because she's rich.

So next time americans go around the world telling everybody what their justice system should be, please take a look at yourselves first.

Paris has been ordered to go back to jail by the judge.

Quote from: TMZ
Paris Hilton was just ordered back to jail in Lynwood to serve out the remainder of her sentence! She'll get credit for at least 5 days already served.

Hilton left the courtroom in tears, screaming, "Mom, Mom, Mom." Hilton was also heard saying "It's not right."

One witness described the scene as: Paris was "physically escorted" out of the courtroom by a female deputy.

Hilton's mother was later seen pacing the hallways, telling reporters, "I'm paralyzed right now." Paris' father Rick is still in the courtroom.

A Sheriff inside the courtroom tells TMZ that officers are taking Hilton straight from the courtroom to Lynwood. No timetable has been set on her departure.

Yesterday, I was pretty mad when I'd heard she got out. But after having slept on it, and hearing the news now, I can't help but feel kind of bad.

Sure the judge gave her her sentence, and after that, it should be served out. But, I dunno. Seeing her so broken down, it's already obvious that she's learned her lesson. And that was kind of the whole point of this thing, to make her learn her lesson about drinking while driving, and making as many mistakes she has.

With more thought on the subject, I don't think I would mind if she went to pay-jail, or even had house arrest. I mean, as some others have said, this is an awfully cruel sentence, for just a traffic violation. Yeah yeah, there's that whole arguement that she could have killed someone while driving drunk, but she hasn't.

I dunno. But eh, I just figure, that she's already broken down you know. I may hate Paris with every fiber of my being, but enough is enough. (I probably just have a soft-spot for crying people) She knows she shouldn't be driving drunk already, and when it comes to that sentence, I would not mind if she were under house arrest.

When it comes to bribing the justice system, and getting out early just because you're filthy rich though, for that she and whoever else is involved, should be thoroughly punished.

Could they lock her up for a few extra years so I don't have to read about her?

That'd be swell.
