Here's a random thread all about the sports games we play. 98% of my gaming is concentrated on sports games: from PC, console, arcade to pocket ERRR regular pool and air hockey.

I've been playing some NFL Blitz 2000, one of my fave arcade games.

for the PC now, and it's fuckin impossible to beat, the 4 directions on the keyboard can't exactly pass. And the easy mode is so hard! :evil: The cheat codes were always a bitch to enter too, but I still like bodyslamming people after the play. XD

I haven't played any sports games in a long time. I used to have a ton of fun playing the NBA Jam games. Me and my friends used to love teaming up as Will Smith and Jazzy Jeff.:lol: Thinking about this game makes me feel like playing it now.

I kick ass in the baseball one. The worst part is it forfeits after a high score. or it just does 5 innings or whatever.

Longtime designer Mark Turmell has joined Electronic Arts' Tiburon studio as chief creative officer just as EA announces a reboot of the classic sports game he created, NBA Jam.
"I couldn't be more excited to have this all kind of coincide with my arrival," Turmell -- who also co-created Smash TV and NFL Blitz -- tells Gamasutra in a new interview. "[The game's] fundamentals are great, but of course, it's 15 years later. There's certainly a lot of additional effort and enhancement that has to happen."

A profanity laced version for the home port of the popular two-on-two basketball classic found its way to the web.
The blog Nintendo Player received an anonymous package from a former Acclaim Entertainment staffer that contained a prototype cartridge dubbed "NBA Jam XXX," a joke version of the SNES port of the original NBA Jam made only for the office's ears.
Apparently, Acclaim picked up the chance to create a console version of the arcade classic by turning down an offer to work on another console version of a Midway classic: The original Mortal Kombat. That's how much they wanted to work on NBA Jam. Since I was one of those kids in the 90s who wasted an endless amount of quarters just to play NBA Jam, I can't say that I blame them.
Of course, working endless hours and programming line after line of code can take its toll on a human brain and the staff would amuse themselves by creating a funny version of their signature project. This office-only version featured the game's color commentator Tim Kitzrow offering some off-color commentary in place of his usual "Boomshakalakas".
And in case it hasn't sunk in yet by the description or the giant image above, this video is NSFW and requires a set of headphones if you work in an office or a place where more sensitive ears will bleed at the uttering of curse words.
