I'm so addicted to poupee right now, it's not even funny. Anyway here are some poupee strategies!! Some were already mentioned by icey but I'll put them in one place :lol:
How to make ribbons
+ You start with more ribbons if you let a friend invite you to poupee instead of registering by yourself. The person who invited you gets a 30 ribbon bonus as well, so it's beneficial to both!
+ When you start gaming, you get ribbon bonuses for the first dress-up, the first time you edit profile, etc. Just try out everything in your home once.
+ You get ribbons for posting items to your closet. Three most important rules: 1) the pics must be fashion-related items or dolls/stuffed animals/plushies, 2) no faces should be visible in the pics, 3) the items should be your own. If for some reason you upload someone else's items (like mom or friend), don't mention it in the description :lol:
+ It's not wise to post more than 3 or 5 photos a day because you stop getting as many ribbons.
+ Comment on other poupees' items! There are three reset times each day, after which you can make 20 comments that earn you ribbons. So you can make max 60 ribbons a day by commenting, but it takes some dedication LOL

+ If you have posted items, that will also make it easier for you to earn more ribbons because people whose items you have commented may repay the favour. Ideally if everyone repaid the favour, you could get 120 ribbons a day with 60 from your comments and 60 from others... I've never had this ideal situation, though.
+ Selling the poupee clothes and items that you don't like at poupee market.
+ Selling shells. You find shells when you visit different poupee home pages, when the yellow bird comes flying down the shell is on its head (if the bird doesn't fly, there won't be a shell). The chances of finding a shell are increased if you click 'suteki' in the closet for any item and also if you wait a little before checking the poupee home. (It's useful to maybe browse another site to kill some time.) Remember to try refresh once. You can sell shells in poupee market for 2-3 ribbons each.
+ You can always buy ribbons, but nobody is forcing you.
+ Dress up every day! You don't even need to change the outfit, just click snapshot on the dress up page. You get 10 ribbons each day, 10 ribbons bonus for each 10 days, and 100 ribbon bonus if you dress up every day a month.
How to get items
Uploading item photos for closet
+ In addition to ribbons, you get an item each time you upload a photo. I've got all my make-up this way, lol. But often you may get ugly items.
Katherine's store
+ The store that makes people curse with high ribbon prices, limited releases and lots of cuteness to choose from. Important strategy: Only buy items that you really like! You won't be able to sell them for months to come so make sure you like it. Also, people used to buy Katherine items so that they could later sell them for a high price at poupee market. However, this has been changing recently because there are much more users and thus the items are not really rare anymore when they can be sold. So also because of this, don't buy things if you're unsure :3
+ Katherine shop's present floor: You may buy presents for yourself, but these items can NEVER be sold, so it's not smart to buy many things. Only stuff that you really like.
Poupee Market
+ It doesn't really need to be explained how this works, right? You see something that you like and buy it if you have enough ribbons. But there are some strategies for how to get max benefit from poupee market. -->
+ During a major event in Katherine shop (which are not that rare), items at Poupee Market are cheaper because people are desperately selling them to afford the new Katherine items. So if you're not busy saving for an item from Katherine shop, it's worth doing some hunting at Poupee Market instead.
+ The official Katherine items cannot be sold for a few months or six months after the event. This means that there are release dates when certain items become available for selling at poupee market. During this time, these newly released items are cheaper at poupee market because so many people are selling them that they have to lower the price to get someone to buy them. Also in reverse: if in the future you want to sell Katherine items that are being released to the poupee market, don't sell them instantly. Wait until the prices go up again. And don't sell during a major event :lol:
Shell spring
+ Collect shells from random poupee homes. When you throw 5 into the shell spring, you get an item. Often the items are ugly, but sometimes you get something very nice. Still, if you're unlucky you might consider selling shells instead.
+ If you throw in 5 of the same shells, you get a wallpaper. This might be useful if you want something else than the basic wallpaper in your poupee home.
Poupee amusement: Go Go Piyo balloon game
+ Each game costs 30 ribbons. I've only done this once and I felt so cheated afterwards because I misunderstood the rules. This game imo is only for people who have LOTS of ribbons to spare. Like hundreds or thousands. Anyway, the idea is to avoid balloons as long as possible because the higher you get, the rarer items are inside the balloons. (I thought the idea was to break as many balloons as possible to get as many items as possible, so you can only imagine how pissed off I was to get a stupid plain dress from one of the bottom balloons. A dress that is usually around 10 ribbons at poupee market cost me 30 ribbons. Grr)
What are "suteki" for?
I guess mostly for ranking your most popular items. Some people get hundreds or thousands of sutekis that end up on a weekly suteki ranking, and they get presents for their ranking. But to make it there your item has to be pretty damn cool and you have to be very popular to get that many people to suteki your item. So in a way sutekis aren't that important unless you're on top of the food chain, but I always click suteki anyway *shrug*
That's most of it :lol: There's a lot to think about if you really get into it. LOL

Separating users to those who can afford to buy ribbons and those who can't, just like at high school there were the 'cool' kids who could afford the cool stuff and then the rest of us -____-" Idk I think it's a social divide, or the website sending a message that 'free' users aren't as important D:
Tbh I've bought ribbons twice for 5 dollars before, but when I once got severely ripped off by the Piyo balloon game I decided never to buy ribbons again :lol: (And also never to play that darn game again) I'm stubborn enough to stick to that decision... :lol:

I HAAAAAAAAAAATE THE PIYO GAME OMFG What a ridiculous waste of ribbons!!! I tried it once and got a CRAP item! For 30r, I'd better get at least an uncommon item, wtf!!!
I think I'll only get Jewels on special occasions... I actually always INTENDED on buying ribbons because I love this website and do want to support the business, but I'm too broke for that shit right now. lol Buuuuut if I get some extra birthday money, I'd totally throw down five dollars for some Jewels. :B
And yeah, I'm hating all the new changes to Poupee... I'm a new user so I didn't get most of the awesome items that came out a year ago and I know that all the brand name items and promotional items are going to cost JEWELS. >: IF ONLY I COULD HAVE AN ORIGINAL LOUIS VUITTON PURSE!!! There are so many items that were promo items that can never be sold like the Louis Vuitton stuff, the HAPPY BATH DAY stuff (which I'm SO MAD AT because I LOOOOVE HAPPY BATH DAY DX ) and the Maybelline mascara that I want so badly. This year they had the epic Kaela stuff which I'm happy I caught because I'm a HUGE fan but I wonder what they'll do next? I hope they have some good contracts in the works. XD
But as excited as I am for the new items, my heart still aches because of Jewels... *sigh*

I'm happy cuz this is the first make-up event that I've been around for lol. I did get my poupee finally mascara and some less bright lipstick colour, unfortunately out of the two lipsticks I bought the other (#6) is quite horrid (makes her look like she doesn't have lips at all) ToT
The limiteds are up... Just some mirrors that are way too expensive. Haha, I'll concentrate on the make-up because I never buy it otherwise. All my poupee make-up, nail polish etc. are from item uploads or shell spring :lol:
...Bought the limited pink nailpolish, it only shows if I'm using a different colour wallpaper lol (not yellow or pink) Why are you pwning me so Kath :( so mean
And the limited pink lipstick is lighter than the #1 I'd bought before, gah

I bought the pink lipstick and the mirror from the limiteds... I'm considering the nail polish... Hmmmm... I also bought the mascara, pink hairclip and pink/black bag. I don't think I'll buy much else, though. I'm still waiting for Natsu Matsuri. XD
I usually sell all the make up I get from uploads because it's usually ugly colors like that nasty green... Bleh.
I'm freaking DYING for some new Present floor items! WTF Kath, it's been almost two months!!! I'm tired of the bears and this month's bears are an ugly color. >: Boooooo~

I can see how that can happen. I haven't gotten there yet, but I'm kinda tired of ribbon whoring... OMFG, it's so hard for me to get 20R after each reset, but I try so hard to do it, anyway... Anytime I'm in front of a computer for any number of seconds, I immeditely log onto Poupee and start posting hearts... I've done this at home, at friend's houses and at public places, too...

I usually take tooons of pictures at a time. At least ten at a time so that I can just upload a few a day and not have to worry about taking pictures each day.
I want to be in the top 10 suteki ranking one day~~~ That's why I try to make them pretty. XD

Haha there are times when I get sick of commenting, so I think "it's just a game" and take a break. Then at some point when I'm desperate for ribbons I'll start commenting again. XD But yeah, if it starts to feel like a job it might be better to take a break for at least a day :lol: Sometimes I focus more on shell hunting to sell the shells. Just to get a little bit of variety lol

I'm actually up to 1000 ribbons. Been whoring ribbons since I started, practically. After I saw the kimono at the furima I started to research them and saw that in 07 and 08 there were Natsu Matsuri events and I pooped my pants and began to whore myself for ribbons! LOL
I try never to go under 1000 ribbons... When I go under 1000, I start to ribbon whore like MAD and do Poupee pairs with some friends. Also do tons of shell hunting, uploading and selling of the items I get when I upload.
I'm so serious about the Natsu Matsuri event... LOL

Today I'm up to 248 ribbons LOL I'm trying to save up again. T_T
At one point I had a nice balance of 300-400 ribbons until I started thinking there was no point in saving if I could be buying cute items instead (.....), but now I want to have a higher count again. I need to have a lot saved because not only am I buying event items, but there are items at poupee market that I want to collect... Two places to waste ribbons.. It be hectic yo!!!
I hope you get your Natsu Matsuri event :lol: Is it mostly kimonos, yukatas or sth? I'd check but livejournal is down (that's where I get all my poupee news T_T) They really need to find another place for backing up that info cuz LJ has been down all day...

Ahh cool @ Natsu Matsuri. Funny enough, I thought I'd be all over yukatas on poupee, but during that recent yukata TBS special I didn't buy any. Maybe cuz the obis weren't cool. It's good if I don't want one though, it means I'll be saving a lot of ribbons because they cost so much :lol:
Ack, looking at the old ones, I would've wanted the 'sweets' pattern one. If they release a vomit-inducingly cute one like it again, I may consider it >_> And yes, looks like the obis were MUCH nicer at the natsu matsuri than at the recent event!
VALENTINE'S BUNNIES?? Crazy... I can't buy the bunny bag because there are so many other items I'd love to have (tho they will most likely be too expensive, too T_T)
Let's see... I'd like the dot dress (pink or blue), the high waist skirt (any colour but I think I like the red most), frilled socks, just about any of the shoes (the heart shoes are cute)... The jumper dress looks cute, too, but I'm assuming that like the dot dress they will go for a high price and I will only be able to afford one when they are released to market....
Man I need to start saving like crazy!!! These items are probably unlocking really soon!!!

I bought two of the Megami Search yukatas cos I thought the pattern was lovely. But you're right, the Natsu Matsu event items are much nicer than the Megami Search stuff. Which is why almost I pooped my pants when I saw the past event items on that LJ community!! O___O

Hehe I always think my dress ups are boring because I don't wear tons of layers and don't pile up on all my accessories at once. :lol: Sometimes my dress ups are desperate because I want to use a certain item but can't find anything that matches with it. So then I just wear a weird combo of things LOLOL

Okay so... I'm happy most of the stufff in the Jewel area is "meh" to me. I mean, there are some cute things, but nothing I'm willing to spend money on. I hope it stays that way!! XD

But I LOVE the new Poupee model feature in Kath's shop! Now i will never buy an item blindy again!

I don't want to convert jewels into ribbons because I never want to buy them, so I want to save in case one day they have something I really want in the jewel store...

I've bought ribbons twice, both months ago, and I decided not to buy ribbons again lol. All of my ribbons before the jewel-turn were non-bought ribbons... So yeah. I have no idea why they were turned into jewels o_O;;; But maybe it's good. I'll try to save 'em if the jewel store releases something totally orgasmic - but it will have to be REALLY good. Like the colours and everything will have to be exactly the way I like them. (LOL I wonder how long I can stick to this decision)
Good thing: the bonuses for 3, 7, 10 days and full month of dress up seem to have been increased. Like 200 for the whole month and stuff :D I'm looking forward to that!

Basically, while at my browser, I hit Control and the + key to zoom in and control and - to zoom out. It makes the ENTIRE page bigger, though. Not just the Poupee. XD Sometimes when it won't zoom in and you have to click somewhere outside of whatever's in Flash to get it to work. Hope that helps~ :twothumbs
And yeah, when you comment on something you've commented on before, it doesn't show up but you both still get ribbons! It confused the crap out of me at first, too. XD

At first I was like, crap. Strawberry yukatas and bunnies and teddies. But thank god for the preview button :lol: I decided I could live well without both. I don't understand the hugging bunnies at all, they're like sticking onto your arm! wtf lol Maybe I'm just too picky :lol: They're cute but I don't understand the concept... haha. And the strawberries, I find the pattern is a bit plain because it's only strawberries. If I just try hard enough I find flaws in anything and can decide not to buy :lol:
I think I know which yukata I want, but because I'm worried about VDay items being unlocked soon, I think I might wait until the end of month to buy anything (since the items are up till Aug 31st)... I'm kind of itching to buy it, but 200 ribbons is still a lot if the VDay items do get unlocked D:
Hahaha as for the limiteds, I don't even want the cotton candy because I over-ate some last month and now just the idea of it makes me go eww :lol: It looks cute but... Yeah, don't want some for myself. Haha I'm such a weirdo.

I counted I'd need at least 420 ribbons for a "complete" natsu matsuri outfit, so even if I could afford it right now I'm still saving cuz I'd be almost broke afterwards. :lol: I wish there was a better selection of shoes though. The ones in jewel section are nicer, but the colours don't match with the yukata that I want :P

I did maths for VDay items based on the original prices (hopefully some will be sold for less), and I'm going to need at least 610 ribbons to get some things that I want (one of each).... Of course I might like more than one colour of some items, but I can't afford everything I guess... haha.

I decided to post a somewhat updated version of the poupee strategies :D Because things have changed...
Obvs this is for the people who are just starting :D
How to make ribbons
Daily things:
- Daily login: 10 ribbons (works automatically)
- Daily dressup: 10 ribbons
- Dress up bonuses:
3 consecutive dress up days: (?? ribbons)
7 consecutive dress up days: (?? ribbons)
10 consecutive dress up days: 30 ribbons
Daily dress up every day of a month: 200 ribbons
Commenting items in other poupees' closets:
- You get 2 ribbons for each comment. You can make 20 ribbon comments a day. That means you can make 40 ribbons each day by commenting. The reset times are now history.
Closet:
Post fashion items in your closet and get 5-15 ribbons and a poupee item from each photo. Three most important rules: 1) the pics must be fashion-related items or dolls/stuffed animals/plushies, 2) no faces should be visible in the pics, 3) the items and photos should be your own (so no catalogue pics etc).
Don't post more than 5 pics a day, as you stop getting ribbons.
Selling:
Sell the poupee clothes and items that you don't want or need anymore. http://oribon.info (http://oribon.info) is very useful for finding out how to price your items.
Shells:
Selling shells. You may get an item by throwing 5 shells into the shell spring. If you tend to have bad luck, you may try selling the shells instead (usually 3 ribbons for each).
Finding shells: You find shells when you visit different poupee profiles. The yellow bird comes flying down with the shell is on its head (if the bird doesn't fly, there won't be a shell). Click the shell when you see it. The chances of finding a shell are increased if you click 'suteki' in the closet for any item and also if you wait a little before checking the poupee home. (It's useful to maybe browse another site to kill some time.) Remember to try refresh once.

Jewels:
Jewels are the new currency on poupee that can only be acquired by buying with real life money omg. Some items in Katharine's shop can only be bought with jewels.
Jewels can be turned into ribbons in poupee bank. One jewel is 2.5x ribbon, so for 1000 jewels you would get 2500 ribbons.
That's what I could quickly come up with >o<
Anyone remember what the new bonuses are for 3 & 7 days of dress up??

LOL I've been patiently sitting here refreshing, decided that I would pay 30% more the original price.
Right now the prices seem to be going down A LITTLE BIT, except for the shoes and high waist skirt (which seems to be hopeless to get for a decent price lol).
I finally got white frilled socks for 55 ribbons (originally 40), the pink classical dress for 128 (originally 100), and blue dot dress for 155 ribbons (originally 120). Still a bit more than what I wanted to pay but whatever lol. I don't feel horribly ripped off yet, tho I've seen the dot dress go for lower prices now D:

The -only- reason I got my pink dot dress was because I was refreshing for a while and going through the dresses section a lot and I saw a girl selling hers for only 199ribbons so I snatched that up quickly XD Cause it was the lowest I saw it. Hopefully all of the Valentine's items go down soon, cause some of the pricing is ridiculous! I really want the cute boots.... but they're so expensive X.x

Oh hello me again, new fashion items are up! lol More pastel colours!
If I was new to poupee I'd probably be all over this stuff, but poupee has had almost nothing but these pastel colours since I joined and I've got sick of them :lol:
So I ended up buying white socks, two yellow hair ribbons (the ones that go on opposite sides) and the yellow ribbon flats because I didn't have any yellow shoes before D: Not going for any skirts or dresses. They're cute, but I'm just so tired of these colours. I really hope that fall brings new colour scales LOL.

I like BRIGHT, VIVID colors like hot pink, bright yellow and bright green. These pastels are so... Spring. It's kinda tired now. Whoever has been designing the items for Poupee Girl this year, IMO, kinda sucks. XD SOME stuff is cute but... Man, I'd rather spend my ribbons on more Natsu Matsuri items because I know I'll still be wearing yukata through out the year just for kicks. So I guess I'll continue to build up ribbons before the end of the month...
The Jewel items, IMO, are cuter than the ribbon items... but not by that much. I guess it's as I said, the lead designer sucks IMO so I'm not very inclined to want to buy stuff... EXCEPT for the Natsu Matsuri Jewel items... THOSE I want. T__T
The items I REALLY want to buy are the Pop Gal Girl items (I LOVE every single item, omfg) and the Contest items... I seriously hope those aren't hella expensive... Because I plan on buying ALL of it...
But I don't like the HK x Reebok stuff very much... I'm ALMOST inclined to buy a couple of items just cos they're kinda cheap and limited edition but... I have a feeling I'll barely wear any of it. XD

Hahahahah oh gosh ;_;
OK I don't really know why but I thought I should try my luck with the lucky bags. So even if they are INSANELY EXPENSIVE I've bought 3 from the ribbon section and one from the jewel section (the classical one. It better be good).
Bought the heart one as a bit of a risk; if it's not my style maybe it still has something cute that won't lose its value in the future >_> The red+black one, I'm surprised if it doesn't have something I like because this colour combo is one of my favs. And then, with lolli's help, decided on the cheap light blue one - absolutely no idea what it will have, but I'm hoping it has something that is not quite my style but still cool, so I can 'widen my style' lolol.
I'd still be interested in getting the leopard one (for the same reason as the light blue one; I'm not crazy about leopard print but it might have some nice popstar fashion type stuff) and the white venus one (looks like it might have jewellery and something pretty). :lol: All the other ones I'm iffy about because of the colour. Either I have nothing that matches or I have other doubts lol.
But now I feel like kicking myself a little bit because I just realized that there might be autumn items coming up soonish and they might actually have NEW COLOURS omg :lol: And if I don't have enough ribbons I'll be very sad.

I decided to start my "poupee investigations", that means commenting every poupee on my f-list with 5 comments and keeping a list of which ones comment back HAHA (Of course, this doesn't include Jphipsters, but other people that I only know from poupeegirl)
Not sure what I'll do with the results, I might just keep a note of "the good ones" and only keep commenting them cuz they earn it... A more drastic move would be to de-friend people who don't keep in touch, but I think it would be viewed as a bitchy move and I always worry what people are thinking about me lol T_T
Anyway that means I'm not sure when I'll be able to comment y'all's items again cuz I want to get this over&done with, so hmmm I understand if you take a break from commenting me as well :lol: Haha whatever feels good! I forgot my bracelets on for some of these pics. Bracelets were not included in any bags so ignore them lol
1. The light blue heart bag: I like the hair ribbon (even if I already have one in a lighter shade of blue) and the top. The shoes are ok. The shorts I'll have a hard time wearing with anything, because I really prefer skirts and dresses on poupee. XD But overall I'm happy; I expected this bag to have something I don't usually wear, and the bag answered to those expectations :3
2. The red dot bag: I LOVE EVERYTHING. Even if the top is a re-colour from previous items, I don't care because luckily I didn't buy any of those tops. And I love black+red combo!!!
3. Pink heart bag: Definitely not what I expected XD The dress could be better, and I hate leggings on poupee (don't know why, I just never wear them. I prefer high socks), but I like grey+pink combo and the hair bow is adorable!! I like the shoes because I haven't seen shoes like this on poupee before ^o^
4. Classic bag from jewel section (The blue bag was not included, I just had to wear it to show off the ribbon ring): I'm so glad I don't have to regret spending some of my few jewels on this! 6 items and all are wonderful ♥ I took a separate picture of the under shirt, too. So pretty! I'm not big on wearing those little hats though, but whatever. It's cute XD
Anyway what do we learn from this?
Recolours for ribbon users, cool new stuff for jewel buyers. I don't like to whine but it was a bit sucky that even the 450 ribbon heart bag included a dress that was only a little bit changed from a previous item. D: wth But at least I got stuff that I like!!

Some of the new prices are like wtf. When I'm considering buying something I end up thinking "meh, I could buy something I like more/something similar for a cheaper price from the poupee market". The lucky bags do have entire outfits in them, but I added a lot of accessories and stuff to the pictures above. XD There's about 4-6 items or so in a bag. But the Lucky Bags stopped being on sale on the 29th. :(

I don't know if you're curious to hear my 'poupee investigation' results so far (I haven't commented everyone yet), but I'll babble anyway :lol:
Since starting my little project I've given 5 comments to 29 non-jphip poupees on my friendslist.
So far 1 person has commented back the 5,
1 person has commented back 3,
3 people have commented back 1.
Is it just me or are the results kinda pathetic so far? :lol: Only 5/29 have returned some comments back, and only one of them the 5 that I gave them.
It's ok not to comment back, I understand that not everyone can do it. But I guess I was expecting the ratio to be more favourable. At this point not even the third has returned a comment :O
On the other hand there are some people that are already on my yay list because they always comment back. So I won't even "test" them cuz I already know DEY BE GOOD. But I guess I was expecting to be more pleasantly surprised :lol:

You get shells by visiting profiles.. :3 But it increases your chances of getting a shell if you suteki an item first in their closet, then wait a little bit (about a minute?) before loading the profile. Remember to try refreshing once, too... It takes a lot more time this way but I've found it effective :lol:

Selling the stuff I get from uploading that I don't like has worked nice for me so I ended up with more ribbons than I expected, although I have not hit the 1000 mark XD I keep going to the market to see the latest stuff posted by people for sale, because sometimes there's pretty stuff super cheap, although of course it gets sold super fast, but I managed to grab some, including finally a pink headband.
Where do people get all those plushies and balloons, and the plush that hangs from your arm's side? Haven't seen those on the market =O

Those are usually at the market. Just under different categories. Some ballons are under the Event listing and others are under Goods. The heart balloons are the ones you can buy at the market. You can also buy balloons from Kath's present floor, but those have words on them. XD They're... okay. XD
The stuffed animals you could either get from the goods section of the market place or Kath's present floor. The stuff on Kath's present floor are teddy bears for each month (mainly to give out as birthday gifts). You can find random plushies in the market, but they are expensive. :/
The plush that hangs from yoru arms side you could only buy it in the Jewel section of Kath's Shop and that was for the Natsu Matsuri event only... So you probably won't be seeing those again for a while. :( And if you do, you'd have to buy Jewels to get them.

Yeah I went for a reaaaaally long time without buying any make-up! Got all of it from uploads and shell spring and sold the ones I didn't like. But then recently I bought make-up when it was put in Kath's store. It's definitely imo the lowest priority, but once you buy it and use it for a few days you feel like your poupee can't live without it anymore :lol:
What I still haven't really got into is nail polish. The pink stuff I bought can barely be seen -_- And I can't be bothered to buy every shade to match the clothes, haha.
I'm getting a bit bored when there are no new events!! XD Not that I want anything big.

Press control and + at the same time and you can zoom in on your Poupee, then just take a screen shot and import it into Photoshop. I'm on a screen that's 1920x1080 so I can zoom in really far. XD

The instruments.. For a little while I toyed with the idea of getting a saxophone for Kaepyon's memory (she was a member of The Possible who plays sax), but I don't like the way how it's placed on top of the outfit... umm like what if my dress up was nice otherwise but then you can't see most of it, hahaa yeah. So I guess I decided not to do that...
Also a flute would be funny for a "this one time, at band camp" joke... :lol:

I've been so lazy with poupee recently, for almost a week my only income was daily dress ups and logins >o< As a result I don't have tons of ribbons and even if I'm liking a lot of party items, I don't want to buy too much stuff or I'll be broke. (Might make sense to buy it though, cuz I think this stuff will sell well in the future if I got bored of it)
I also don't want to buy jewels this month because I don't like this month's $5 gift items :lol: Luckily party items will stay in the store for a looong, long time... February, right?? Except for the limits, of course..

I think the blog entry says that the lucky bags include 2-3 items. The cheaper ones will probably have accessories, and the more expensive ones might include a dress. :D If you buy the bag, you'll be able to open it Nov 30th 11am Japanese time... I got one ribbon and one jewel bag. I'm trying not to go overboard this time because the last time there were lucky bags... Well... It seems I was ok with the items when I got them, but most of them I've hardly used D:
If I had more ribbons I might actually buy another bag, but I'm trying hard to climb back to 2000+ ribbons but I keep falling back to 1000 because I keep buying stuff and it's so annoying. I hate how everything costs like 200+ ribbons these days

The Fur Bag A in navy blue gave me this ribbon hat, these ribbon tights and these fur ribbon earrings. The Elegant Bag A in gray gave me this gray bag with belt and these adorable gray boots. The boots remind me of the gray ones I bought in Canada. I love it all! ^o^

Yeah I'm happy with my lucky bag stuff as well!! I think I actually like it better when they have accessories and not entire outfits - it seems like there's less room for total miss and you can combine accessories with a lot of things.

I wasn't crazy about Valentine's day items and all I bought from the anniversary event were two wallpapers >o< I'm like desperately waiting for an event that would have items that I want! lol I wonder what this year's March event will be, last year they had the vacation event which was lovelyyy and I could kill (not really) for more China inspired stuff... I doubt they will repeat it though :/
I love the new way to get 3 shells a day by suteking poupees! Much easier and fun to collect shells. Even in a 28-day-month you can collect 84 shells a month this way, + I sometimes also get a few extra shells just from visiting profiles so it's even more than that. LUXURIOUS!!
AND I'm waiting to see March's jewel buying incentives :lol:

Recent events haven't really 'wow'ed me much, though there are some items I'm thinking of picking up before they disappear from the shop (Chiffon volume dress/yw10B, Punk belt dress/pr10A, and Empire mini onepiece/bk10C I'm looking at you----).
I'm trying to be a good poupee and actually save some ribbons + shells for future events. It's working out a lot better than expected. 1300R and 43 shells left untouched on my account. OMG~ didn't think it possible~~! Such s refreshing change from desperately saving up 300R every time I want a new item, ahahha.
... ANYWAY. Feel free to add me if you don't have me added already. I try to do a dress-up every day, and I comment on recent friend uploads occasionally ^^; I upload stuff from time to time, but don't have many interesting things to post really, comments greatly appreciated, though 8D

With shells, I thought I'd start saving them up so that I'd throw them in shell spring always at the end of the month... Except I'll throw March shells in early April for the hopes of April fool's goodies (not that I believe I'll get some, but hey at least I'll have tried) :lol: Even if I still often get crappy items, somehow it's fun to throw in a bunch at a time. lol!

I discovered another reason to like poupee over real life :lol: At poupeegirl I can wear a cross necklace as a fashion item, not a statement item. So yeah I bought one of the cross necklaces from the spring items ^___^ I think crosses are pretty and I like my cross necklaces IRL, but I can't really wear them because I'm not in the "Jesus gang" so if I wore one I would get misunderstood. Maybe if I go to Japan I should take my cross necklaces with me so I could wear them freely and nobody would care :lol:

I'd probably use it for one dress up to have evidence that I once had it (haha) and then SELL. Like someone said, there's no point in keeping rare expensive items just because they're rare and expensive :D (That is, if you don't have any real use for it)

Hahah seems like we all got the yellow Fringed Mini Dress from the shell spring XD I threw some shells the other day and that was one of my wins too. It's simple but cute~
I wanted two of the maxi dresses from the new Piyo game: the green dress and the b&w guitar one *_* But didn't wanna risk spending ribbons and then getting something i didnt want, plus I saw ppl were selling the stuff so cheap at the market... So instead of playing the game, I got them for SUPER CHEAP at the market!

I was lucky with the June Bride jewel catcher, I only wanted to play once because it's so expensive and got the item I liked best which is the black Japanese wedding dress :heart: If it wasn't that expensive, and not catcher only, I'd probably buy more items than that though

I finally bought one of the June Bride dresses, but no matter what I do, the snapshot won't save as long as I wear that dress ;_; Typical. Looks like I won't be able to capture this dress with the event background, but hopefully the dress will work once the background are back to normal. I "cheat" though, by snapping a regular snapshot, and then changing into the dress I want. Even if the dress up page fails to save your dress up as a snapshot, you'll still appear wearing those last worn items in your MyHome 8]
I've had this problem with a couple of other items as well, more noticeably on large items (the huge jacket dress from the History of the Middle Ages-event) but also on completely random event items, like the sweets lace skirt!
Anyone else have this problem? Not being able to wear certain event items until the event background is down? ;_; I think it's most likely got something to do with the flash and the way my browser handles it. Though I've had this problem with both Safari and Firefox, so wtf.

Poupeegirl has branched out and made a spin-off game on facebook! It's actually kind of fun xD;
The concept is that in addition to having a girl to dress up, you also run a store! The girl you get to dress up on the facebook app is your store manager. All the clothes you order for your store will be available for your store manager to wear, even when the clothing is out of stock in your store. You connect with friends and help them keep their stores clean (wtf xD;;; ), and buying clothes from friends' stores is cheaper than buying them through the official channels.

a. I had a tough time deciding whether to get this skirt in grey or red, but I chose red because the grey one looked a bit gloomy to me. But yeah I really like it :3
b. I could never wear anything like this in real life because I have no waist (lol), and didn't used to like pants like this for years and years... But I guess I've been brainwashed because I really wanted to get these high waist pants.. Haha. HOWEVER after some testing I noticed that just about no shirts in poupee layer properly under the pants WTF!!!!! FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU oh well, I guess I'll find appropriate shirts eventually/just wear them as normal hotpants/deal with it
c. I wanted to try the pirate piyo catcher once, and this is what I got LOL. I like the detail on the gun, but I never really have a reason for my pupe to wear one so.. lol Maybe I'll make a "tea-drinking high class lady with vengeance" dress up or sth
d. Cherry ribbon! I wanted to get the red one originally, but I realized I've got some brown items recently so I should get something that goes with them, especially because I only have one brown hair accessory

They have this special event currently that you get more ribbons for everything you do (login, dressup, comments)
Now the thing is, you not only get 5 ribbons for comments that you leave, but also for the ones that you get...
But nobody ever comments my items!!!!! :lol:
So uh oh, during the next few days, ANYONE WANT TO SWAP COMMENTS? I'll leave you my all 20 comments of the day, and you'll return the favour... Anyone? :lol: It's a lot of ribbons! I don't mind if the comments are just simple hearts or "cute" text, whatever. :lol:
I don't remember when the event ends but I think it's about a week? I'm already posting today's comments but day 13th and onward, I can make a deal. :lol:
Oh and I bought 3 ribbon lucky bags and 1 jewel one xD I don't mind remakes as long as they're remakes of nice items, though some of the guesses that people made in LJ poupee community have made me go a bit hurrrdurr over my choices... But still, each bag has 4-6 items so they should have something I like, right?? haha... I just chose the bags based on their colour and pattern lol, and I've had good experience with "pop" bags

If you still don't like it 6 months from now, you can probably sell it for a decent price! I know some people at LJ pupe community were wishing they had bought it, especially for that hat thing (bonnet?) that to me looks like a baby hat but *shrug* ... I'll remind you once the items unlock ^___^

In the meanwhile, poupee girl has had an awesome steampunk event... And now the annual June Bride (except to older players many of the dresses are disappointing, since they are very much like some dresses that were released in earlier years)
Either way, I love poupeegirl because within a few weeks, my pupe's look can change so much:

The following is the up and coming schedule.
New Schedule:
As of July 1st 2013: The Last update for the purchasing of Jewels will include the these special items. Friend invitations and Exchange room item updates.
The service of Jewel purchasing with special items for Friend invitations and Exchange room item updates will end on August 1st.
During the middle of August new Exchange room item releases will end.
August 31st:
New Jewel releases will end.
Also, there will be the termination of these features:
-Jewel purchasing feature
-Friend invitation and initial registration
-New releases for dress up item.
-Presents, Friend invitations, and Exchange room item will also be terminated for all Jewel buyers.

If there was someone really passionate about running the site maybe this wouldn't be happening. I dunno. Maybe turning it towards more of a business model with jewels turned out to be a failure in the long run.
It really sounds like pupe will slowly close down for good. :(
