I've seen only the anime version. It was ok, not spectacular, but ok. I didn't like the ending though.

Yeah, where am I? Or rather, where WAS I? Lol, Sits. I haven't read the manga, although I hear it's the best version. I DID enjoy the anime and movie, though. I love how they kept the focus of the story on the two main characters, instead of going the route of the stereotypical mech-blow-stuff-up animes. I guess I'd say the anime is better than the movie, only because it had more time to develop the characters. Although, I do LOVE Aki Maeda, so the movie's a must-see.

Watched the anime, it was a really depressing story, and the art wasn't amazing or anything but well worth it to watch it.

OMG!..this anime was SO sad..i was soo into the story plot..i cried from beginning to end..and sadly i was so immersed in the anime i was depressed just thinking about it

this anime/manga is extremely good and original, but very very depressing..if your planning on watching or reading it..make sure you have a box of kleenex ready..cuz damn!..its a real tear jerker!

makes you think ...why in the world do we still have wars occurring..when both sides will be suffering the consequences during and after the war?

I saw fansubs of the anime before it was licensed.  It was a pretty good story, but I didn't particularly like how sad the ending was.  I haven't read the manga version.
