Anyway, I just got news that those shoes that the girls are wearing (I don't know if it's in the two MV teaser pics or the poster with them lined up) are 800 USD a pair... And here I thought SM was cheap with all this recycling :lol: then again, he has a thing for expensive shoes. BoA's Rick Owens for Eat You Up were 1000 USD and she always had designer boots on when she's in Japan. Isn't there a saying about comfortable feet makes you work much harder or something :?

Edit: News from Cindy @snsdkorean.wordpress is that the first poster (where they are lined up) and the first picture with the same clothes is the new concept which we will see. But the last two (where's Yul's butt is sticking out :( and Hyo has a green blouse taht I thought was Yul's jacket from the new concept) is the OLD one that we would have seen.... that included Jess' weird blouse and hairstyle. Did that just make sense? I guess I see where the mannequin concept comes in seeing as in the first teaser pic, they are in what looks to be a clothing store in a mall... and to me that set looks better than what we would have gotten. I wonder who released the pics...

Don't think anyone's saying Gee is a remake, just that the old pics were from the remake disco song.
I like the old tops, fits the retro/vintage theme. But hate the ankles showing. I personally never hated how Jess looked in that leaked pic anyway.
The new tops are just bad. 100 USD? Spent too much on the sequins. Reminds me of the horrible Affliction and Ed Hardy crap.
But yeah I agree with tama that the overall concept didn't change, just the theme.
I'm expecting the next single to be a dance/hip-hop/pop song. So there is high possibility of a booty dance! I'm pretty excited to hear it and see the MV.

Am I the only one who thought the 5 sec teaser was awesome? It already had an awesome bass line and thought it was catchy. But I've heard full songs shorter than that so... It's the most interesting SNSD song I've heard so far though.
And I'm liking the song more from the short intro preview. Of course can't say how I really feel about it without hearing the whole thing. And I like the "G G G G G G G G" part, it's fucking G.
And the album cover is just orsm.
I think I finally get the whole sequins and tops for the whole glam rock look, as it goes with the group name on the cover... but I still don't like them. Everything else, GREAT.

I thought the 5 second preview was freaking awesome too. BOTH previews are awesome and I hope they're part of the song. The cover looks hotttt but....the girls look a little skinny? Rarely do I ever think that girls look too skinny but this time, they actually do.
Wait wait wait, I don't get it. You can get the deluxe 40 page PB for free? Man, who doesn't love free shit?
In the preview, when they all wake up, I still laugh at the way Yul wakes up. It's typical comical Yul <3 Then the Yoona shimmy shake <3 I got just what I asked for (or one of them). Oh and at the end (all the way to the left), Soo grabs on to Tae's tummy and her reaction is :heart: I can't get enough of Yul waking up on Yoon's shoulder, it's so cute! But I gotta say 16-18 seconds is the best! so much YoonYul~~~

It's sounds like Jessica to me, at first it sounded like Tiffany and now it sounds like Jessica O_O We have to wait and see, maybe they show who it is in the full MV or on their lives.

Actually o_o I don't think it sounds like either. Or any of them. But if I had to pick from just those two, I think it sounds a bit more like Tiff. and I wouldn't be surprised seeing as they ALWAYS give her the English narration or the most English lines. But then again, it sounds sorta like the way Jess would say it but in a slightly less breathy voice that she has.
But no, it def sounds like "My first love story" XD and it would make sense since

Just preordered a couple copies today. The intro is a lot better than I thought it would be, since I haven' t really liked much of what I heard of e-tribe. I really wanna hear Way to go and the rest.
Glad the album is using the T shirts and jeans pictures, makes me want the photo book that much more.

I was so ready to buy KARA's 2nd mini album but it just so happened that month I knew I'd be broke. But thanks for the info! Either way, it's free- so sounds good enough for me. And actually, I don't know if that's a poster or fan made. It was included in the article link that I gave in the same post and it seemed to be credited to a person, meaning it could be found by that person or made by that person. nothing specific. Either way, makes a great desktop background!

MV might be out when the albums is out. Usually, MVs don't have a date haha, they just 'pop'.

Like I've said on AKP, the song is hella addicting. Koreans love repetition, it seems to always be a hit. It's definitely different from the songs in their first album, it's not what I expected. But once I listened to it more I see that it does sorta fit. It's nice, just totally different. still them i guess, but totally different.
AND YES! I was practically right with the voice guessing hahaha. I just can't believe that's Yul and Hyo... I mean, wow. But I won't trust myself (or the Sosiz lyrics) completely until I see it live or in the MV.

Man, so many of their voices changed. All good, of course. even though I loved their voices from before, I didn't deny the fact taht I knew some of the voices could improve and grow. And that's exactly what happened. So I'm happy ^^ except for the fact that they sound really alike in this audio T_T I have to say this especially for HyoYeon, SooYoung, and Yoona. And I'm still debating on whether I like Yuri's old voice (or the voice she had on the OST duet with Sooyoung) or this one judging from her first two lines... but it's most likely the old voice >.> from what I'm hearing in this audio. Unless that's of course her using her talent of changing voices to be cute. Even Sunny's voice has changed... but then again, Sunny has many voices.
Did anyone figure out who is singing right before Yoona, Sooyoung, and Hyoyeon's part? Sounds almost like SeoHyeon or Sunny...

Yeah, I think Tiff's part is my favorite out of the lines with no "Gees" in them. And I don't usually find her lines the most catchy haha. I guess it's the way she sings it. Either way, Hyo's voice was whoa. Like I said before, I've always liked it, but it's really good now. Same with Soo. I can tell the training has helped a lot during the break.

There's this version that grates my ears much less than any other versions out there, but it's just that last minute of the song;
Hyo and Yuri just sound weird (except for Yuri's last line which sounds exactly like her), it's like they edited their voices too much or something. I gotta wait to see how they do it live (or if it's even them).

The song is so awesome, I've had it on repeat for the past couple hours. One of the best arrangements I've ever heard on a k-pop song, and that instrumental version proves it. I fucking love that sci-fi theramin melody during the verses. Would make an awesome club song, and I hope it has some addicting dance part which everyone will be doing.
And about the Yuri and Sunny parts in the 2nd verse, I thought it was the other way around, but I'm no expert so...

as what SITS have said GEE has a kick ass arrangement, IMO what makes it is that the unconventional beat breaks plus the electronic effects, it's very E-Tribe. And has a strong potential to be a club hit? i thought it was intended to be a versatile song in the first place, that's why i was looking for a remix on the track list after hearing the preview.

Yayyyy, I was right~~~ I SERIOUSLY was doubting that was Yul who sang right after Jess' part and the chorus. But are you sure "dugeundugeun georyeo bamen jamdo mot irujyo" is Yoona and not sooyoung? I mean sometimes she does sound like SooYoung when she makes her voice go whistely high, but... I dunno

I think all Yuri's harmonising is for Tae's lines. It ain't gonna be for live though. I wonder which lines they gonna just use the backing track for live perfs...
That Boys' Generation thing just..does not work with this song :lol:. I cringed when I heard the BoyJess singing 'babo'. I loved it for Girls' Gen, Honey and Baby Baby though. Those versions are great.

Crap. Now Tae comfirmed it in her UFO message just some minutes ago that they're not gonna be on MuBank this Friday, instead, they're gonna have a comeback at Music Core on Sat.
TBH, I still don't trust MBC. If it was KBS, I feel that they're tight with SNSD now that Yoona gave them great ratings, so their comeback would be huge. But MBC...I'm afraid it's gonna be halfass. :-\

I see your logic...but Yuri got a measly small line too. and since Yul sings more than Yoona, I don't think they'd have a problem with having Yoona share taht line with Soo. Whatever, at least this will be clarified when we see the performance/MV unlike who harmonizes with Tae. Damn, so this whole thing was pointless hahaha. Boy version of past SNSD songs did work because it was clear it was about love... not about a boy xD

Both songs sound good. Dear Mom basically is just Jess and TaeYeon with Tiff doing some harmonies in the background. and Destiny sounds good so far, something different from them- finally! So i’m excited about that one haha
Hmmm...I remember writing about girls from KARA, WG, and SNSD who don't have moms anymore... I wonder how Tiff felt singing Dear Mom. I definitely hear more of Tiffany and SeoHyeon now that I've listened to it for a third time. So four main vocals down, I hope they used the other girls now that their vocals have gone through some more training and most likely improved (not that it sounded bad before, but I could tell some of them struggled to give their full potential).

It is! It's so different from what they usually do, definitely not something i thought I would hear after TOP (thinking it was a one time thing). Way To Go (although I swear the lyrics sound different from the commercials) and Let's Talk About Love (SO OLD SCHOOL I LOVE IT!) are the best! <3333
The previews of Destiny and Dear Mom are different in both previews.
Gee is already damn catchy... but the rest of the freaking album sounds great.

I feel let down somehow, the mv just kinda jumps around so much and there's no time to focus on who is singing what line or what's even happening because no one scene stays for more than 1second.

It's like whoever made the mv just filmed a bunch of random things then when it came to final editing just pressed a button each second which randomly jumps between each scene that was filmed.

I actually liked it~. Idk, the only thing i hated was those scenes in white and with the shorts. why the hell use white shirts with a white bg? it doesn't makes sense. but i did liked it~ so cute.

People who sing two songs usually sing two complete opposite songs. But I'd rather have them sing Let's Talk About Love heehee- get some oldschool back. Their MV's have pretty much been all the same, with the exception of Baby Baby. (I guess ITNW was a bit different cause they didn't use a studio set) I thought the excessive cuts fit the song very well. My only expectation was that they would be cute as hell, and they delivered there. I guess the set and costumes where a bit meh compared to their older ones though. But I did like when they were all sitting in the white room wearing all white w/ black print during the breakdown. My guesss is that they rushed through this vid after all the complications so they could release it asap.
My favorite part was Seo and Hyo's interactions in the dressing rooms, and then Tae popping out. Least favorite part was Minho in the end standing against the wall... was that even necessary? The only people that part appeals to is his fangirls.
Oh yeah, forgot the most important part. Love all the hip swinging.

I think I've figured out why I haven't liked this MV much all the videos, the audio is out of sync! and so it makes me uncomfortable trying to watch. I managed to get the original wmv from that sosiz forum url although it stopped at 98% and now won't resume. I would upload the wmv but you can't seek with it so I re-encoded it so it's seekable and the audio is much much better and in sync also no watermarks up the top :p Uploading it asap

I tried to read... The girls wore the same costumes from the MV, judging by the set, I think it's the mannequin costumes. Sica wore a headband, and there's something about Yuri did some heart thingy with her hair or head or whatever. :lol: I'm thinking they probably have different outfits for Him Nae.
Their sales after 3 days (from Hanteo.com) are at 14.782 copies! And today, as of 13:20 Korea time, they've sold about 700something copies. I think they can beat Hyori's first week sales last year, if nothing goes wrong.

They relied heavily on the backing track in Gee. In some solo parts, you could hear the singing in the backing track louder than their live singing, not to mention the hooks which were almost 100% backing track. There were cracks here and there, but I gave it to them since it was their fisrt live. And yeah, Maria, Yuri and Tae both looked and sounded mad tired. Tae should just stop DJing. Her voice hasn't been 100% since forever. And Yuri's been sick since late last year, she looked like crap in all recent photos. ;_;

i never expected high bout their comeback perf but it's not bad either and not really cracking i must say just like "thinking" how to maintain the perf lol not bad but not the best taeyeon yuri sick then the BGM too loud and yeah louder than their live singing but then again they always start it weak then improving so i'm sure they will get better besides this is their comeback perf after quite so long they must be feel nervous and think too much while perf

I just read a fan account, turned out MBC actually edited the soound to make the backing track louder during the hooks, because fans were chanting really loud. Well, that's understandable. The fan said there were about 1.200 Sowons waiting to get in, but only 1.000 could. The girls were surprised to see so many fans coz it usually was just a few hundreds of them. Yuri and Sooyoung went chatting with some fans during a break too.

I just came back from the girls' MBC comeback, everyone probably already saw it. A lot of people seem to be worried since the chants on TV weren't that loud but I would like to tell you all that, there's no need to worry about that. Today's live support is probably Korea's most strongest on TV for girl groups. Let's put it this way, I along with some Seoul members went to MBC building at 7, our numbers started from 511, remember this is only at 7. At around 1pm, the amounts of Sone have increased up to more than 1000 people, at the end a SM worker said that the last number would be around 1200 but because of the size of the audience seats, the amount of Sones allowed in were around 1000.
MBC's live broadcasting room could no longer squeeze anymore people, all the seats were sat by Sones, even on the ground, it was crowded, even at the back, all of it was full. At the standing area, other than some SHINee fans, the rest were all Sone. All of SM's workers were unable to keep their mouths closed because of smiling the whole time. Because I only participated in the 'Gee' recording, the 'Way To Go' performance, because it would be live broadcasting, other fans had to come in too so there would only be 300 Sones that could stay. The first 300 Sones, because they lined up since last night, it was understandable for them to stay. The other Sones went home. On my way home, I watched the live from my phone. The scenario is completely different than on TV. The MBC director，after recording 'Gee' made the background music louder, which made the fan chants seem weak. When I was on the subway (she was probably watching it on the subway), I could barely hear the loud support from the Sones but I have already told you guys to not worry. That performance was all Sone. Also, some people saw some people at the standing area looking a bit slow-witted, that's because the Sones inside were very excited. Once balloons started to be waved, the camera in the back was completely blocked so the director didn't let anyone in the Standing area wave any balloons.
Now let's talk about all the happenings of today. Today, I and some SNSDChina members and a member from Taiwan arrived at 7 at the MBC building. After getting out of the car, my heart skipped a beat, darn, there's a huge chance we won't be able to go in. The whole first floor of the waiting room was filled with Sone. I found the person in charge of counting the fans and she said my number was 511. The weather today in Korea has been the coldest so far ever since winter started. Even if we were inside, me and the other members were shivering. At 9, the workers of MBC began to call out numbers. When looking at the numbers and seeing the number 800 being said, this news was spread to all the Sones really quickly, everyone was so happy, we never thought that there would be that many people here today. We are afterall fans of a girl group, this number's appearance, might not surpass the record but it has to probably break the record in Music Core. The security guards said they never saw so many boys, it was unbelievable. We however didn't know that that number was only the number of people at 9am. As time passed by, the amount of Sones increased and later by myself estimating, there were probably up to 1000 people.
However when they were counting us, it was a painful process because the amount of people let everyone be surprised, SM only sent two of their workers so it was up to us to count the number of people. After your name was called, you would sit down. Because of that, the space became smaller and it made us 500 people outside. That time it was -10 degrees celcius. We stayed in that temperature for 2 hours. Around 10 or so, SM had more workers come and help count. Most interesting was that when they arrived and saw all of the Sones, they couldn't believe their eyes since they usually see only 100-200 Sones. So then a SM worker quickly went back to SM to get more balloons since the balloons we had with us were not enough.
At around 12pm, the first 300 Sones were able to go in. Because of the large amount of people, the staff inspected us more carefully, didn't let anyone use anyone else's number. When you went in, everyone had to have their CD and their number to go in. When the first 300 went in, us 500 and over finally could be inside. About an hour later we started to go in.
Not that long later, the girls appeared. Then the entire room was filled with sound. Having gone to many live performance, this is the first time seeing such a strong male supporting group (Like seeing the amount of boys coming). The girls seemed really happy since they probably didn't know they would see so many Sones. The security guards were also smiling seeing so many guys there, it was very interesting to them. Everyone knows, at that time there were still a lot of Sones waiting outside since the Korean fan next to me got a call from outside asking if there was anymore room since there were hundreds more outside but there was no more room. As long as there was some room, there were all Sone.
Talk about when the girls performed. When they began to record, the fans at the standing area waved their balloons but it made the camera from behind to not have any good shots so that was why everyone saw only one person standing there. The girls today was really good even though they sang it 4 times but all 4 times, they sang from the beginning to the end, no cuts.[/b] The Sones there, because it was their first time doing the fan chant, had a hard time doing the chant at first. It was loud but a bit messy. But when the girls sang "Gee Gee Gee" and "No No No", the chants were in unison, even the director complimented us saying the effect was good. But maybe because we were loud, it covered up the girls' voice so at the end, MBC made the background music louder which made the live broadcast have weak chants.
During recording, there were some behind the scenes. One time during a break, Sooyoung and Yuri went to some Sones. They never thought that so many people would come. They asked us if we were cold and we said we were. Yuri said she thanked all of us. The second time of recording, Yoona's fans came up with an idea, everyone yelled out 'KIM SAEBYUK". This made the girls not knowing whether to laugh or not. Taeyeon said something but I forgot what it was but it was somethin like "I guess you'll be Kim Saebyuk from now on!" The fourth recording, our Taeyeon corrected some of the pronunciations to some members. Taeyeon especially sang some difficult parts out and then the recording was over. When they were leaving the stage, they looked like they didn't want to leave. It'll be hard to see another stage like this. Then SHINee came up and greeting their fans and Sone and they even sang a part of 'Gee'. Because of the girls' comeback, a lot of SHINee fans weren't able to go in the live recording so some Sones that were inside took some SHINee balloons and waved them when SHINee came on, some yelled out 'Choi Minho!'
Here I would like to say there might be some people that think what happened was impossible but I would like to tell you, today's circumstances are true. Some ss501 fans were amazed at the amount of Sones comeing. They said, "Ah, so many fans of SNSD." They had absolutely no idea. Not too long ago when they participated in anti-ing the girls did they expect now that Sone has expanded this much.
Today's events will be finished here. The most hardest times they and we have overcome. You can think, about 1000 people coming for one group at the auditorium is what kind of idea. There are only some boy groups that are able to achieve this, girl groups are more harder. I don't know about what girl group has achieved this before but in the present the only girl group that is able to achieve this is SNSD.

Damn that performance was bad.
I was paying more attention to how tired they looked than the actual performance. The dancing was a bit sloppy, and the vocals just as bad. Hyo looked almost as toe-up as me when I woke up this morning. XD

Todays live was unbelievable. The first outfits to Haptic was just WOW! Look at Kitten! and look at YoonA in that school uniform. And Tae's hair is looking amazing. :drool: Everything about today just felt better. Not that surprising tho since they got the debut nervousness out of them.

Why can't korean nurses give an IV though? Seems small enough that they should be able to do it. But for any normal person, a bit of rest would help with that flu in a few days. You don't need an IV.
Funny how they take the girls out from a schedule because of another schedule, but they won't take a freakin break when it comes to their health.
Even if they don't want to rest, I think it should be the management's responsibility to make them rest cause it's keeping them from working their best and only increases the probability to spread the sickness to others.

Well SNSD is part of SM and all those under SM, especially the younger ones, are supposed to be seen as perfect little angels. So I'm really happy she spoke out like this, but the way she spoke out...I have a feeling something will be taken of it.
Cindy told me she's spoken out before about other mishaps I guess, but I've never realized it... however, she seems really upset here and so would I. Regardless of being a celeb and getting special attention (which she obviously didn't recieve) she's STILL a patient. And the fact that they were "too busy" to help someone who was obviously in need of care... I know how the hospital system works. Unless they can PROVE that there's nothing wrong with you, then they don't have to administer any special medical attention to you if they don't have to. But if you're complaining and asking for help, I'm pretty sure you have to do whatever you can (that's within your power). I don't know how the Korean Medical System did it, but that's just wrong. and I don't even care that she's TaeYeon, the point is they ignored someone. Makes me REALLY wonder what I'll be getting myself into when I enter this field.

Hah. Nice to know another SNSD-perv plays guitar as well. I dunno about playing SNSD songs on guitar but I've tried a few K-pop songs.
But actually I'm glad they just had the guitar guy playing an accompaniment. It's cooler that they gave the solo jam to the gayageum-player since I hardly ever listen to music with traditional Korean instrumentals. Is it just me or is it mainly chicks in Korea who learn how to play classical instruments, Korean or Western?

Guitar! I try to play along to Him Nae, then try to do some kind of solo in the end cause I really felt like it's missing one. I saw some guy play haptic motion on youtube, that was pretty good, but I think he made it harder than it really is.
But yeah traditional instruments tend to be played by females more than males. It's cause you can't be a freakin rock star playing one!(with few exceptions) But I love the kayageum and would like to learn how to play lots of traditional instruments some day. And I agree with Pen-pen about the guitar accompaniment. But I actually find it harder playing the same chords over and over than playing lead melodies. :lol:
And wait, wasn't there supposed to be a song on the album with traditional instruments? Hopefully that rumor is true and it'll be released some day.

The perf was great. I think ther girls are starting to get used to performing the song, feeling more comfortable with it, more confident and the sick ones are okay right now too.

She's an undercover man. Everyone always says how underneath that aegyo, she's cute and serious. Plus, we see it a few times. If you want to do these ones all you have to do is get the html embed code for hd and put [ html ] [ /html ] around it. Without the spaces.
You might need to add &ap=%2526fmt%3D22 after &rel=0 twice (there's two places in the embed code) to make it really the highest quality.
You can also make the res higher, the default embed res for hd youtube is 640x385 but to fit in the forum you can make it 800x476 by modifying this area of the code <object width="640" height="385"> It's ok to do this because the original HD res for Youtube is actually 853x504 if you go to the link h ttp://au.youtube.com/watch?v=3x3VMFQPXwI and click watch in HD.

Uhm.. I thought i might write a line about this in case more people try to embed HD/HQ Youtube videos. Apparently the forum removes the [ html] [ /html] (whithout the spaces) tags for us mortals, lol. Well it depends on if you're trained in classical guitar. Most people can't make a really good arrangement for solo guitar without an accompaniment from others, even if they're crazy good, cause you're limited to a few notes for the bass parts. Especially when playing Jazz. That's why there's bass guitar. In piano you can play a full bass part as well as the main melody, and it doesn't really matter what genre.
^And about Jessi's hair. People seem to love the octopus hair. :lol: I think it's rather cute myself.

Lol. It's not really her handphone. It's the handphone of her oppa and she starts getting suspicious because the ringtone is for some other girl and has a :heart: next to the name, which suggests the dude is a player.
And after watching more of the clip it looks like Jiyoung put together a prank where the other members are eating a meal with a playboy and the hidden camera is there to see how the girls at the table react to the situation. If you watch further you'll see that the guy tries to come on strongly to Gyuri when the two other girls go to the bathroom.

Wow. That's really nice! Love the guitar work and the harmonizing.
I have to say, every interpretation or remix is sort of weird to me. I mean, the original is the original and hearing it so much makes all the other versions weird I guess. But it's amazing how many different versions people have put together and recorded. Not only sales shows the true impact of a song, stuff like this does that as good, if not better.

There has been recently a craze amongst netizens to post up ‘MR removed’ videos on the internet which also led to many comparing the vocal powers of various singers.
‘MR removed’ videos minimizes any MR (music recorded) in the song and maximizes the vocal of the singer - the singer’s vocal will be the only thing audible possible.
For a singer who cannot sing well, with all the sound magnification and voice companion at the chorus, the song may sound alright. But with the ‘MR removed’ version, only the vocal of the singer will be clearly audible.
Especially recently, a lot of ‘MR removed’ versions of live performances have been posted on the internet, and netizens have been comparing between singers on their vocal prowess.

Yeah, it's definitely her because I can hear her sorta struggling in 3:04 but she still pulled it off! 2:58 was great btw! Okay, maybe I exaggerated. I think she has hit these notes before, but it was short and not throughout a whole entire song. Maybe like one quick note (well long in the song since it was the climax but short compared to this one).

I never really liked rock versions of super poppy songs… like for instance WEEZER’s version of Meri Kuri or rock versions of Britney Spear’s songs… but i don’t know why… it just works with Gee. Rock Covers for Gee :heart:
